While BMC definitely won the challenge (he followed the rules!), I really appreciate what you've put together here. I think the mixture of all these sci-fi tropes is a big win actually. I'm really excited to see what you've got in store for the arena battle reports!

"...can we put it on the wall, like art?" Honestly, that's what I was wondering once I figured out what was going on. While it looks impressive and cool and would be AMAZING for a store display perhaps, I don't see much practical value in this creation. While not meant to be a backhanded compliment, I wouldn't blame you for seeing my comment as such. I truly do appreciate the creativity that went into this project. The premise (water guns and toy guns only, AHEM) is cool; even if not adhered to 100%, it was a major part of your build and made it what it is but... Yeah, now that it exists, what are you gonna do with it? If it's not going on the wall like a poster you're going to have an interesting time of finding someplace to store it. I have this image in my mind of hanging it by chains from the ceiling much like stores would have aisle number markers suspended above the aisles or something.
I'm here from Jeremy's video and I'm glad I took the time to watch yours, you've given me some ideas and inspiration for my own projects even though I build for 1:6 scale modern military-style figures.
You did an awesome job and I loved the sky. Sadly, I feel you disqualified yourself using parts that weren’t part of water guns so I declare Jeremy from BMC the winner. (But yours was pretty awesome.) Good luck next time.

I want you guys to know something, I posted a "before" picture for the one week painting challenge on instagram and I didnt finish my project in that week so I didnt even have a valid entry. I still painted my minis some weeks later, your videos inspire me and motivate me to finish painting my minis!

Greetings form the BMC fan base! Amazing job on the coliseum, though I definitely think Jeremy won due to disqualification & and his being simple and easily reusable terrain. Love this though, I now have to stick around to see how it ends up in the long run

Hi to... Black Magic Craft, Luke’s Aps - Geek Gaming Scenics, Midwinter Minis and Wyloch’s Armory. I want to issue you 4 with a challenge, if I may... CLOUDS / TWISTERS / WIND EFFECTS UNDER FLYING MODELS!?! I have been looking at a lot of sites and TH-cam vids but they all seem to focus on explosions or fire markers and not figures that are on clear plastic supports, like Kroak or “gravtanks”. I didn’t just want to use cotton wool as it is very white and a little un-realistic. When you look at something that hovers it also kicks up a bit of dust and debris but I have found this difficult to achieve and have it look good / realistic! Any chance the four of you could give things a go with a vid of your findings / ideas / suggestions on how to make a flying model look more like it’s flying / hovering, please?

I assembled a PC out of parts I found in a skip to reinstall an old copy of win98, I installed Speedball 2 and the game required a specific soundblaster sound card for some reason, I got it to work with the only viable default, the internal MIDI speaker used by the motherboard to give error noises, it was the the most ridiculous wonderous Intro sound you have ever heard.

Came from Black Magic Craft. Not a bad build... looks pretty cool, but....
A) Not functional terrain, and
B) You cheated horribly.
BMC gets the win by a long shot.
Having just replayed some of Space Marine, I approve of your quote. Also jumping out of ships with a jet pack on and into enemy fire should DEFINITELY be supported by the Codex Astartes.

Good stuff. Tip from a carpenter, use MRMDF for your base boards. It's much more stable and won't swell as you add moist materials and adhesives. MDF is a, brown colour but the MRMDF is green.
Not really a apples to apples comparison. Not only did you blatently cheat :-), but you and BMC both made completely different things. One is a diorama background (without the diarama, so I assume your just going to put it next to a battlefield as a backdrop?) and the other is a practical piece of terrain to place on a board. On the basis of your own rules though, got to give it to BMC I'm afraid! :-)
I think Jeremy won this challenge. Both of you guys made f*king awesome stuff but Jeremy made a relatively cheap, kinda modular terrain for games, while you guys made a huge (deffinetley not cheap) background.

Did you get some inspiration for your battle arena from the Dark Eldar Wych cults? Or perhaps the Carnivora from the Ravenor book?
It's very nice, very cool backdrop... unfortunately, you absolutely failed the challenge.
Okay i swear the background music is from Destiny, but i am not sure. Is it from another game? Someone tell me its driving me nuts.
First let me give a small suggestion for this Battle Arena Board your creating. Find some dowels, either wooden or metal then drill out holes for them on the board which will be the base for the Battle Arena... do not glue them in to the board. Then drill out matching holes on the Backdrop Board. Now you should be able to assemble and disassemble the board for play and storage, just keep the dowels in in plastic bag or container so you do not lose them.
I love the look of your backdrop... but I'm sorry Jeremy of BMC won the challenge for two reasons. 1) He made playable terrain, which was the objective of the challenge. 2) He stuck to the rules and only used squirt guns for making the terrain and acceptable crafting filler materials, which you also used as well. He did not use bits from other terrain models and kits.
I still enjoyed both of the videos Jeremy & you guys (Mr. Guy & Miss Penny) made.
Ok hold on. 1. I like your build. 2. but you asked black magic craft to use only squirt guns. You used a hell of alot more plastic that was not part of squirt guns. Jeremy has one this. Am a follower yes. But still. Penny's right. You cheated...
So, not too long ago, Penny was complaining about getting 40k stuff. Then she begrudgingly got into some 500 pt battles. Now shes all in on making terrain and as well as other facets of the hobby. Are we thinking this is due to Guy's power of persuasion, the coolness of our hobby, Stockholm syndrome, or a bit of all 3?

While this is a very cool and amazing "Back Drop" The terrain that that Black Magic Craft created was the clear winner. No extra bits and bobs, completed solo and quicker.

As it is difficult to say who wins I will have to take the easy route and say you're disqualified for non water gun bits rather than saying which is better!
Very nice backdrop, I love the techniques you used and by only doing half I'm guessing fairly easy to keep simmetric (roughly) as you split the guns in half too.
Overall I do prefer scatter terrain, but I will have to look into doing this for my display cabinet.

you cheeky bastard cheating right away... i like it. haha. you have excellent talent, with a dark and sinister 1930's cartoon villain mentality. (subscribed) but i would like to see a rematch. since Black Magic crafts stuck strictly to the rules, i don't think he was TRULY able to showcase his real potential. if ya'll might clarify the rules that "most" of the build has to be waterguns, or something else, but you can also add your own bits, i believe that he's really surprise you and give your paint talent a run for it's money.
either way, i love these challenges, and i liked and subscribed even before i watched it, just on principle of encouraging them more in the future.
Glad to hear batreps are coming soon! I love watching battles but most channels post 1.5-2.5 hour videos with little editing that tend to lose me halfway through, I really enjoy your condensed batreps that keep us in the action!
