Hey, something that i want to point out. It doesn't appear in the update log, but carbine apparently got buffed. When i was in an endless with another carbine user we noticed that our movement speed were not being slowed down when reloading, just like the pistol. If its a new feature and not some sort of bug, then the carbine is just now literally a buffed version of the pistol.
Edit: hey, i was talking with people at the official discord server, and its actually a new buff, you wont have reduced walk speed while reloading or aiming with the carbine. So yeah, they actually madr carbine a viable option.
So it’s the faster younger brother of the musket.

Something you missed: if you use the pike with the new french cavalry regiment, it gets a white and red flag and is called lance instead of pike. Doesn’t change anything but it’s cool!

@@SSGIL1812 on further research these guys are indeed polish. The 1st polish lancers regiment was incorporated into the old guard in 1809. (Tho I was skeptical cause the requirements for the old guard was very strict and I kinda expected being French to be one of them)

The pike's an absolute beast of a weapon. Before the patch, you could combo with the pike and the sabre by switching both repeatedly to get 2 hits per second. It has a long reach, you can sometimes melee bombers without dying, and you can one-hit zombies during charge. Probably gonna get nerfed jesus christ.

Still pretty op It removes the need to fear runners on endless. (You know…….everyone dies and you have to solo the horde and accidentally missing one hit against a runner or 3 runners come at you the game is basically over) not to mention 2 pikes together is a hell of a combo same with 1 pike and a sapper.
pike + sapper + san sebastian = the best way to win san sebastian
Now it’s swing speed is a bit slower than the hand axe

Man I wish they added a French Civilian team, a sub class for civilian team called Huntsman and a weapon Crossbow Primary weapon for the team in G&B because it would look cool and looks more realistic like some civilians were survivors of the apocalypse not only military.
Would make sense since you can see arrows and pitchforks stuck into some shamblers

It does not need to reload and G&B is mostly centered around melee combat.
But servers are still filled with 90% musketeers :(

My secret for the pike for getting 300 kills in less than 5 rounds of objective is to go to first person and aim for the zombies heads. Literally every single zombie except the sapper is insta killable that way, although 7/10 you’re most likely gonna miss considering how small the hitbox is. Besides that, the pike is extremely good and fun to use
As a challenge, try to obtain the badges “Forlorn Hope”, “Glory to the Survivors”, and “GIVE ‘EM STEEL” on the map San Sebastián on Hardcore mode, in a public server. Do it, it’s funny.

The pike can also be used to kill bombers since it is longer it can stab bombers from a distance and while it can do some damage you can still kill bombers
I was fortunate enough to play the game the second the update released and the double barrel pistol DID in fact drop. I got it but my friends didn’t, saying it was super buggy and the shop was messed up. Updates came out like crazy and it was soon removed from the shop, but it was fun to play with before that happened.
Before it’s removal, the whole update was buggy in general, at times I would randomly get multiple piles in my inventory for some reason and my gunshots would sometimes not do any damage. All of these things were fixed in quick updates so we just assumed that they would add the pistol back soon.
(Also the pike is absolutely insane and everyone should use it as much as they can before it’s nerf, it’s not even fair how much dps is has.)

The double barrel was Ingame for a bit, it costed around 2000 francs from what I’ve heard, but was removed immediately when new servers dropped.
Yea, I was there too when the DB pistol got dropped, and some dude bought it, and then they removed it because it wasnt suppose to be out yet, I hope that guy got refunded.

so that people know: there is a small movement debuff and has far enough range, that if you have full health, you can survive meleeing a bomber
also, it got debuffed to have the same swing rate as the hand axe

I was playing with some people and we all had pikes and beat the new map two times San Vardaose fortress Lipzig all with out any sappers just pikes and some officers
After some testing, I found out that it doesn’t really matter that you don’t have a fire arm since if you time it carefully, you can hit a bomber without taking damage. Pretty cool ß]
The Double Barrel Pistol was added, but it was removed.

@@Gunslinger832 I have no idea. A few minutes after the update launched, I joined a server and saw it in the shop. The price was "Default" so, it most likely added by mistake or as a test, and eventually was removed on purpose.
The cool thing they did was fix the viewing after death when playing on the controller best update!!

Yes and no if you do it right you take a bit of damage but you don't die. If it's a bit close you might lose half health or more and fall on the ground, It is safe if your standing behind walls and from certain angles around corners you can hit them without taking any damage

When I joined for the update, the double pistol existed on the shop in public servers but I couldn't buy it. Also the pike is bugged to duplicate itself in endless servers XD

Although the pike is a super good weapon, you have no firearm and you are much slower. I would probably alternate between the musket and pike.

in the most recent kaub match I did we won with no sappers, and didnt even fall back past the first platform (Break in the stairs)
we should probably be aware that the pike got a 0.35 second swing cooldown by now which is quite a big change since you'd be clearing zombies less faster alone and itd only be efficient if you're in a group of pike users
They fortunately reduced it by 0.15 seconds
