That is incorrect although in this scenario it fits. It’s gotta do with keeping two sealing faces square to each other. If alignments off and one side is cocked out of wack you won’t get true torque values to fasteners. Torque wrench will read x but bc there’s other forces acting against the fasteners you won’t actually be delivering that amount where you need it which could cause a leak. Also my friend is a great young guy learning the electrical trade. And yes it's amazing seeing youngins holding their stuff together and following instructions from older wise men.

That star pattern actually is solid advice for any profession. Don’t usually want to tighten one side because it pulls inward and doesn’t allow you to properly tighten the other and the whole surface isn’t facing same torque
well we all learn diferantly. thats a good tip also in general assembly its good to start all the screws first take out the slack install them all then tighten gradual working around in a star . not everyone knows especialy young people that cantb even put a spare on a car so its good info
I’m a plumber to I hate doubling wax rings but I recently had to do a new toilet in my 1975 house and the toilet was never replaced so it was the original end up having to put a wax ring and the original wax ring came with a plastic cone so I had to add an extra wax ring on top of that one. I end up just using one wax ring and splitting it in half and using half on the bottom half on top and haven’t had a leak in four years
Before I was a journeyman and then licensed, my first mechanic I worked under explained to me that I should never listen to somebody who thinks they know it all. I still live by that. You’re one of those people. I’m wondering. Is this your business?
The star pattern will allow pressure to be evenly applied, so that you don't get one end sticking up in the air and/or caught on something. Depending on what you are working on, it can be basically impossible to get the other end down.
Just love how you do your videos maybe I should start Doing my own videos. But when I install new toilets regardless I put in a New valve, add supply line and Calk around the toilet.

For me this plumbing work is strange. Here in europe we just have a normal pipe and use one rubber seal and no leaks.
