    I ride a 8.5 with Thunder 151s (similar setup as Jamie Foy). It was a little hard at first for flip tricks since it was significantly heavier from my 8”, but I love it so much more now. Much love homie!

    I like the video, however I feel it’s hard to give an accurate idea of what it feels like sizing up if you aren’t flipping your board, cause that’s where the biggest difference feels, either way you’re right in the sense you can get used to it, just takes some time and effort, good video thumbs up 👍🏻

      The flicking part is 100% true, I just suck at flip tricks so I couldn’t really test that💀

    i feel like the 8.5 decks are better for the shove it tricks, such as biggerspins, 360 shove its, and the 8.25 and smaller are more responsive in flip tricks.

    Remeber foot size doesn’t directly correlate to ur comfort, I’m about to start using a 8.25 instead of a 8.5 bc I first started skating on a smaller board and feel more comfortable on a small one, so it may just be on how u feel

    I started on an 8.5 and went down to 8.25, both are nice sizes, but 8.25 is my preferred size now

    I prefer 8.25, but I have skated one 8.5 and enjoyed it just because it felt like more board to catch.

    for boneless i find pregrab like an indy but towards the front truck then take your foot off and push up with that leg whilst lifting your board and foot as you extend the leg touching the ground. then just jump back on, this also opens up easier boneless shuv variations later as going from the side of the board makes it easier to spin :P

    i ride 8.25 and want to go to 8.5 too. i tried ollieing some gaps on my homie's krooked 8.6 and the landing felt more solid caus the board kind of hugs your feet more

    Honestly 8.25 is Perfect its light weight not to wide and Perfect for Street skating and Ground tricks any wider deck will be too heavy and hard to flip 8.25 is the Sweet spot! Nice review btw!

    i like the vidio man but when your doing a boneless keep your backfoot on the bolt so you keep rolling then you grab the middle of the board with your right hand then you can use your front foot to get you in the air , hope this helps :).

    my question is rather should I go from 8.5 to 8.25 or to 8.75 :D
    8.5 is my go to standart, but I do have an 8.25 lying around as well and 8.75 too.
    the former is easier to move around in general, sure, but the 8.75 is very easy to land on.
    often times I actually learn new stuff on the 8.75 and then develop them with 8.5 cause again, landing anything is so easy when you have a big board.
    however, regarding the truck width, I only once skated trucks 1/4" smaller than the deck and I actually hated it.
    definetely going with same size trucks and deck or trucks being slightly bigger, that works fine too.

      I love a big fat board on light trucks, I actually skate an 8.5 with 151s the wider trucks are so nice and stable but it’s probably one of the lightest boards I’ve ever skated

      Andrew Reynolds used to ride Indy 139 (8” axle) on 8.5, he sized down his board several years ago to 8.25 then to 8.125, still on 139s but now mids. Everyone has their reason for what they roll with, and sometimes changes are made as time goes on.
      EDIT: On a recent IG post he's trying out the Indy Stage 4 136(8" axle)

    Hey bro. I'm a beginner and buying my first board soon. I'm 6.04 ft and wear shoe size US 12. When i try to find my ideal board, every website says something different. One for example says between 8.25 and 8.5, while another one says that I should start with 8,75 and up. I just don't know what to buy (thinking about 8.25 or 8.5) i also can't test it out because there is no skateshop near me. Please let me know what you think. Thanks!

    • @jpdayz
      @jpdayz  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      i’d definitely try a 8.5 for starters, i know some people who are size 11 and skate 8.25 , it all really comes down to personal preference,

    • @StretchAus
      @StretchAus ปีที่แล้ว +1

      go into your local shop and ask to stand on a couple decks, get the shop hands opinions and see what feels like you have an equal amount of movement and balance, too small of a board will have you vearing side to side on landings and i find a too small board floats away from me, too large a deck and you wont be able to move it efficiently enough (kickflips shuvs and such all get slowed down with a wider board due to air resistance)
