Robert Eggers : "My pitch for a Dracula film is The Witch meets The Lighthouse." Focus Feature Exec. "Aren't those two of your films? Robert Eggers : "Yes" Focus Features : "How much do you need and when do you want to shoot it?"
Finally a truly dark depressing vampire film. We need vampire films like this and Near Dark, and JC Vampires. Fuck all that happy shit. Vampires are meant for sad love stories with horror or just straight up horror. Bravo.
Glad to see Robert Eggers still trying to keep gothic horror alive in a age of modern day slashers, this looks like it could be right up there with the best horror remakes like The Thing and Evil Dead.
After seeing The VVitch, The Lighthouse and The Northman, & as someone who has also grew up watching with the Original Silent film with Max Schrek, and the 1979 version with Klaus Kinski, and has also seen Shadow of a Vampire with Willem Dafoe, i am more than anxious to see this movie, & I have a feeling Robert Eggers will deliver with his take on Nosferatu.
Robert Eggers and Jarin Blaschke seem to have crafted an absolutely stunning look for the film. I cannot wait for this film mate! That shot of the shadow of Orlok's hand over the village/town is fantastic!
What's exciting about this is Eggers is a huge fan of the original film as well as the Herzog remake. He speaks about them with quite a lot of reverence. This means he'll likely do the material justice, which I think he's more than capable of.
Very cool I like that are blending more elements from Dracula than they could from previous versions such as a Van Helsing character which Defoe looks like he's playing, the time Johnathan spends in the Romanian monastery with the nuns, vampire stakings. Definitely looking forward to this film.
As someone who read the old script Eggers wrote in 2016 (first draft practically) I can say this is pretty much Eggers' Nosferatu in a nutshell. A faithful remake of Murnau's OG movie but with a lot of elements from the Dracula novel brought in. And an interesting twist on the Ellen/Orlok relationship.
I absolutely ❤ the classic black and white silent film. It is an absolute classic and a crown jewel of cinema. I like most black and white horror films. Robert Eggers is very good when it comes to recreating the period his horror films are set in. So it doesn't surprise me that it is the same thing we see here. The teaser builds up the tension and suspense. I hope the film delivers as this teaser promises.
Bram Stokers Dracula was the first novel I read, I love a well-done rendition, but it is so over done, really glad that they're not doing sparkly vampires and printing crappy dracula movies for once! I think Nostferatu was the first classic horror movie I watched, the only silent film I've ever watched. Exicted.
The trailer exudes epic quality I've a feeling this will be more than an homage, pastiche or remake but a masterpiece... a feast and not just for Nosferatu.
The last time I went to the theater Christmas Day was when Quentin released Django Unchained. I wasn’t a movie buff at the time and didn’t know who he was, immediately turned into a fan. Can’t wait to go see this Christmas night!
Well, this is definitely my Christmas present, because I am definitely going to be there. Good horror movies and good Vampire stories are so hard to come by because most people prefer their Vampires to be pornstars. I hope the makeup designs for Count Orlock are frightening and give him fangs that are large and predatorial like a combination of teeth that are like a rat, a cat, and a bat. The original black-and-white film was a cinematic masterpiece and very scary. I hope they go all in dread and atmosphere, which judging by the first teaser they did. Also since this is gothic horror, I hope they focus on the theme of decay.
its been so long since ive actually wanted to see a movie just from the trailer , usually i just feel "meh i could watch that " these days but im actually feeling enthusiasm for it
That shot of the jagged hand moving over the city along with that final one of the Count standing with his hounds is absolutely haunting. Bill Skarsgard is going to devilish as this character!🩸
This is actually a mix between the classic movie and the Bram stoker's novel, and it's funny it's not the first time bill Skarsgard plays a vampire he played it before in a 2013 TV show called Hemlock Grove
The setting , tone, time period and environment of this movie is reminiscent to the early Universal Pictures horror classics by Boris Karloff (Frankenstein), Bela Lugosi (Dracula) and Lon Chaney Jr (The Wolfman)!.It has an old school and classic vibe!
I am so bloody excited for this! My most anticipated film of 2024 by far. Trailer literally gave me chills! Anything created by Eggers, I am so there! 🦇 🖤
I’ve been so dang excited for this! I don’t know if it’s intentional but the shot of the man on the horse looks like an homage to a shot from Werner Hetzogs Nosfetatu, which I loved. I subbed due to your excitement for this lol
