Besides having a very unexpected "Dune" reference with the hookshots and the worms...did he really add a mini "Clayfighters" secret in there? That mod's been dead for ages, yet still in our hearts!
@@usersomethingsLike what? The planned Great Oak biome has obvious parallels to Erebus, the Magnetron resembles the Golem from Mo Creatures, and one could do a stretch and say that the nuke is kinda like the one from IC, but that’s it
@stolyartoad8640 so you know the one ocean mod that yogscast reviewed and made in to minecraft. I think the ocean cave biome from Alex's cave is based on it
This is essentially the successor of the Candyland mod, which is crazy since candy isn't even the main feature of the mod! Speaking of which, I really do wish there was some kind of candy factory block that we could use to craft the various sweet treats in the biome by using the resources we can find.
Honestly this reminds me of some books I read when I was small, where the protagonists would travel through strange worlds with some being places like this all made out of candy and other oddities.
I think that's kinda the interesting thing about Alex's caves; we're getting biomes where the basic block has some kind of use. in the Magnetic Caves basically everything is iron, for another example. Makes me wonder about the other biomes being teased. I have my eye on the space caves in particular because there's certainly some interesting stuff that can be done with the mini planets I'm pretty sure have been teased.
at first feels like a joke but it has a bunch of unique neutral and hostile mobs, 2 minibosses, several unique and useful mechanics like the biome changing cauldron or the hooks, several weapons with a wide array of customization through enchantments, a ton of new blocks and recipes, and everything remaining surprisingly cohesive and logical... enough to be a dimension mod of its own, but no, this is just _an update_ for a mod
NGL... this is my least favorite cave. It's immersion breaking. I mean, I'd understand if it was a new dimension, but a cave? Nope. The previous caves had established roots based on myths and theories, like the hollow Earth theory for Primordial Cave, or Abyssal Chasms being the deep unknown, or the Toxic Caves being a what if scenario for all the radioactive wastes stored underground.

I heard there's a theory that every cave in alex's caves is based on or has features from an old minecraft mod

Also achievement for using cauldron is called "biome reactors" which obviously is a reference to an old mod with the same name

That would be really dope ngl. A candy factory sounds like a dream, maybe you could have the gingerbread men automating some machines

finally i can be gummy, duke of candyland
People: "No, he will certainly not make a biome where everything will be edible, that's ridiculous"
Alex: "Watch me"

I just thought it was referencing Goat Simulator

it is just ONE of the 6 caves the mod has to offer, I honestly love this project so much
Gummy bear should mix colour. Red + blue = purple, purple + blue = violet, violet + white = lilac.
My favorite part definitely has to the gummy worm and the grappling hook.
Another banger video
omg i love things with environments like this
Guess I know what I am building. Toriko's candy house(from that anime)

The lore for this cave was a bunch of witches felt silly and made a cave of candy
Nah the lore is that witches made it, it’s not naturally occurring. I think that makes aense
minecraft has witches and magic, so i can believe them being silly and creating a candy cave biome
its lore is literally based on magic, of course its unnatural
