    Watching Boogie and AD with Jrue and Rondo was one of the most fun times I've ever had watching the NBA. He was a perfect fit for AD: better shot creator so he could take the #1 offensive role, and let AD be a monster on D and the incredible #2 option that he is. Cousins with the ball and AD as the screen man in a 5-4 pick and roll was so deadly and unique

    People forget Rondo & Boogie played together for the Pelicans, & it was one of their most "what could've been" teams we ever had. Boogie & AD were twin towers, and that team had a shot but wasn't able to stay healthy. That's big of boogie to admit the offcourt challenges & I believe Rondo when he says K.G had that type of influence bc KG was a super passionate player. He's actually one of the guys I think would be a good mentor for Z because yeah he took winning seriously but you could tell he had fun doing it too.

    I find it crazy how people can literally break the game down and tell you what you need to work on and how the player(s) receive the news and take it as hating or dismiss it altogether. Like bruh we all just wanna see you be great. You have the talent, the resources, the support, just put the work in. And thats where the disconnection lies. They dont wanna put the work in to be great. To be the best. Its a lack of competitiveness and desire. No amount of money can make a player competitive, its something that has to be inside of you.

      Yes you make all the correct points, but that's why I think this problem is much deeper than what seems obvious on the surface.
      A guy like Rondo I think would honestly be the perfect guy for someone like Zion or a Kevin Garnett, because these guys understand that some players choose to be lazy, but try to really get into understand why they think that way, and convince them that they are really missing out on something greater for themselves personally by choosing to not realise their full potential.

      Any weight loss that he takes on, he needs to balance out his game with a jumpshot and he needs to put in more defensive effort and same on the glass as well. I personally think his current skillset isn’t worth building around. He can’t spread the floor and is currently defensively inept (low motor and mobility)

    What Boogie said. Stop stretching the Ingram and Zion experiment. Zion is the franchise. Surround him with pieces that fit instead of just a bunch of talent. I like McCollum but they need a point guard. Ingram is talented but he's not a seamless fit next to Zion. Jonas can play but a defensive, stretch big would be ideal next to Zion. They have a bunch of assets they can trade for a complimentary star or to free up minutes for Hawkins and Murphy or something. It's as if they're holding on to the pieces that don't fit next to Zion to sabotage his career. His weight aside, he's producing at an all-time pace. Just surround him with pieces that compliment him.

    • @brandongaspard1738
      @brandongaspard1738 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      THANK YOU. just because they are good players doesn't mean they're the right players to surround him with. Hawkins and Murphy, honestly can replace CJ and Ingram. That allows the Pels to bring in other key pieces that they actually need, such as, like you said, a stretch big, that can play D. New Orleans is so scared of losing talent that they're holding on to something they shouldn't.

    • @brandongaspard1738
      @brandongaspard1738 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Zion's physical limitations don't allow him to be effective in certain defensive situations. There is NO REASON for Ingram to be as poor of a defender as he is other than lack of effort.

    Listen up, everybody: This isn’t about what’s best for Zion and his future. This is all about what value Zion can bring to the Pelicans, the NBA, the corporate sponsors, the leaches and the fans. At the end of the day, it’s his life. Personally, I love watching him play! He’s box office every single time he’s on the court. However, I think we’re all being a bit disingenuous when it comes to Zion’s personal health and welfare. Yes, he’s being paid millions to perform and that’s just part of the deal, I get it. Nevertheless, he’s a human being and maybe he just wants to do things “his way.” I wish he would get on a nutritional plan and report to work in great shape but it’s his life and I think we should just enjoy what he’s doing and allow this thing to play itself out. If by the time he’s 30 and he eats himself out the league, so be it. Life goes on.

The organization is doing a poor job in doing that. If it were me running the organization I’d trade him; let him eat himself out of shape some place else. In the 9 games before the Kings win in the quarterfinals they were 7-2 in the games he played in and he averaged 25, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. This is one of the downsides to having a super young locker room. I think you need some old vets, preferably that were/are superstars. Some people need to be pushed. It's clear Zion isn't self motivated and clearly isn't being motivated from within. But he doesn't have an older statesmen around to push his ass. Charles Barkley for instance, he has that famous story about how Moses Malone told him he was fat and lazy and encouraged him to lose weight and it literally changed the trajectory of Barkley's career.
