    Hi. Really enjoying the videos. I’m the perfect example of an outcome based golfer. I’ve also a habit of not turning my hips so tend to have a “waggle” at the start of my routine where I move the club outside the line and try and get my spine over the ball before coming back to address and starting again. Like a lesser version of Adrian Meronk. Thoughts on incorporating this? I also practice this way but have had way too many swings thoughts on the course recently. Obviously results not great . Thx Chris

    • @ScratchAt50
      @ScratchAt50  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Chris , your routine should be whatever it needs to be to help you.
      as you say meronks is unusual but the most important thing is repeating it every time whatever it is which is what Adrian does.

    Thank you sir! I have to be careful about my routines. Last tournament I played in,
    I showed up a hour earlier than me tee time like usual and attempted to perform my routine. Well nothing was set up correctly and I had to scramble to get us signed in and it threw me out of my planned routine. I was done before the round even got started.

    • @ScratchAt50
      @ScratchAt50  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Derek, thanks for the comment.
      Yes sometimes the best laid plan goes pear shaped, I forgot my battery for my trolley and had to go back home for it. Straight on the tee and had a iffy start.

      In a hurry to get to the course, play in a hurry. Mad at someone before you get to the course, it can carry over very easily.

    so i guess we judge a good round by whether we stuck to our game plan and our process, rather than measuring the score ie 89. That way we can have a good game even if don't get score .

    • @ScratchAt50
      @ScratchAt50  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well a good round will always be judged by the score.
      However you should walk off the 18th saying I stuck to my process/routine and that round was as good as it could have been whatever the score and be content with that.

    I've never seen someone have to use little mats before to protect the fairways. Worst I've seen was one of Kyle Berkshire videos. Pre PGA tournament on a major course they had parts of fairways marked off as off limits, whether you had a mat or not.

      It's common practice during the winter in the UK on most courses.

  • @hughmcivor8691

    You emphasize correctly the important of a consistent pre shot routine - something I’m looking to develop.
    Your two putts demonstrated contained of a different routine …. One with a practice stroke and one without. And I recalled from vid one you suggested to play by process not outcome… yet at the beginning of vid two, you judged your shots your driver was “straight down the middle” and your iron was “all over it, but short”
    I would feel a little more committed to your lessons through seeing a bit more “do as I do”, within an overall good video series you have produced.

    • @ScratchAt50
      @ScratchAt50  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The process and routine is totally personal to each person. Develop a routine that works for you with whatever that entails but you must repeat it everytime, that is the key.

  • @sebmarc
    @sebmarc 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Do you have a Stewart follow cart ?
    No practice swing before the hit ? I imagine that, but try it next time. May be 50 years energy save !😂
    Agree with all those pre round routine and not only pre shot routine. It’s a pleasure to take your time before the round too, and certainly after with washing club and have the same process each time. The destination may be different, but the way need to be the same.

      Yeah I used to have a practice swing but over the years its evolved to not have one.
      Everyone is different, you go with what you feel comfortable with in your routine and process but that might not be right for everyone.
      The most important thing is being totally comfortable with your own routine whatever that is.

      @ScratchAt50  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@garyberger8831 there is no common formula, just go with what feels right for you and go with that.
