45:00 I get the feeling the imperium could be persuaded to come to the table with the eldar but they would have some hefty demands, not entirely unreasonable I should think but the eldar would never accept them. the biggest being that the Imperium would absolutely require whichever craftworld they were dealing with to cease any and all attacks on the imperium, direct or otherwise, in exchange for ignoring the settlements on the maiden world. This demand isn't really that unreasonable in my opinion but there would no doubt be several others the imperium would make, and thats IF they even entered into negotiations at all, the eldar would have to propose any meeting since the imperium can hardly call them up. ultimately the eldars pride is their worst enemy and greatest weakness.
48:19 the eldar never use the tyrannids. even THEY aren't that fucking stupid, to my knowledge only Inquisitor Kryptmann has ever attempted to use them in a manner similar to that the eldar employ lesser races in their schemes. He did this by capturing genestealers, sealing them on some hulks and sending those ships into ork occupied space. It worked...sorta. the tyrannids and orks were beating each other bloody for ages but the problem is that whichever side came out of it would be stronger than before, according to cannon this mess has since been cleaned up thanks to the intervention of the eldar who wiped out many embattled worlds from orbit (eldar exterminatus is apparently a thing) and believe it or not I think Ghazkull who apparently decided it would be fun to krump some nids

But you're back and still going strong and praise the immortal Emperor for that. Thank you Arch, stay golden.
You ask what would be gained from eliminating them? Well what caused the age of strife in the first place? I even think the Emperor meant the webway project not just as a means to end our warp reliance but also as poetic revenge as we gain the opportunity wipe the eldar out.
I always marvel about that such a giant "universe" as Warhammer 40K only plays in a galaxy which is a rather small part of our entire universe.. same goes for Star Trek and Star Wars.. the only franchise I now that really goes beyond that galaxy thing is Stargate... and they only travel to Andromeda.. except for the ship called "Destiny" which literally dives into suns to reload making it basically unlimited amount of time able to travel.
the eldar are the reason that my guard regiment starts all campaigns with massed bombardment and orbital fire on any and all possible targets they ambushed me one too many times now every one pays the price
5:48 only one way to see if that is true, we need one eldar, hell make it a farseer, the imperium is generous after all, and 1000 guardsmen on an open field. whoever wins is worth more than the other. all faithful citizens of the imperium can expect complimentary popcorn as well as butter annointed popcorn to watch the proceedings, "Go humans!" T-shirts can be purchased in the gift shop.
Some correction is due: Other races, including humans, were using warp travel before the fall of Eldar civilization. The Age of Technology in human history, in which humans spread throughout the galaxy and developed all of their technology (which they would later forget their understanding of), all occurred before the birth of Slaanesh and the effect it had on the Warp. The very same warp storms that were created by this event, isolated human worlds from each other and were thereby instrumental in causing human interstellar civilization to descend into the Age of Strife.
I could listen to this stuff for hours! Never have I found a fantasy subject that interested me as much as the Eldar and Dark Eldar. Such a fascinating story and their complex history really is something to dive into and appreciate. Whoever came up with it all is a highly creative genius! Thanks for uploading and writing these. :)
My biggest problem with the Eldar in 40K is if they are so advance and wish to preserve more of their numbers, why are their troops not in a powered suit that would put the Tau and Space Marines suits to shame? The Eldar should also employ more drones that would put the Tau's to shame as well. In reality any Eldar soldier should be in an armored suit that's as tough as a terminator suit but can move like a Swooping Hawk or Warp Spider and carry hefty firepower, while commanding a small group of drones. If the Eldar had a force like this they'd be a much more serious threat to any army.

Also, there is a theory that as the Eldar slowly fade away and die, that when the last Eldar dies, new Eldar god of death will arise and defeat Slaanesh, saving their souls.
***** Well, it's kinda confusing but in there is a theory some Inquisitors hold that there are certain immortal individuals in the galaxy called Sensei who hold a fragment of the Emperor's power, and if they're sacrificed when the Emperor dies (I hope the Inqusition isn't reading this *looks around nervously*), then the Emperor will either be reborn to his full glory or become a proper god and defeat Chaos. Naturally, it's considered absolute heresy by most of the Imperium though.
+Genetic Heresy There's a number of different theories floating around the Imperium (all of which are viewed as heretical by at least one part of the Ecclesiarchy and Inquisition). Guderian mentioned one that has a (small) number of followers within the Inquisition. The one that you were asking about is one that seems like it would be associated with the Machine Cult (hence the "omnissiah" part). In short, the Imperium is so vast that there are probably hundreds of different theories (each with thousands or even millions of followers) that are still in the minority when compared to the official Imperial Cult.

