      Instead of starting off small I went straight to a 5600w scooter as a first scooter. It's just a little over 2 grand too. And turned out my voltage controllers run at 50 amp each! So mine has been running 6000- 6700w. Top speed electronically limited to 56 mph (GPS tested). The only downside is that the voltage controller can fail easily... Be prepared to replace them. Nice to have extra controller in hand in case if one fails...

    Great Review!!! What is the lifespan on the MANTIS BASE OR PRO??

  • @brassmonkey1021
    @brassmonkey1021 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    I live in the UK and there is a real problem with the stem set up ...even on the new Mantis Pro. I have my scoot in bits at the moment. The issue lies with the amount of space between the machined stainless steel steering hinge / steering connector piece and the headset tube.There is far too much play on my version (new model)...no matter what kind of washers or thread glue you use...there will always be play on the steering set up on this scooter. Over time, the main stem bolt will snap. There is a good video on youtube highlighting this. Unless there is a relatively snug fit between the two parts that I have mentioned, there will be problems. If there isn't an upgraded stainless steel connector you may have to find a fix yourselves. I have ordered some hardened stainless steel shim tape to 'take out' the play.

    When you say the "base model" here in Western Australia ( Perth) we have many different models 😬🤦‍♂️😂 So are you referring to the
    (single motor 800w, 48v 18.2ah battery vairent??) Or the
    ( 500w single motor 13ah battery varrent? ) Or the
    ( dual 60v, 1000w 18.2ah vairent?? )
    Then sometimes there will even be a LG 18.2ah battery vairent 👀 just to confuse us a little more lol. Before jumping into 24.5ah Chinese and LG battery models also?? Which would be the PRO versions 🙄
    God help us ALL 😇 BTW great reviews as always!! I watch them all 😁 and really want a Kaabo now

    I would really love to seem them Update the motors with hall sensors and come up with a better folding mechanism. Those clamps are annoying!

    How does this compare to Nanrobot D6+? It looks to compete in the exact market but being 10lbs more, it has a much cheaper price range of $1699-$1899 with 40mph top speed.

    Can we see footage of the hill tests in the future to get a rough idea of how steep the hill is and how fast the scooters got visually?

      I'll see what I can do. I know saying 10 percent grade doesn't mean a lot because grade and degrees is confusing.

      Might be useful for some to also see a secondary stat on the hill climb with a larger rider =)

      I dont think that would work well for this paid promotional video of the mantis scooters hence it not being in the video. They purposely use a tiny man to ride these scooters as the z10x has a much larger weight capacity, also confusing how fully hydraulic brakes would lose to semi but wcyd the mans tryna make money.

    • @AX5Terminator
      @AX5Terminator 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@SuperSaiyanCj its good to keep the testing conditions consistent. The website does state the zero 10x as a good alternative if you are a heavier rider.

    This scooter sold out the day before this review dropped which is what I was absolutely waiting to watch before pulling the trigger on buying. Looks like I'll have to wait a bit longer for restock. Do you have an opinion between the Mantis (base) vs the Apollo explorer or Pro?

    • @mauriciovirmond7272
      @mauriciovirmond7272 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi. The advantages of Apollo scooters are that they have 24 month warranty and they claim they are waterproof. Also, Apollo pro comes with an ignition key, what is a huge plus considering safety against thieves.

      You can pre-order from fluidfreeride website both the base and pro models of the mantis as of June 4th for end of June shipment.

    You do not need second charging port. It is possible to buy 5A fast charger with single port ;). This scooter is awesome only bad thing is lack of waterproofing. It is hard to avoid rain sometimes. The best thing is that you can byu PRO newest V3 model directly from china (aliexpress) for 1600 $ :).

    i enjoy your reviews and have a question. im in the uk and i weigh 93kg i need a scooter to not only accommodate my weight but also the uk weather and have a budget between £600 to £1000. reliability is very important .my commute is mainly over paved surfaces but do encounter small hills. I would need to cover a range of about 15 miles. thank you for your great reviews keep up the great work.

      UK too, I currently use a kaabo mantis lite plus. Takes me to work and back roughly 15 miles and a bit. Kaabo mantis pro or zero 10x will be enough for us in the UK.. depends on how you ride though👌🏿

      I live in Sweden and consider a scooter in the “mid range” - practical but fun. This seems like it. HOWEVER, how is it in rain or wet surfaces you think? Seems like no IP rating is just way too risky.

    • @trevmsmi
      @trevmsmi 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not as far as I know, the battery would be the problem. Maybe you can ship the scoot by bus ? and you can fly ? :) Here in Australia the bus companies run freight like that (just have to pick it up from their depot), not sure if the battery is still an issue on buses though, I have done my bicycle this way when I was selling it.
