    Sorry for the late reply. Unfortunately, most of the surface models you get from medical imaging software will not be appropriate for 3D printing or animations, as is. There are a lot of different options for retopologizing the model. I have been happy with the manual retopology tools in 3D Coat (I have another video on using those). To add realism, I will further refine and sculpt my meshes in Maya or Mudbox.
    Autodesk's MeshMixer might be an option for getting your models 3D print ready, although I've only started to experiment with this, so I can't be sure. Hope this helps!

    hi, thank you for useful video tutorial, I want to export the Heart STL from Dicom data, I done all of the steps but still I dont have a trim heart to able print in flexible material, any idea? I need to trim that like a real heart. I saw your video in Blender as well but the problem is that, at the end I dont have file like real heart. pls help me if you can.
