67. Narrowboat Living - Hidden beneath the surface on the Coventry Canal.

- More Narrowboat adventrues as we leave the Ashby Canal and turn at Marston Junction onto the Coventry Canal and head towards Nuneaton. We soon run into a spot of trouble as we come across a hidden sunken boat beneath the surface. We cruise through Nuneaton, Ernie seems to have been busy with a spray can! We arrive at a beautiful mooring near the famous Telegraph pole on the Coventry Canal.

I can't stop laughing! Paul's face, when he realized he had puncture, was priceless after he praised Halfords!! priceless !! CRT should have those sunken boats removed ....
I know, he went on and on about how good halfords was and then...🤣 CRT do usually remove them eventually, but tends to take a lot of time. 😀

Well when Paul bigged up Halfords and then got on the bike I nearly wet myself laughing haha! Paul get a small battery chain saw for that wood save your strength your gettin old lol :)

Paul also buy a small electric chainsaw to cut up the firewood... 🙂 House 23 is becoming more common these days for some folks... at least they have some sort of a roof over their head. But I hope that they are safe at night-time. As it didn't look to be the greatest of safest place in that area. Love the drone shots... and seeing the countryside from above. 🙂nz*
Bike all been sorted now Andrea, the shop put this green gel in each tyre, apparently its helps keep and punctures at bay. Yes good idea with the electric chainsaw I think we will be investing in one of those soon or definitely by next winter anyhow. Hope you are still enjoying nice weather and have managed to get out on your bike more. See you next week 😀

What about High Bridge No 39 aka Telegraph Bridge which is the most photographed Telegraph pole in the country. The bridge has been declared a listed building 😊
Absolutely, we haven't been passed that one yet. That's a beautiful bridge and telegrapgh pole and like this one on the Coventry very much photographed and appreciated by many 😊
Springwood is one of my favourite spots to moor, great wifi and wood! That sunken boat did have bouys on it when I went passed a few weeks before you. Flat tyre made me laugh! catch up soon. xxx
It's a beautiful spot isn't it, we would have stayed longer if we hadn't of needed water. I had heard that the boat had things around but obviously they were moved or something. Flat tyre. Would you believe his luck 🤣 all sorted now though and he's not actually used it since 🤣😀
That is the norm with a push bike no air in the tier .Just a big hole where the air comes out.
We have since out a special gel in the tyres which apparently helps with punctures and seems to be working so far. Fingers crossed 😄

they use thermal cameras to check for hotspotrs on the high voltage transmission lines. Hotspots point to potential faults.

Hi Russell, we have now got a green gel in the bike tyres which apparently helps not get punctures 😉 Hopefully the log will dry out to use, we have cut it into smaller parts. 😀

Hi there, yes green slime is now in the tyres, think he paid an additional £7 or something on top of his yearly membership thing at Halfords. Doubt our little channel will get freebies and to be honest we would then have to review and plug it and we said from the start that we wouldn't do that on here but maybe one day if we keep struggling with the bike we got 😉😊
@@uponreflection yeah true about the bike thing but the e bike means you can easily double your moving distance, we do 10 miles usually .

Hilarious with the bike, you were so genuinely disappointed, arrrh. Won't they eventually pull the sunken canal boat up... could have caused a real issue well observed. Ps when a woman says they don't want chocolate, it's self reverse Psychology Don't tell you have bought a bar but when a woman really looks put out that you actually didn't buy some...you can put a cuppa on and serve it up when she's least expecting it 😂

Helicopter checking pylons and cables. Sunken boat really unexpected, needs removing asap
Hi there, yes another watcher has said that the helicopter uses thermal cameras which makes sense. Apparently the sunken boat did have bouys around it a few weeks before we came across it, but yes you're right it needs removal. 😀

Does the government do maintenance on the canals, and also cleanup when needed?
Government no. They have just cut their funding for the canals but the canal and river trust are a charity organisation that look after 2000miles of the canal and do maintenance and clean ups but to be fair we've had so many storms of late causing fallen trees, landslides, damage and floods etc they probably are probably so busy. 😊

Omg don't...you bringing back a childhood memory there...I was desperately searching cupboards one day as a kid and found chocolate dog treats🤣 they weren't half bad if I'm honest 🤣🤣 not sure if they still sell them but if they do maybe I'll pick some up as reserve chocolate 😉😄
