An ancient shell midden eroding out of a high bank....full of ancient pottery....flint.....bone......and Arrowheads. A nice little drill....a beautiful/ornate handle off of an ancient pot. We will hit the same spot........this week. Awesome Site find.....pretty excited.

      Yea it stinks it is broken.....but almost all the stuff will be broken on this. Except for a few triangle points I find whole. I have dug these Mississippian Shell Middens before......it will be lots of pottery shards.....animal bones.....flint tools....and madison type points.....and most of the points will have damage. But it will make for some cool videos. I may find an antler pressure flaker or a clay pipe piece or something. Maybe a bone awl.....stuff like that

    • @rockscousteau
      @rockscousteau  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      It is pretty large. I know of larger ones but the government bought the land they were on and I cannot look them now. Most of the stuff in them is all busted up....they are just trash mounds. I will get a nice point every now and then.....the majority of the items are butchered animal bones....stuff they ate and discarded the bones...which is kind of cool. There will just be triangles in this....and like 75% of them will be broken. I will get a few nice ones. I figure all the pottery will be broke too.....but it will make good videos

    • @SeMoArtifactAdventures
      @SeMoArtifactAdventures 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Rocks there’s a big midden on that village we hunt. but like you said it’s all broken stuff. my brothers wife found a whole bowl in it but it’s a small little bowl that will fit in your hand. we find teeth occasionally that look human. it’s really weird. we just throw dirt back over those. lol. i found a conk shell from the ocean in it too. no telling what they traded for it.

    • @rockscousteau
      @rockscousteau  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Buddy. There will be cool stuff in it.....but it is a trash pile....I have dug them before and most all the stuff is damaged. There will be animal bones from things they ate.....but it is not that old of a shell pile......it is only 800-1000 years old. So no ice age animals. It would be something to find something like this that is like 10,000+ years old. I would just set up camp and never leave

    I think I finally figured out this buying views thing !
    5300 views in a week and 214 likes on one guys channel,is this what you are talking about ??? That's a lot of views in a week right ? Esp.with 214 likes !!!! See when I found your channel I never watched any other arrow head hunting channels after that ! So it took me a while to figure out this buying views thing when you started complaining about it , but I think I got it figured out now, but ?????

    • @rockscousteau
      @rockscousteau  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It takes a little learning to spot it. I use the graphs on SocialBlade dot com.......there are multiple channels here buying subscribers....views......and the only reason I said anything about it.....is the guys here starting out.......with new channels have no idea it is going on. And it is killing them. I do other things.......like bottle dig all the time. It really does not effect me at all. I post those videos of other channels in my "community" section because it does effect them. Channels on here with 4-5-6 thousands subs getting 10,000+ views every video are the ones buying views. Some channels buy 1000 to 5000 views.....a few buy 10,000+ views. It took me several months to figure it out by talking to some bigger channels that do videos on Analytics and the youtube system. I can honestly care less about it to tell you the truth......people are going to cheat on here no matter what you do. There are like 200 websites where you can buy views and subscribers. The only bad thing is this....the main people doing it are pushing videos with far better finds out of the search engine to try and make themselves look good. It is killing the "small channel" and I said something because it was the right thing to do. They need to know.....so they know why their uploads are not getting but a few hundred views for all their hard work.......the view buying is why. When guys buy views I have to upload twice as much as well.....and that in itself hurts other channels. Some guys can only look on weekends....I can do a video on arrowhead hunting usually every trip. Me doing that hurts the little guy too......but I have to do it because of the douche bags on here buying views. There are like 3 channels that have just totally ruined the category. Ruined it. Who in the hell would ant to buy fake views and subscribers anyway? It is pretty pathetic if you ask me....and it hurts everyone here

    That shell midden IS a burial site. Not a dump site. If your sifting that you should be ashamed. Your no different than Richard now.

      This is why you have 436 subs chief. I am sifting displaced material that is eroding into the river. It is 100% a midden. I can tell you have not looked much. And it shows by the 7 arrowheads you found all year. Have a good one. I have dug like 75 of these on the river over the past 25 years. None of them are burials...they are trash pits....full of broken up material. If you have not seen a midden man...you have not looked much at all.
