please do a video on the different jobs in this field, (ex. 1). what is the difference between a safety specialist vs. EHS specialist, safety officer, etc 2). pay rates, 3). good industries to work in, please. I am looking to obtain a master's in safety, security, and emergency management, with a concentration in occupational safety and safety leadership. My background comes from social work/counseling but wanting to go in a completely different direction due to burnout. Thanks!!
@@SafetySpiel sounds awesome!! I saw some older ones you had done, good job!. Just curious does remote jobs actually exist in this field? There is hardly no industry where I live (rural eastern KY) and would have to move. I wanted to see if there were any positions where someone could work from home?
YES! We as Safety Professionals have to lead by example or else everything we try to say will just go in one ear and out the other! We always want to go home in the same condition as we got to work, maybe just a little more worn out, a little more dirtier and a little more richer! Thanks for the comment Sam! Always enjoy your input!
Hey Frank thanks for the comment! That is a great reason! But remember looking out for ourselves FIRST will allow us to return to our families every night! I love your comment Frank! Thanks again!
Yeah unfortunately you spent all this time getting your degree but the employers still see you as being new to the field. You may have all of the studies down, but now is where the fun begins. You can check out roadtechs.com and there are usually postings for people looking for safety professionals. You may be able to find something on that page. Other than that, just try and find a way into an entry level position. You have a Masters in Safety, however it is going to be difficult to find anything other than entry level until you get some experience under your belt (but it has happened though, so keep your head up and keep on trying!)
Tell us what is YOUR reason for working safely!

As my company's Safety Officer, I do it to lead by example, but also, to be able to go home in the same condition as i showed up! Great video!