Looks amazing, Eggers is at his best with horror imo. I personally found The Northman a big steaming pile, but I think he's going to knock this one out of the park.
It probably sounds silly but my favorite part is the title card at the end. The font choice is great, but the slight shake gives it that old silent movie feel. I adore that small touch! I just might go to the theater for this one.
Wow, it was actually better than I considered. Eggers is known for the depth of his research, so I can't wait to see what he does with this iconic film.
There are some shots that seem to be from Eastern Europe, the one from 3:42 is a wooden church, seen in Transilvania or Bucovina regions of Romania and the castle from 4:24 looks like the Corvins Castle, also from Romania, yes all of them are CGi shots but the models inspired seem to be from there. And "Nosferatul' is an archaic Romanian word, synonymous with "vampire". The trailer looks great, I can not wait, I have enjoyed all of Robert Eggers films.
I hope my local theater is still alive when this comes out. Going to this as soon as it's here. I haven't actually been excited for a new movie for a long fuckin time. That kind of sucks to be honest. I like being pumped up for a new show..especially when it delivers. Please deliver on this one!!!!!!
The only thing I wanted for my birthday on April 23rd 2022 was to go watch The Northman. 33rd birthday at the time. My Wife, 2 Brothers in Law and Sister in Law made it happen and went with. This is looking like my Christmas present I think.
I do think this looks pretty good based on the trailer. I will definitely not be just going out and watching it though. I stopped doing that a long time ago. I liked the original a lot so I am hoping this is a close to source material kind of movie BUT that seems to be in short supply. Thanks for the review.
I've seen the original and looking at this trailer I do think there will be quite a bit of the original Nosferatu in this but if you are familiar with the Dracula the novel and the very few faithful adaptations of the book you can see quite a bit of that in there too. Definitely has the Eggar's style to it but baring bad reviews this looks like a good horror movie for sure.
Robert Eggers : "My pitch for a Dracula film is The Witch meets The Lighthouse."
Focus Feature Exec. "Aren't those two of your films?
Robert Eggers : "Yes"
Focus Features : "How much do you need and when do you want to shoot it?"
Love that Willem Dafoe is in this. He played the count in Shadow of the Vampire and now here he is in a different role. Awesome. Looks good.
Great movie. I wouldn't even say it's underrated. Hardly anyone's even heard of it 🙁
@@MobbJacket88 I really like it.
There's also Nicholas Hoult...Renfield!
@@Overlord81 True!
Not just a different role...this time, he is playing the Van Helsing Character! Wow! Talk about, "Full Circle"... ;)
That's how you make a trailer it's not telling you much and it looks epic cannot wait
Finally a truly dark depressing vampire film. We need vampire films like this and Near Dark, and JC Vampires. Fuck all that happy shit. Vampires are meant for sad love stories with horror or just straight up horror. Bravo.
Last Voyage of the Demeter was a good vampire film.
Could not agree more💯%
Vampires, by their very nature, are cruel and evil creatures
I'm glad someone remembers Near Dark and JC Vampires
This looks like it will lean into the latter.
Glad to see Robert Eggers still trying to keep gothic horror alive in a age of modern day slashers, this looks like it could be right up there with the best horror remakes like The Thing and Evil Dead.
So awesome they got Willem Defoe in here since he played Count Orlok in Shadow of the Vampire. I loved that movie!
He has yet to disappoint me, I cannot wait.
Having Willem Defoe there is a massive homage. He was in the remake back in the day. He played Nosferatu.
That wasn't a remake. It was a fictional take on the making of the original. But I get what you're saying.
@@JeremyPennington-v7q Yeah! You are right. It wasn't a Remake.
Wonder if he’ll still eat the script girl
You know I'm something of a Nosferatu myself
@@crashdavis721 BRAVO! ;)
Finally, a horror movie that I'm excited to see.
Robert Eggers and Jarin Blaschke seem to have crafted an absolutely stunning look for the film. I cannot wait for this film mate! That shot of the shadow of Orlok's hand over the village/town is fantastic!
The castle close-up looks like the Corvin Castle in Romania, so I'm pretty sure they filmed it on location.
What's exciting about this is Eggers is a huge fan of the original film as well as the Herzog remake. He speaks about them with quite a lot of reverence. This means he'll likely do the material justice, which I think he's more than capable of.
love the director , this looks great , my most hyped horror film this year

