    Drive early in the morning to avoid weigh stations. I hate dealing with law enforcement and government agencies in general.

    Hey man, as a rookie on my own during DOT blitz week I SO appreciate this! They didn't teach me much about weigh stations in school and in a month of on-the-road training, I only rolled slowly over one scale with my trainer. Thank you so much for this video. I subbed. God bless you, sir, and safe travels!

    My home state Alabama has only 1 scale house on westbound i20 Georgia state line but other locations on i85 and i65 are also scales that are in working conditions but no scale house to drive to because these locations in Alabama are all electronic built into the interstate pavement with several cameras taking pictures as you run across these. Treat these as real weight stations because they are watching and will send a state trooper to you or by mail. These are the new way to check truck axle ground pressure (or axle weight), Checks tires and breaks, maybe seatbelts also ( not sure on seatbelts). Good luck out there neighbors and Happy Trails.

    I was given a Poland Spring water load. The load was 46540 LB. Only 1/2 of my fuel tank was full at the time. This was a 469 loaded miles delivery with several weight station on the route.
    The Circle K, Auburn, ME Catscale weight report of this load was;
    Steer Axle: 12000
    Drive Axel: 34040
    Trailer Axle: 34100
    Total Weight: 80140
    When I drived back to the shipper to have the load redistributed they rejected stating my company had allowed them to load up to 47000 LB. My DM stated that the overweight was fine, I could drive.
    When I reached Pilot in Milford, CT which is about 260 miles away from Poland Spring, the weight was 34140 on drive axle as you can see. Looks like the load had shifted on the road hence drive axle was 34140 after about 260 miles of driving.
    Only 1/4 of the fuel tank was full when I weighed it. I moved the tandems forward and backward but the excessive weight switched on axles. I pumped 10 gallons of fuel later to minimize the over weight.
    Today, I talked to Maine State Police Traffic Division Inspection Unit. They said technically 120 LB is overweight, it is illegal but there is a %1 tendency which means they tend to tolerate %1 overweight of load. It is similiar to traffic speed limits. Drivers may drive about 2 or 3 miles over the established speed limits in traffic and officers will in general tend to tolerate it. This is not certain but it is a tendency. When I asked about the practise in other states he declined to answer that.
    So, this is basicly a grey zone.
    My company allowed Poland Spring to load up to 47000 LB. Only half of my fuel tank was full, the load was 46560 LB and after about 260 miles of driving when 1/4 fuel tank was full the drive axle over weighed 34140 LB. If the load was 46860 LB the excessive weight on the drive axle would be around 34440 LB. If my fuel tank was full the excessive weight would be around 34800 LB.
    What would be weight station officers' reaction to 34800 LB on drive axle?
    Can you give a definitive answer to these questions?

  • @wsnow555

    Some stations make you stop, then some stations tell you to drive slowly on the scale. You have to red really fast. I stopped at one and got reamed out and he said move now . I was very tired and ready to go to the truck stop to get some sleep. He could have been more friendly. This I just one of the reasons I quit driving truck.

    What if a new driver reports to his company that the truck is 72000 instead of being the appropriate weight. It happened every time he had a load plus they shortened his training saying that one of the containers hit a pole worth over 7200 dollars but the picture does not show the plate. I told him it sounds like he was set up. Shortening his training and letting him go 8 weeks before prior to avoid paying him training pay and he was not being paid more. He started asking about why after 4 weeks they put him on the road by himself about raise, about insurance, promise to pay a bonus of 300. After 90 days I believe he was also promised a 3000$ check. Always waiting it seemed on purpose to go get one of the containers and when he showed up, it was not there. He would get to the office and it would be closed being told that they don't close early on Fridays. Always on time way before time. He wouldn't be notified that a container that was supposed to be there was 4 to 5 hrs away and just send him here and there. When they asked if he hit a pole he said I would have felt it but I told him that he should not have said well it could have been but I don't think so because I would have felt it and then he was worried about points losing cdl. I said I don't think a picture existed. That day you had 2 tires flat right before you got there because of a wide turn when approaching an accident and ran over a stop sign. You never goo

      They told him he was not going to get any points against him however the insurance company was going to pay 75,000 in damages. I told him that the accident probably never happened and there are no picture but they hit his head light on his car. Told him to fix it himself and give them the receipt. No, they needed to send him to a mechanic. They hit it!

    Lol one of my first run ins was in fact at a station there were three of us running straight truck clocked at seventy five they told us all to pull over. They collected each of our DL and papers I told CHP which is true that I have family in law inforcment and they saif I should mention it.... not to expect it to make a difference and I talk CHP I don't but I prey it does. Few minutes later he walks out and hands me my papers and says I didn't see you speeding have a nice night. Lol the stink eye I got from the other drivers was pretty funny. I have driven just about all sort of trucks and talked my way out of every stop but two. Bottum dump trucks collect tickets like hookers collect herpies. Moral when stoped run with hte attitude of the chp if he's easy going say sorry maybe make light of what happened Yeah I was speeding I thought this was the indy 500 and I had to catch up! Now if he's pissed time to kiss a little ass and for those of you who say I'm never gonna be nice to chp don't worry they got a ticket for that. Save yourself a few hundred bucks toss out a little respect it goes a long way. Drive safe.

Id say do not follow the crowd and go to the game room or hang out and bull shit all night after classes.i seen a lot of people fail by doing this instead of studying. When I was in school I created a study group and after classes we would elect one person to ask questions and the others would answer and discuss these answers we did this repeatedly every night for the permit test. And it worked my entire group passed. so we did the same with the pre trip test. Any one who goofed off or didn't take it serious was asked to leave the group. Think of being at school as one big job interview. Act professional. If you have any trouble once you get to school feel free to let me know exactly what you need help with and I'll make a detailed video explaining anything you or anyone else needs.

      +William England hello thanks for joining. The income during the 28 day with a lead driver sucks honestly. After that 28 days though the pay gets better. During your first 3 months after finishing the 28 days you will make a paycheck similar to as if working a normal 9 to 5 job. At 3 months you get a raise and pay gets allot better and you also start getting more miles which also means more money from 3 to 6 months you make enough to consider yourself financially stable in my opinion at 6 months you get another raise and here you stay getting probably the biggest checks of your life on a weekly basis.. at 6 months you can expect 700 to 1000 dollars a week depending on how many miles you want to run.. The thing people don't understand is crst pays twice a week once on Tuesday and again on Thursday I'm adding both of those to give you a weekly average. You might make 400 on Tuesday and then 2 days later on Thursday get paid another 500 dollars or maybe 150 dollars on Tuesday and then 700 on the following Thursday. I hope this. answered your question if not feel free to ask anything

      Wait you drive a truck and only make 700 - 1000 a week? I don't know if I want to drive trucks if that is it. I'm ding uber part time and make 600 for 25 hours and $800 from my full time job. I thought truckers made 1500 to $2500 a week for long hauls. I read sign that said starting out $90,000 a year for truckers. why are you only making $50,000??? Did I miss something.

    What happened to the Clash of Clans account giveaway at 100 subs?

    • @RobertCookdarkarts
      @RobertCookdarkarts  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +ImSuperiorUrNot that happened almost a year ago . Actually I have it away before I got 100 subs the video was on my channel but i removed it and several others that were not gaining any views it only had from what i remember something like 6 or 7 views. I'm still clashing though i now have 13 accounts I'm building slowly i might start doing some videos on it again and see if it picks up any traction.