I really like your videos. Gives me material for comparison with my knowledge of StarCraft lore. By the way, you talked about how most other races view the Eldar, but left out one. What are the relations between the Eldar and the Tau currently in the universe's timeline?
The two haven't had any major interactions.. But the eldar would believe the tau and their greater good to be naive.. But they really haven't met canonically.
+The Warden Taking into account what Arch said in a previous video, the Tau are the most diplomatic amongst the races and being more advanced than the rest. Wouldn't the Eldar be a bit more tolerant to them, enough to "strike a bargain" with them where the Tau help the Eldan protect a Maiden World from the other races until the Eldan get their civilization back on its feet?
helldrake77777 no... Eldar would immediately believe that the disbelief in daemons is what caused the daemons and therefore the tau need to be destroyed.. Eldar think like billion year old crazy shitheads that can't die.. Because, yaknow they are.

I was hoping for a mention of the Dark Eldar. Are they just the pre-fall Eldar that were deeply twisted in the pleasure cults? Do post-fall craft worlds ever become corrupted and turn into Dark Eldar craftworlds?
Dark Eldar were part of the cults who managed to survive. But they are not part of Chaos. They even hate it as much as regular Eldar. The difference is just that they don't use the stones to save their souls. One question i always had, and could never find out is why eldar can't just breed there numbers back up. I thought they were made to fight necrons in the beginning, and they lost millions during the war. SO it would stand to reason if they had enough numbers to rule the galaxy, after this war, they could breed at least at a normal rate to populate the galaxy.
I find the potential of Eldar/Tau dynamics intensely fascinating. Perhaps the latter originated as an Old One's attempt to better craft something similar to their prior mistake.

May be 3 years late, but the effort put into your comment deserves a like ^^
Eldar: When you shit your bed so spectacularly that it stains every bed in the galaxy.
Man your audio quality really has improved since these old videos.
I wonder what kind of relations did humans have with the eldar during the golden age of technology, when humanity was at the edge of transcendence.
Your videos got me through some tough times a few years ago and I'm sure you'll never see a comment on a video from five(ish) years ago but I feel like I should still thank you all the same for the content, when your channel got hacked I was devastated, the thought that someone who had been such a large part of my life for so long could have been gone so abruptly SUCKED. But you're back and still going strong and praise the immortal Emperor for that. Thank you Arch, stay golden.
These videos keep me going fam
Hey, I saw this comment fam.
You aren’t alone and I’m sure he appreciates it.
I always like coming back to these older videos.
If Eldars were to be realistic.... babyboomers.

***** eww I hope that shit doesn't happen. Cod and ea must die at some point!
+Genetic Heresy xD just...than you for posting that
+The Warden ea and cod are like roaches they don't die....
+Sultan Ehm Eldar are far more careful with their lives then a call of duty player ever would, usually.

