cat scale may not always be accurate but read that ticket closely! they will stand by their weights and defend you if you do your part and are still cited! also, if you're heavy and need to get fuel weigh yourself before you fill and do some rough math assuming diesel is 8lb/gal (it's slightly less)! and adjust that fifth wheel too if you have one that slides, most trucks do!
Oh really, so I can contest an overweight ticket with my cat scale ticket? That’s good to know. And that fueling measurement tip, is good info too. Thank you!
@@ArlisaSThomas I would weigh the truck ( bobtail) with a full tank of fuel, so you know how much the truck weighs with you in it. That way if you ever get another heavy load, you can figure out how much fuel to get so you don't get into a sticky situation.
Hello. Do you have an overweight permit to carry up to 84,000 lbs? Although I don't believe those permits are valid for interstate driving. Years ago, I worked at a coal power plant (generating station) where I loaded 18-wheeler tankers with 'Fly Ash.' Cement companies blend the ash with cement. Trucks would drive underneath the silo, while I guided them. They were also weighed on a scale as I loaded them. 🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹
@@ArlisaSThomas We had our company drivers, whom my coworker or I would load, and also outside companies would be loaded. It was relatively easy, half the time spent inside the office printing the drivers' paperwork and loading them. We had the scale reading in the office that we would keep an eye on. I worked there for 5 1/2 years, but then things started happening with me, and I was let go :( It was a plant in Thompsons, TX, somewhat close to Houston.
@@ArlisaSThomas The thought crossed my mind to apply at a cement company as well. You can still give it a try if you change your mind. You're making big bank OTR though, lol. :) (start your own trucking business or some business) I've been watching truck drivers on TH-cam lately, mostly guys, and I wanted something different. So, I mostly like to follow US truck drivers from other countries. There are about four 'Russian' truck drivers I follow. There's also a Bulgarian truck driver, maybe a Georgian or Latvian truck driver-I'm not exactly sure-but they all speak Russian. One German driver. I would have liked to have driven those trucks, but I don't know if I could. Anywho, cheers, have fun, beautiful.
Been driving 34 yrs. I love hearing the lie, never in my entire trucking career have I been over weight. so dang failse. If ya left n not legal. It's on you steering wheel holder.
Like a good neighbor statefarm is there😂
Gotta call them when next time 😂😂
Wow .. close call on the weight! You sure are sailing close to the wind.
Stay well n safe.

Check your weight, even if it’s not supposed to be close.
Thanks for watching, thanks for the tip.
At least running out some of fuel will help lessen the weight for truck. 😅
Yes that’s so true. 😅
heh, i did the math on my fuel consumption vs where the next weigh station was once. worked out okay.
i know exactly where that scale is I65 N Tennessee ..
Not quite, guess again lol. I was in FL
