What Mattel need to do is REISSUE each one of these REDLINE cars exactly the way they were made back then..Make sure they have spring bar suspensions ..
Joe Kyser, yep, human grease is one of the most destructive substances known to man. My old computer keyboards have all melted away thanks to those oils.
Hot heap with wheel caps, not bearing-style? Never saw a 68/69 with caps. I guess since it was in production so long they adjusted to the current practice starting in 1970 I think.
Tears of joy I hope. I love the mint cars and the empty packages sell well. Just got $160 for 5 empties on ebay. That takes away package ripping pains.
Not sure if you've tried this, but if you dab nail polish remover (must contain acetone) onto the back of a blister pack and wait a few seconds, it dissolves the adhesive and ypu can remove the car without damaging the blister.
I can’t watch this lol. They are toys they don’t have feelings. Keep them collectible no? Or do you have so many that you could care less about opening these? Idk aghh
Well sadly this was 10 years ago. Back then blister packs sometimes could be opened without loosing any value. When I had these for sale collectors would not buy them because they were not perfect. But the cars were perfect so I opened them and I have all those cars in my collection still to this day. My wife says I have to start sharing some of my beauties so if your interested in Redlines be sure to see my website www.toycarcollector.com Thanks!
Take te dam cars out them stupid damn packages guys...And RACE them...That's what they are made for.. Get out your race sets- put them on the tracks race the cars...Stop with making these cars things to hold onto for life so you can make money off them...You Redline Hot wheel collectors has ruined this collecting of these 'race" cars. One more time the cars were designed to be raced on the race tracks
Looking back, that raised like 312p is a gem. One of my favorite castings.

Redline Club Black Box Series and 1968 Store Display 50th Anniversary, they have reproduced the originals.
A walk down memory lane.
Awesome collection...
My guess is the oil from the fingers. I never used to use gloves till I started getting some old shiners and realized it was probably a good idea
