Hi Abbie - Im the guy who you met at the start red phone box and then "stole" your first campsite :). Thanks for the video of "my walk" as we were never far apart, especially day 3 when the views were out of this world. YES I made the same mistake at the gauze bushes a few hours before you did LOL. Thanks again its been worth the wait and hopefully Ill see you again on the trail :)
Really enjoyed the video and it was great to see you out and about, but I could have done without the environmental lecture, we all know that the seas are polluted and why, and most of us are trying our best to help clean things up, until big businesses tidy up their act us minnows will only ever be playing catch up, your videos for me are a form of escapism I look forward to your next adventure but if your going to go on a environmental rant flash up a warning so I can skip past it please.
Hi Abbie Me and my husband have been watching your videos for the last few days non stop! You’re an inspiration 😊 we’re back in Skye Easter weekend and going to attempt the walk from sligachan bridge. Our Health isn’t the best but we do love a good hike. And 100% it’s great for my mental health. Keep on keeping on 😊
Hi Abbie, this is the first video I've watched of yours and I fell in love with you within minutes! Can't wait to follow your adventures and see what you have already done. I love your ethos, your courageous and honest personality and the way you smile so much :D I hope one day we get to meet, as you are exactly the type of person everyone needs in their life! Take care and I wish you safety and wellness on all your adventures. 🙌 xX
I still have 30ish minutes to go, but I'm at the part where you come across the beach with strewn plastic and fishing boat waste. It reminded me of being on Stewart Island/Rakiura in New Zealand - almost as far as you can go without reaching Antarctica. There was plastic on the beaches there too - mostly fishing waste. It blew my mind that it was a national park almost at the bottom of the world, and we couldn't escape this reminder of human interaction with nature. So sad to think plastic is going to be the artifact of future archeologists and will outlast us all.
All that plastic is heartbreaking isn't it? It's the ocean saying "There you go have some of your bloody rubbish back". on a more positive note this was a lovely film x
I wanted to wait until the end before complimenting you on a really lovely video but at Camasunary Bay I just had to comment. What you said about your ups and downs struck me , I feel for you in this, I’ll just say, don’t be afraid to stop, sit down, lie down, take the thinking out of it. Just give yourself up to the sound, the wind , the light, the moment. Breath. Get the environment on your side. Don’t just do it. Be it. I love Skye, I know it from land and sea. I will always go back. This is one of the best Scottish videos I have seen. You are so good at this ! Thank you.
Thank you for this Abbie. Last time up I was absolutely cuffed by bad weather before I even got to Flodigarry. Even the locals said I'd be mad to attack the Ridge in those conditions. I shall return! Safe travels.
Another wonderful and inspiring film - thank you! The "gulls" at 14:45 are Fulmars - pelagic birds that spend most of their lives far out at sea that are relatives of the Albatrosses!
Hello Abbie and thanks for another great film, it took me a while to find a couple of hours to sit down and watch. I followed your route on a mud stained OS map - a memento of my attempt at walking in the Cuillins in which I stood on what I thought was firm ground and sank up to my knee in bog water! During the same holiday I also cam across a rubbish strewn beach to the North of Dunvegan. The plastic looked like it had come off of shipping - industrial sized containers with labelling in different languages. The blue plastic tray you zoomed in on has Dutch writing on it and I think there was a €10 refundable deposit for returning it. But it still ended up in the sea
Beautiful as always. You brought tears to my eyes looking at the garbage, immense sadness in my heart. TH-camrs “living the Skye Life” did a cleanup soon after moving to Skye. If we all can do our bit, there is hope. Over 50 years ago I started my own environmental journey cleaning oil off of seabirds near Santa Barbara. For awhile I lived consciously raising my own food. Now with health issues that is no longer my life. But watching you, being inspired by you, I can share my awarenesses with others. Thank-you for your own sharing. Hope is real.
Great video - thanks for reawakening old memories. Hard to believe it's 25 years since I last visited Skye! Even then there was a startling (and depressing) amount of rubbish on the beach at Camasunary.