Eldrich Storm.
oh and the fact they may foresee my bombardment is not a problem only victory is and a victory at any cost is still a victory
It doesn’t matter if they can predict your artillery if you shell out the whole area.
Who else can't imagine Slaanesh as non other, than a hugely endowed futa?
You just know that Slaanesh in human form would be a hermaphrodite Astolfo.
I'd totally be down to converse with an LSD laced chimp whenever it wanted.
Lmao that lsd comment was strangly specific ;)
Perfect while painting my army, thanks Arch
Francil K you need a girlfriend and a life
@@emanuelpetreski4561 ah yes the internet troll
@@emanuelpetreski4561 if you think only no life virgins are into 40k, than why are you here? If your correct, than the only possibility is YOU are also a no life virgin.
If this is how the warp work. If the emperor died would he be reincarnated as a god in the warp?
What a great way to start of the weekend thank you Arch! I absolute love these hour long lore videos.
Eldar Farseer: "Monkheigh, your species will one day fall, and when this day comes, we will retake our rightful place as the dominant power of the stars"
Imperial Guard General: "Yeah, we can fall, but at least we can gladly go without the weight of being the ones who LITERALLY MURDERFUCKED a 'god' into existence"
Eldar Farseer: "...that's hurtful, Monkheigh"
Imperial Guard General: "Suck it, pointy-eared princess."
Still a better love story than Twilight.
23:40 Galactic drinking binge, i had to lol at that one
Sooooo the eldar are a fallen race of space elves that get bored quite easily and OCD times 10.
I think it's important to note that it was specifically the ancestors of the Dark Eldar that birthed Slaanesh, with the ancestors of craftworld Eldar choosing to reject the hedonistic ways of their kin. So Craftworld Eldar always had a stick up their asses, and Dark Eldar where always psychotic coomers.
Shift, precise and cunning to perfection, but a well place Basilisk or a dreadnought can convert them in to a very silk paste or endangered species confetti . Pd: in Warhammer dawn of war 2 : retribution, do we really use exterminatus on a craftworld or a maiden world?
so long story short
pleasure cults came to life because of boredom
Space Knife-Ears gonna space knife-ear. This vid is going in the boo-wait, shit there's no Book of Grudges in the grimdarkness of the 41st millennium...
Uhhh, I got nothing
+Spyder3107 The Vox-recorder of Grudges, maybe?
the book of grudges? theres two that i know of, Gullimons got one and so does Lorgar :/
Eldar spots a necron ptsd 100
Yay! Eldar! They are a favorite of the Magos Biologis I am assigned to. And a favorite of my... own... for different reasons.
... heresy?
Oh come on, we all know that space marines are secretly getting eldar booty.
This was very good. Thank you. I'm looking forward to more lore-videos.
And Slaanesh isn't a diety, he's an omnipresent being.
Eldar got bored? They seriously needed overpriced miniature board games and video content creators who talked about the lore of said miniatures.
What of the Dark, Exodite, and Corsair Eldar? Would probably make a good video idea... Just saying.
Arch, one question: Have the Eldar come across the Tau in any large numbers, as in, conflicts?
GirlyCat9001 Only ones I can think of are dow dark crusade and dow soulstorm. And they dont really get on too well. Tau being brain washed bluebarry apes after all. Granted perverted space elves arent too much better.
Depends on the faction. The Craftworld Eldar have mostly avoidet them, ignored them, or are unaware of them. The Harlequins don't care for them and you can bet your ass that the Exodites have no idea what a Tau is.Now, the Dark Eldar on the other Hand have had their fun Messing with the poor blueberries. They basicly offered them help against the Nids, and then brought up the idea of a "cultural exchange" .The Tau send 77 members of each caste and 7 Etherials to Commoragh. Aaaand, in typical asshole Dark Eldar Fashion, they turned them into Grotesques and sent them back to the Tau as "backup troops".
@@draochvar9646 they asked for ethereals after the second swap I think but I know they didn't actually give any of the ethereals over
There hasn't been any major contact yet.
@@draochvar9646 And then went to the Kroot homeworld, taking thousands of the plant-looking dudes because they found their ability to steal DNA through consumed flesh to be very interesting.
Bregil You gotta love a setting in which 38,000 years in the future you can be burned at the stake for believing a machine runs by scientific principles and not magic/faith. I love 40k.
+Bregil the funny thing about the machine god is that his followers don't even know how to make thing they just prey and it just works like the waage if i spelled that right
+Heinz Guderian Do Humans also go to the Warp when _they_ die?
Doesn't the Dark Age of Technology overlap with the galactic domination of the Eldar Empire? How is that reconciled?
I really like your videos. Gives me material for comparison with my knowledge of StarCraft lore. By the way, you talked about how most other races view the Eldar, but left out one. What are the relations between the Eldar and the Tau currently in the universe's timeline?
The two haven't had any major interactions.. But the eldar would believe the tau and their greater good to be naive.. But they really haven't met canonically.
+The Warden Aha. Thank you sir.
helldrake77777 notta problem! Still speculation as the two sadly haven't met..
Eldar, what a creative name to use for these guys
It's more creative than the Ultramarines granted Ultramarines is a much catchier name
I love Warhammer Fantasy and 40K lore, and you Arch recount it Wonderfully. Earned a Sub.
Where are my space dwarfs to deal with the space elves?
Ah knife ears, excellent. But it's no longer Friday, where's my video Arch?
36:04 I think I may be an eldar, guys.

