Great video! In 2019, I visited the UK from Australia, and actually spent a few hours spotting trains here, Piccadilly and Deansgate, and was in awe at all the different Classes and TOCs. Just awesome!

Transport for Wales Class 197 DMU Civity are very impressive and beautiful trains as CAF have built them. And are similar to West Midlands Railway Class 196. Maybe CAF could build more extra trains that would help with the constant overcrowding of trains that passengers use when travelling around Greater Manchester and to replace the older trains. If Northern were to order more Class 195 and Class 331 and TfW to order more Class 197. And the Class 175 to be transferred to ScotRail to replace the older trains used in the North of Scotland.

Wales is a changing place for Rail, 90% of the current stock will be replaced and variety which has been in place for over 30 years will be lost in a similar way to how East Anglia has lost its variety to 755s.
It isn’t used much now, it used to be regularly used for terminating Stockport 323 trains until ~2020. Now it’s used for one TPE train in the morning and one in the evening.
The additional 'whirring' sound with the engine noise I believe is the Radiator for the Air Conditioning. It certainly does sound different, but those 185s have some beastly engines anyway!
Freight isn’t too rare. On weekdays there are a handful a day and 1-2 on weekends (when I filmed this). Pretty much everything from Trafford Park Container terminal comes this way. It is however rare to get anything other than containers 😃
@@StarlifeStudios i disagree, but opinions of any kind are valid when it comes to new transport, it will be some time for you to get use to the changing railways and how futuristic they will become in the following years, we are after all closely aporocing the 2030s in a few years from now, but i get that people dont like the 197s, i completly understand it, but give them a chance amd u may just change your mind, but its up to you in the end :) No venting or anger here, but give em a chance, they are still new and as i learnt people dont gest use to new things right away, it takes time.
Thanks Welsh Trains, perhaps I was a little too blunt with my comment. I agree with your generally philosophy and how opinions do change over time. Let me be a little more detailed; whilst the 175s are still about, it’s easy to compare between them and this is even more so because this fleet is newer than the vast majority of TfW stock. I will give it time and it looks like we’ll have to get used to them as well! 😃

Not enough 175s for that, and Scotrail have said they’re not taking secondhand units right now