Dear Abbie. Thank you very much for your yet again fantastic video. I have been watching your channel quite sometime and I love it to bits it’s really inspiring and (since I am familiar with mental problems you are facing more than I would like to) I am very grateful for your presence too. I think that your videos about nature and outdoors is one of the best available around. You have touched a very sad and heart breaking subject of plastic pollution that suffocates our planet. Yes, you are absolutely right, unless WE ALL do something about it nothing is going to change. Yes, you are correct, you are not going to die if you don’t eat grapes packed in foil and plastic. But I don’t think it’s that easy. You see - when you have stopped at Elgin for a break you had a coffee. In a single use cup. Similar to those you found on the beach the day before. You did have your normal camping mug that you could’ve use but automatically you took a single use cup offered by the shop. Please don’t get me wrong. This is not criticism. It just shows you that plastic pollution is extremely difficult subject that is very much ingrained in our everyday behaviour and routines. Keep up the good work and keep safe out there.
I cried 😢 seeing that beach. I often feel completely demoralised and get very down about the state this beautiful planet is in. All at the hands of the human race. I sometimes feel I'd be the happiest if I were to see the day the human race finally destroys itself. You are 💯 right with what you said about it being down to us to do something. I have made a conscious move away from ingredients and packaging that isn't. It's no good relying on others, we all must do what we can. I ❤ everything about your channel. The beauty of nature, your love for our beautiful planet, your openness and vulnerability. You have a beautiful soul and you are a strong person. I can empathise with the mental health struggles, and I admire you for the way you cope with that. ❤x
Thankyou so much for this wonderful video Abbie. I'm an Isle of Skye native, born and bred but living in Singapore for the last 20 years. You really brought me back home for a short while. The squelching bogs, the peat coloured water, the sheep, the cows, the old ruined houses. I could really smell and taste the places of my childhood. And of course the stunning mountains, the cliffs, the sea views that I'm so familiar with. You were brave tackling it in April but luck was on your side and you really got the most amazing weather! I have to get back and do the trail some day
This video was AMAZING! The Isle of Skye trail had some of the most visually stunning scenery. The views were breathtaking! I also couldnt believe the awesome weather you had for nearly a week! This is probably my favorite video of all your videos i watched! Thank you so much for making it and sharing it to the world! Much appreciated!
Fantastic film Abbie! ☺️ I’m doing this trail with my dad in April so this video was such good timing! It has made me even more excited. Glad you had an incredible time ❤
That's quite a journey, Abbie. Walking the whole of the Trotternish Ridge in one day is no mean feat, and then there was all the rest, too. Kudos! Unfortunately (and I wish I didn't have to say it), not all of the rubbish around the island is deposited by the tides. I live on Skye, and can report that some of the roadsides are utterly strewn with trash. My partner and I picked up several binloads in one afternoon round the North end of Trotternish. Is it locals who do this ,or tourists? Everyone speculates, but no-one seems to ever see anyone actually doing it. Fortunately, the island is big enough and epic enough to remain wild and beautiful despite this problem, but as you say it's about awareness and people needing to look at things differently. It's good, what you do. Keep going... 😎
You keep introducing me to new trails and I'll keep daydreaming about them.... But in the case of the West Highland Way I'll soon be doing it. Thanks Abbie for introducing me to long distance hiking in the UK.
Abbie you are amazing and you are 100% right when you say " fear can't have the steering wheel all the time ". I love this and thank you for everything you do. All the best to you x
As I watched your journey, I felt a calmness come over me. If that's how I feel just watching, It must have had a wonderful effect on you being there. It looks beautiful. I'm sure it's harsh at times, but the weather for your trip couldn't have been better for your hike. Thanks for taking us along.
Hi Abbie, thank you for being you, for your concerns for the planet, for being completely honest about your anxiety. We've spent such a lot of time on Skye, our hearts are there. We all need to protect nature, love our Mother Earth, stop eating meat and dairy and using plastic. Thanks so much for your videos 💚💚💚
I love the Isle of Skye, such a magical walking climbing paradise....except for the midges they are cruel from April to Sept........but such a beautiful place.
I enjoyed that Abbie, so glad that the weather was good and you saw Skye at her best. Boreraig and Camusunary are personal favourites for an overnight camp.
Loved your video, my brother and wife lives on skye was good to see your hike , i felt your anxiety at times i suffer from it as well . I used to go walking im older now love watching .
Hi Abbie, I can honestly say I didn't envy you on this extreme hiking journey, it was too wild and exposed for me even if I was young and able., and you risked getting your eye poked out or falling off a rocky edge. Definitely a no go area for me.