I'm failing terribly at that. Much like the Eldar.
Altrantis in the words of the god emperor himself "it's okay sonny,if she does not return your advances then clearly she does not deserve your attention...take it from someone who most likely ravaged her great great great great(five hundred "greats" later)grandmother"
Warp spider
well done sir. The Eldar lore has always confused me, but your video has really educated me on the matter. all the other videos and even the wiki have not been able to effectively explain the lore of the Eldar as you have been able to
that dark angel vs eldar artwork though(dark angels fan here) absolutely a very good video as well, loved it.
i love your style of fleshing out the lore. good job!
Arch could you please talk with Vaults of terra to ask what he will be doing next so you two can both do a different subject. i love the 40k lore videos but there are so few that i would find it very sad if you would just be doing the same stuff
+TheRWS96 ehhhhh.... i think our styles are sufficiently different to make even the same topic 2 unique things. He is much more of a facts and information person while i try to keep more of a casual conversationalist tone in my videos.
that is true but i would like more warhammer 40k information and bothe of you well.. turn out not so many videos. i know that it tkaes a lot of work to make these vidoes but when there is a posibliaty i woul like more lore.
one way or the other im looking forward to your next vidoe
Agreeing with Arch here. The styles are SO different......I think Vaults of Terra is like...a teacher. Tells you a lot of Information about something. Arch is more like the guy you meet in the bar who knows a lot of stuff about a topic and then just starts babbling and ...babbling and...babbling about it.
And i cannot imagine VoT ever saying "murderfucking" XD
That is true, but still i would love to have more Warhammer 40K Lore.
Oh there's plenty of lore mate :) But: what i can only recommend if you want the -good- lore is to get your hands on old codices and the like. Specially the old orc things are just plain hilarious. You'll find pdf copies of things like "ere we go" or "Waaagh da Orks", the rulebooks of the Rogue Trader Era on the interwebs with only a few minutes of effort. And specially 'waaagh da orks" was purely a fluffbook from what i can remember.
Oh..and do yourself a favor and look up the rogue trader rules for the shockattackgun..you'll laugh yourself to bits! :P
Ahh the story of the Knife Ears murderfucking Slannesh into existence.
there is common theme throughout the elves society in high fantasy. They always waning. Like dreams and unicorns.
Not extinction, more to towards concede from ever glaring imperfect of the world. Seeing themselves perfect beings; deserving perfect world on their term.
nightsage217 that's why the elves in my new book live in the fucking ground and use to beat each other over the head with sticks till the humans came in and set shit straight
I see Arch has been cultivating his magnificent accent since these old videos.
Why are there suddenly tons of ads on this video? What happened?
They had an apocalypse, just like humans with the Iron Men. Yet humans retained a bigger, more prosperous empire (yeah, standards are that low). Arrogance cost them everything, yet for all their discipline, they never conquered the source of their woes.
Eldar helmets, Gnome cones.
The Eldar are my favorite race. They have the most potential in the grand scheme of things.
after skaven they are my favorite too of the games workshop races.
restoring the eldar empire... so much yes... I guess there's nothing wrong in dreaming.
Maybe humans were a second attempt from the ancients ones. Something smarter than ork, but more robust and less arogant than the eldar.
In the name of the emperor.
So basically the eldar have adhd
48:26 iyanden* those damn capital I's are so tricky i used to make that mistake a lot
So, if the Eldar had Trumps wall, then we wouldnt ha e Slannesh? Build the wall ! Lol
Ork war boy: "Eldar breaks easy!" Do orks next!!!!!
Wow, this is one old Arch video. The crappy mic is so weird.
Goddamn bizarre!
They noticed that strong emotions can protect them somehow against Chaos (if i understood it correctly) so they are torturing and fucking all day long. But as almost all Eldar they are to arrogant to admit that they don't actually want to live like that.
But Eldar-Pirates and Dark Eldar often work together because both work most times as mercenarys

what is with the second group of eldar that survived the exodits who life on planets the whole time even before the fall?
I wonder why they don't just leave the galaxy. Maybe some have.
Without the Eldar the humans would have never survived. Or risen to power.
+midconflict If they tried to do what they did again, they would risk causing an another slaneesh to appear.
I normally dislike elfs. But I fucking love the Eldar.
I find the potential of Eldar/Tau dynamics intensely fascinating. Perhaps the latter originated as an Old One's attempt to better craft something similar to their prior mistake.
I think Tau are the old ones reborn?
