    Shouldn’t you be using a PAR meter and the light manufacturers recommendation to determine what height to hang your light?

      @proponics  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Absolutely! These are general recommended guidelines, but like with all aspects of hydroponics the more precision you can implement the better. Also as mentioned in the video ongoing adjustments will need to be made as your plants continue to grow.

    Nice video, but it would be even nicer if you added centimeters next time, for non-Americans. ;)

    These figures have so many variables attached to them that there is no point even stating them.
    For a start obviously vented Cool Tube type HID's run cooler than unvented ones do and so can be considerably closer.. There's many other variables too.

      Total valid points, there’s always additional variables. Take these as a general guide to get started, then adjust accordingly as variables become more nuanced.

    Whats your opinion on the mobile app photone, i use it for pffd readings. Im no professional

      I know I've reached for my iPhone spirit level countless times over using an actual one when doing DIY projects. Similarly with Photone It's a fantastic tool to have on your phone especially with a portion of it for free too. Like with all tools it's always a great benefit to have a specialised device but its not always an option for various reasons, be it a lazy one like not wanting to dig out the spirit level or a very real one like not being able to access a specialised light sensor. If you're going to use an app based light meter it certainly seems like/ may be the best one out there. That said I know from having read their website that they haven't done a comprehensive test across all android devices (there are just too many), so your milage will vary across android but will be much more consistent across IOS devices especially the new generation of iPhones.

    So I get the height but what about light setting. Can you place the light closer to the plants at a lower setting?

    • @hanshurnanen7402
      @hanshurnanen7402 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Slighty closer but like he say in video LED 16-36 inches. Lower setting can be close to 16 inch and full power closer to 36 inch

      Doing too close usually prevents spectrum to mix then causing albino (white color on leafs instead green)

    Its about the light's intensity, which is a function of distance AND the lights power! Bad video.