Abbie, thankyou for the most epic journey. 2 hours of magic and awe. You made me smile and almost cry. Skye is a beautiful place and you did it proud. I carry a small pebble in my pocket each day, stolen from a bay on my last visit to Skye. A small token to remind me how special the place really is. Slanj
Abbie - Thanks for bringing some much needed sunshine and cheer to a gloomy February. It's great to see you looking so happy and at peace with both yourself and the stunning landscape of Skye.
Great vid, and bringing back Memories,. We did the same walk from Elgol, to Camasunary, then around to Loch Coruisk and back to Elgol. That was over 40yrs ago, The Rubbish on the beach, was just as bad then. The house was an old mountain hut. Also there was bowling green flat, green grass littered with rabbit holes, some times, you could see as may as 30 rabbits at a time grazing. The boats at Elgol, take tourist to Loch Coruisk, They built a landing jetty, at loch Coruisk end, and now an easy walk to the loch, in a spectacular surroundings. 😊
Hi Abbie, this route was just beautiful, and inspiring as always. But I must say the littered beach was the one that got me. It broke my heart, I cried. We are such a stupid species.
Hi Abbie, i discovered your channel a few months back and have been watching your adventures. I have really enjoyed them, the running commentary is excellent, your a very brave lady and you should be very proud of all your achievements. I myself used to walk alot, but then got diagnosed with arthritis in both my hips, so walking now has become a problem for me. I do get pleasure that I can experience some lovely walks through your channel, and will continue to follow your adventures. 🤗🤗
Terrific video, Abbie. Really enjoyed your journey around Skye. I did the Sligachan to Camasunary Bay hike and really enjoyed the peace and quiet. You are absolutely spot on about the litter lying around the bay and the bothy. We wild camped away from this area in another magical spot. At least that's what we thought until the midges attacked us. ATB.
So glad that bothy at the beginning is still there. I have fond memories of setting up a HAM radio station in it. I made my first contact into Asia there. Lovely place to watch the sea and distant isles.
This is so true: "You want it more than you are afraid of it". I definitely need to apply this to my next adventures. I am going to follow you for inspiration! Thank you!
What an incredible adventure. Your filming always inspires me to get outside. Truly Lord of the Rings like you said!! I really feel like you bring such a realness to outdoorsy TH-cam, instead of being overly saccharine you actually document the highs and lows and make me feel like I'm actually on the hike with you! Thanks for another wonderful and entertaining upload. Cheers!
Fantastic video again....skye is such an amazing place and you've done such a great service to the place with your chronicles.... blessings to you look forward to your next trip 😊
Abbie, that was a most wonderful adventure . thank you so much for the chance to come along. I will never get to see that in person but thanks to you my dreams will be much more special. Dwayne
Lovely video Abbie! Was really looking forward to this one and it did not disappoint. Been watching it in parts every morning to get that little 'outdoors' before work ;) Always feel like I'm there with you, ups and downs. Keep up the good work
Hi Abbie, enjoy watching your videos, and getting ideas for future treks. Went up Old Man of Storr super early one gorgeous morning, a couple of years ago, and saw a whale from afar in the sea. Water spout was unmissable! They are there! But hard to see.☺
Watched this in several instalments over the course of the week and was completely enthralled. I've always wanted to visit Skye and now it's firmly on the list - the guide book landed on my doormat yesterday (I hope they're sponsoring you!). Thank you for another wonderful film Abbie!
Another wonderful film. Loved it. The weather was amazing although it can be tough walking in the heat can't it. I am still getting used to hiking over here in Queensland, hot and humid!!
I can't believe the weather you had Abbie, you were so lucky. I've got one of those dustbin stones, essential on the Aberdeenshire coast too. Thoroughly enjoyed your lovely film, thank you.
What a trail, i suppose the sunny weather has its pros and cons for you, the walker, but for the watcher, it made the whole hiike look incredible! The views were insane, every which way you turned, tremendous film👏💪.
I hope to be equally lucky with the weather when I walk the trail in May. Great pictures and a fantastic film. The plastic-infested beaches are heartbreaking. By the way, every cheap sandwich wrapped in plastic also contributes to this.
Hi Abbie , thankyou ,you are amazing lady, encouraging and as you say empowering us to get out there and enjoy our beautiful , scenic countryside/ coast.x
❤ Congratulations Abbie, on an incredible hike. I've just stopped at 1 hour 25, and I'm going to return here later rewatch, listen and jot notes. My anti- anxiety Self Talk only goes so far. Your wòrds 'pushing past fear' lifted and motivated me, and really, are a light 💡for me as I understood what you were feeling and why. Opening shots of day 3 were glorious! Those lakes were beautiful ! Onwards!
