Lefty toured with Lucky White and His Dude Ranch Playboys. Lucky was the original honk tonk captain from 1946 thru 1954. They must of had a blast touring all over the place in those days.
He was one-of-a-kind you will never be enough another Lefty frizzell. He was the only artist I think that could go toe to toe with Hank senior. They both were performing same time.
I'd like to thank my Okie Mother for playing songs like this way back in the day...My Father from North Carolina was the other side of the coin....stoic...
Wow, what a great film clip, hadn´t seen this one before. Lefty´s song "I Want To Be With You Always" always gets to me, one of my all-time fav´rite songs of his, thanks so much for posting this old but evergreen film clip !
The most copied and influential music with his dropped vowels, stretching lyrichs, like allwayas, etc. The master at work,Wonderful, writing those songs. He is missed.
He was very disillusioned and disappointed with his career by this time. He felt the world had let him down, I believe, and maybe it did. He kept plugging away, and was always admired by his peers, but it wasn't enough, and he just got on a downhill slide. A great tragedy, at least as bad as Hank's death in different circumstances.

Lefty Frizell was the original Texas Honky Tonk Hero and everyone else came after him especially with a great voice to match!
I love it how Lefty never does any song quite the same way twice. He was a real human being, and not a machine!
Thank you for this... Lefty is so great, incredible voice, thank you Lefty
Rest in peace uncle Left frizzell from Selena frizzell

Perhaps The Singing Brakeman, Jimmy Rodgers.
They were all so good.
I’m here cause Haggard called Lefty his main influence. Did not disappoint.
I'm a huge fan of Lefty frizzell
He draws you in. He looks at you through the screen. Through sixty years. He's looking right at you. Somehow he knows how.
Love every song he ever sang, thanks for sharing these, I will also!

No Lip Synching here. Frizzell shows how to put it across.
He can show us. But nobody will ever do it like that. It's some rare inner thing he's got.

Even got Kevin Costner on steel.
best singer of all time
The band on this, namely, the guitarist and pedal steel guys, are incredible, as is Lefty...
Daddy used to sing this a lot. He and Mom could both yodel and sing well so their versions sounded great.
The first song.

Don Warden on steel, and Buck Trent playing lead guitar.
This performance seems really subdued compared to his studio recordings. Anyone know why?