Bill as Eric Draven ❌️
Bill as Count Orlok✅️
I'm legit excited to see this movie! Eggers is one of my favorite modern directors.
Both are great
Yeah, 'this' is the Bill Skarsgard role I want to see.
This does actually looks fantastic! Along with Romulus, two great horror films coming out soon
¿soon? at christmas
Bram Stokers Dracula was the first novel I read, I love a well-done rendition, but it is so over done, really glad that they're not doing sparkly vampires and printing crappy dracula movies for once!

Yes finally we get to see it!!!... ( Christmas is looking bloody this year... )
Eggers is growing into his craft. Fantastic director!
The last time I went to the theater Christmas Day was when Quentin released Django Unchained. I wasn’t a movie buff at the time and didn’t know who he was, immediately turned into a fan. Can’t wait to go see this Christmas night!
Really can't wait. The atmosphere alone will be worth it. They could screw everything else up and I would enjoy it.
I cannot wait!!! It’s been such a long time since we had a great Christmas movie release!!
Well, this is definitely my Christmas present, because I am definitely going to be there. Good horror movies and good Vampire stories are so hard to come by because most people prefer their Vampires to be pornstars. Looks like the best vampire movie since bram stoker Dracula
Damn! They made it look creepy as hell!
4:53 Corvin Castle in Romania? That bridge looks like it, never been there but picture is kind of similar
What a Fantastic cast, I love seeing William Dafoe in this being that he has played Nosferatu before in Shadow of the Vampire.
its been so long since ive actually wanted to see a movie just from the trailer , usually i just feel "meh i could watch that " these days but im actually feeling enthusiasm for it
I just looked up who is playing Orlok. That guy directed by Eggers? I’m in!!!
That shot of the jagged hand moving over the city along with that final one of the Count standing with his hounds is absolutely haunting.
Bill Skarsgard is going to devilish as this character!🩸
Look amazing tbh it’s got the Gothic Dracula vibe to it
Oh yeah this is gonna be a fun movie!
Cannot wait for this! The best Christmas gift ever! Thank you Robert Eggers!!
I like Eggers films and I'm always up for some gothic horror. This looks great.
Now this is a director!
The fact that its a mix of Bram Stokers Dracula novel and the original German silent film Nosferatu. is VERY promising!
Looks amazing! Can’t wait to see it.
Im so STOAKED MR H!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I hope this film is good.

Robert Eggers and Ari Aster are keeping great Horror alive for all of us.
Over half a million views in 4 hours !! Holy shit
Looks brilliant, but it's got a hard act to follow, the Max Shreck version and the Herzog/Kinski version are both brilliant films!

Just perfect tone. Got some Bram stoker Dracula mixed with Bloodborne(video game) atmosphere vibes. Luuuuv it.
My most anticipated film 🎥 of 2024
This is how you do a trailer!
It probably sounds silly but my favorite part is the title card at the end. The font choice is great, but the slight shake gives it that old silent movie feel. I adore that small touch! I just might go to the theater for this one.
Its excellent in its ability to simply transport you into a different time and place! Cant wait!
What in the world I suddenly got notification on the TH-cam app when people uploading videos now
Damn. I got chills watching the trailer. Awesome work
The VVitch is one of the best modern horror movies I've seen. Can't wait to see what Eggers does with this!
Looking forward to this!
I agree this movie looks super amazingly good from the trailer , I'm interested to see see it can't wait
Impressive, the return of NOSFERATU ⚰️ 🪦 very 😱
Should of called it Dracula as it was more that than nostferatu
Yes original was loosely based on bram stokers story but enough to be it own thing.
This looks incredible !!!!
The hairs on my arms stood up, wow.
Now that...is a trailer. So excited.
William Defoe is very similar van Helsing as a doctor/professor
Yeah, Christmas is going to be good this year
If you build it, they will come.
This looks fantastic! It gives me that feeling like when I first saw Salem’s lot.

I was already looking forward to this movie, but this teaser blew my mind actually.

I'm so excited for this film!
I love that I get Bloodborne vibes from this
I see every Robert Eggers movie in theaters love them.
Trailer is super interesting!!!, soundtrack too, sounds like the one from The Witch.
It's like my fav vampire movie which is Bram Stoker's Dracula starring Gary Oldman storyline
That Gothic castle. That is a real location. That's 'Corvin Castle' in Romania. The Nun was also filmed there.