Wild campsite day 1 - I had exactly the same spot :) Great views! PS I was hiking and possibly retracing your steps Skye Trail, in June, in a middle of a heat wave. Uff, was hot but the trail itself - epic! Thank you Abbie for taking me back there :)
I may be bias as I lov Skye but that was an outstanding piece of filming. Two hours well spent on a driech day here in Scotland. Thanks as always for taking us with you, also thanks for using your platform to highlight our responsibility to our environment sadly the politicians won't save us, from the ground up indeed 💚
This was brilliant Abbie! Wow it really made me want to visit Skye - but only if the spirit dog is there too! This is one of my favourite vlogs of yours (and I have watched almost all of them). It was great seeing the stunning scenery, your happiness and even your anxiety and the way you bravely overcame it. You go girl! xxx
Thankyou Abbie.. I have done much of what you have done and it brought back many many memories for me especially around and through the Black Cuillin mountains.. Absolutely a beautiful beautiful area.. Many many thanks..
Awesome Abbie! I walked the trail back in 2019 and it was amazing, even though the weather was torrential walking though Sligachan. I couldn't believe the amount of plastic washed up on the beach. Back in 2019 it had been cleaned up by volunteers we met. So sad to see it back in this state.
Wow. Thank you Abbie for a beautiful film. You are an amazing story teller. Can't wait until you're next adventure, wonder what spirit animal will join you in that journey. x
You make the best films around Abbie. I love following your adventures, and your love of nature and the natural environment is inspiring, so it was so depressing to see you come across the litter on that beach, no words were needed!
Great video Abbie. Always enjoy watching your content, we know how much effort you put into making these films, it doesn’t go unnoticed. Look forward to your next adventure.
Abbie, I just finished watching .. what a stellar walk !! Congratulations on another inspiring adventure.. I'm definitely adding the Skye Trail to my must-walk list !
Hi Abbie, absolutely fantastic, what a video, what a journey and what stunning scenery and weather. Thank you so much for sharing it with us. All the best, Dave
So pleased that you aced the weather, Abbie 🌄 Great to see the Black Cuillins. I only know of sky from Mr Standfast, the book by John Buchan, a brilliant painter of characters and landscapes, who's books often involve epic hikes through Scotland and Europe.
Awesome ❤
Haha was so great to meet you! And know I'm not alone with those bushes 😂😂😂😂 hope you have a great hiking season ahead!
are you the guy with the dog, did you get the dog fron a farn in somerset if so the mum is here with me crying at your dog ?
@@TheRanger1uk Nope not me - there was two similar looking dogs on the video.
Hi Abbie
Me and my husband have been watching your videos for the last few days non stop! You’re an inspiration 😊 we’re back in Skye Easter weekend and going to attempt the walk from sligachan bridge. Forget Netflix tonight , Iam watching you 😊

The "gulls" at 14:45 are Fulmars - pelagic birds that spend most of their lives far out at sea that are relatives of the Albatrosses!
Am not able to do these walks anymore so happy to watch your adventure. Good film making, thank you,
Hello Abbie and thanks for another great film, it took me a while to find a couple of hours to sit down and watch.
Abbie, you're a ray of sunshine, the best and bravest hiker and hillwalker on the whole of TH-cam...you the Girl Abbie, you the LionHeart 🤙💚
That'd a cool trailname, Lionheart 😎😎😎
What a lovely thing to say 😊

The plastic beach broke my heart too, Abbie. The camera doesn't pick up the scale of the problem compared to being there.
Abbie - You are soooo awesome - Thank you for being you and doing what you do xx

The Isle Of Skye Trail....going on the list!!! ;-) Well done Abbie. You inspired me.
it's never to late abbs🐻❄
I've not watched much of your films for a while. My heart dropped like I imagined yours did when seeing all that jetsam. Keep up your great filming. x
Thankyou for the trip Abbie. I am disabled and you give me a taste of the joy hiking would bring . Keep trekking and I’ll keep coming along 🥰
Hi Abbie, I can honestly say I didn't envy you on this extreme hiking journey, it was too wild and exposed for me even if I was young and able., and you risked getting your eye poked out or falling off a rocky edge. Definitely a no go area for me.
