I love the idea that homegoods is called that because it was started by a family with the last name “homegoods”
In an earlier era, one might have been known as Goodwife Homegoods, or Goodie Homegoods for short.

The unblinking stare on Kate McKinnon's face when she says "Fulfill the Wedding Promise" is pretty much the same look and attitude my wife and I got from ALL the older female relatives during the after marriage/before children time period.
As the mother-in-law of Kelsay (who is due in mid-May), that line KILLS me. I laugh OUT LOUD every time I watch it!

My daughter-in-law, Kelsay, was sent this. My husband and I could have written it. The kids have been together since July 2007 (pre-sophomore year of high school) and have been married over a year. We nearly peed ourselves laughing at this!

@Ingrid Fong Daley Oh honey, I think that's the way they are nationally. My NY mom is exactly the same way and she's 95. What we used to do at one point because we just gave up asking. Was that on Thanksgiving night after we finished dessert, we put everybody's name on to a slip of paper and put it into a bowl. So we decided we would have a secret Santa just with the adults and everybody would buy for the kids. Everybody was dreading who got my mother because it was the toughest assignment you can get ever! LOL 🤣

What skit did you ask for?
Mostly because this was one of the few new sketches they had for this episode (for those who don't remember: This was the episode that was partially shut down due to rising Omicron variant COVID cases, so all they did was show the pretaped sketches that were supposed to be on this episode if it were done live and a lot of classic sketches that were Christmas-themed).

This is my first Christmas with a mother-in-law, and I barely know the woman, so I'm really struggling with what to get her. But this skit made me realize that maybe I don't need to get her anything, since we're making the pregnancy announcement on Christmas day.

I absolutely love kids. Other people's kids. You know I love about other people's kids? That they go home at the end of the day.
And this is one of many reasons I'm a youth and children's pastor! Even more so than teachers, we get the fun of hanging out with other people's kids with less of the day-to-day responsibility. I highly recommend it. A warning, though: eventually you do get tired of only being a guest star in the kids' life and find yourself wanting your own after all.