Thanks for the HC Abbie, if there is a next life I hope I can come back as an extreme hiker undaunted by anything that gets in my way.
Abbie, thankyou for the most epic journey. 2 hours of magic and awe. You made me smile and almost cry. Skye is a beautiful place and you did it proud. Thank you once again for your message.
Oh goodie something good to watch tonight get my popcorn ready. 👍
Honestly Abbie after each of your films I think….that’s my favourite 😂
What a beautiful, spectacular and poignant film that was ☺️
Thank you this was a great film! Two hours of old-fashioned Abbie style inspiration, fun and beautiful scenery.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Wonderful. The approach to the Old Man of Storr was prehistoric or alien, it was amazing.

Fabulous Abbie. Totally love watching your adventures 😊 Thank you
Definitely will give the Skye trail a go! Maybe soon :)
Thanks for this!
Wonderful video as usual, Abbie! Thank you! ❤
Hi Abbie, this route was just beautiful, and inspiring as always. But I must say the littered beach was the one that got me. It broke my heart, I cried. We are such a stupid species.
you know it's so refreshing to hear about the fear. I watch these kinds of videos a lot and no one talks about that. Sad about the horrible plastic.
Hi Abbie, i discovered your channel a few months back and have been watching your adventures. So glad that bothy at the beginning is still there. I have fond memories of setting up a HAM radio station in it. I made my first contact into Asia there. Lovely place to watch the sea and distant isles.
As the February weather keeps me (and my dog) local, I am planning my summer adventures. Wonderful video & inspiring. Thank you
Just wonderful, Abbie. Thank you. 👍🙂🏕️
Always find it interesting when you walk the lands I know intimately. Glad you had such a find time, Abbie.
I love the sound of water
Dwayne
Great vlog Abbie, thoroughly enjoyed watching
Lovely video Abbie! Was really looking forward to this one and it did not disappoint. Been watching it in parts every morning to get that little 'outdoors' before work ;) Always feel like I'm there with you, ups and downs. Keep up the good work
One of y favorite videos of yours Abbie. Always so inspiring. I'd love to do a trail
Hi Abbie, enjoy watching your videos, and getting ideas for future treks. Went up Old Man of Storr super early one gorgeous morning, a couple of years ago, and saw a whale from afar in the sea. Water spout was unmissable! They are there! But hard to see.☺
I had only a few hours on Skye in October, but loved every minute. This was an amazing tour. Thanks.
Great to hear!
And she walked another trail that's on my list :D Maybe I'll do it in late summer. For now, the GR221 on Mallorca is on my programme for April
That was awesome!! It looks so beautiful!
Hi Abbie , thankyou ,you are amazing lady, encouraging and as you say empowering us to get out there and enjoy our beautiful , scenic countryside/ coast.x
Hi Abbie, loved your hike…
Who doesn't love fluffy things?
And seals?
And spectacular views?
As always, awesome video. Very inspirational.
I'm amazed by the lack of trees. It's so different compared to where I'm usually hiking.
Spectacular views from Isle of Skye.
Onwards!
Fantastic video Abbie - Keep up the great work. Much love and all the best on your next adventure.
If i cant sleep because of insomnia, your videos ard my go too. Thank you 😊
Simply stunning. Thank you. I enjoyed it immensely and I look forward to returning to Skye.
Can't wait until you're next adventure, wonder what spirit animal will join you in that journey. x
Thank you so much!
Epic hike and video. Bravery is the ability to walk through fear and you are brave. Keep following your heart.
Skye is a stunning place. I really need to pay it a visit.
You make the best films around Abbie. I love following your adventures, and your love of nature and the natural environment is inspiring, so it was so depressing to see you come across the litter on that beach, no words were needed!
Thanks so much 😊
On my list next year hopefully! Cannot wait ;)
Awesome! Thank you!
Hi Abbie, absolutely fantastic, what a video, what a journey and what stunning scenery and weather. Thank you so much for sharing it with us. All the best, Dave
Another wounderful walk and video Abbie.
So pleased that you aced the weather, Abbie 🌄
Great to see the Black Cuillins.
I only know of sky from Mr Standfast, the book by John Buchan, a brilliant painter of characters and landscapes, who's books often involve epic hikes through Scotland and Europe.
