Back in my day a single cartoon wouldn't have more then 2 hours of air time per day... and that was spread through the day, 30 minutes of Ed, Edd and Eddy, then 30 mins Dexter's Lab, 30 mins of Johnny Bravo... and It didn't get repetitive. The fuck is happening to TV...

The way the streaming services are going where shows are separated by network streaming channels, people will be forced to get multiple streaming networks. Causing cable to make a possible comeback in the near future. Instances such as The Office being removed from Netflix to be put on NBC streaming network. Disney movies possibly being removed from Netflix for Disney+ in November. All these exclusives being pulled from other streaming services to be put on others will make the market for streaming services tedious and annoying will require at least 4-7 just to have a steady line up. So I see cable television dying honestly and having a massive revival

when i was little-er than i am now, what was on was adventure time and SWTCW. Then in 2013 ttg showed up and i was too young to know what the original tt was like so i saw a few episodes and immediately hated it. even being 5 i was into action shows from the 80s like dukes of hazard, knight rider, Airwolf, and especially Rambo for some reason. So you can see why 5yo me hated this show.

I live at Asia and I still didn't see an episode of Elements, or the episodes after that. I wish they just do a marathon like what FOX did on The Walking Dead (Even though it is live action, it is effective for new viewers to watch the first to last episodes before the upcoming season or in this case, finale.)

Same, Cable TV is what I want to get into, but unfortunately there aren't many good shows to air as they were decades ago. I don't want to feel bored throughout a whole episode with some commercial breaks. I need time to eat a snack.
Netflix has yet to capture the tv style turn on a show midway through for noise in the house while I sort of pay attention vibe. But 90% of content I consume is online because Jesus fucking Christ 5 minute commercials and people like discovery now have the characters pop in for 60 seconds of bullshit after a commercial break and go immediately to another 5 minutes of commercials.
Teen titans go just has butt and fart jokes and this is replacing good shows like Adventure Time, Gumball, and Steven Universe, or Regular Show. Cartoon Netwrok was actually good when Steven Universe in CN but now the whole channel is dying

Cartoon Network was the only channel I watched when I realized Disney Channel wasn’t good anymore, but now my mom doesn’t want our TV channel provider thing to keep the channel anymore. She doesn’t want my brother growing up watching Teen Titans Go because it’s unfair that all his sisters got to watch actually decent stuff.

Back at the end of December, I developed Cellulitis, and had to stay in the Hospital for a week or so while it was being treated. As such, I did not have access to my computer or game consoles, so I had to attempt to rely on TV to get through the day... Everything else was boring, and Cartoon Network was Trash. Everytime I turned the TV to Cartoon Network, all I saw was Teen Titans Go! I guess the only times I was able to watch TV were The Price is Right and Wheel of Fortune...
I'm a CN fan guy in 2020, and this is what I think: Cartoon Network today is like EA. They are ruining their best franchises and releases some crappy ones. I felt like I've lost my faith on the television channel simply because the best shows on Cartoon Network shows today were not giving more attention or airing more episodes, or making better shows other than that TTG garbage.

What else is there on TV? News and Sports? Both of those have already transistioned to the internet (and quite well IMO). Most of the other big channels (outside of maybe certain non-premium movie channels) also have done pretty well in terms of keeping up with the times
Tv is still an important medium it shouldn't be abandoned when Adventure Time when it first premiered clearly shows that the network can still be a success on tv. So no cord cutting itsnt an excuse here

I do. Adapt or die. People go online because you don't pay a ridiculous amount for channels you don't want. The intrusive ads are ridiculous as well. 5 minutes of commercials for every 5 minutes of content. It makes it unwatchable.
Television is most definitely dying. My concern is how underhanded these TV giants will get to keep the money flowing. Expect more attacks on the internet, attempts to put pay access to sites, etc... Imagine having to buy your websites like you buy channel packs on cable, yeah, that's what they want. Chances are they'll get it too.
I believe the internet migration is due to a few major reasons- 1. Cost- the ability to watch everything online either free or cheap one way or another, as opposed to the expensive cost of cable and 2. The ability to avoid, minimize, or keep away from ads. It's annoying watching 5-10 mins of commercials for every 22 mins of content. You can watch most of the same content online with no commercials, skippable commercials, or at worst have only about a minute of it. 3. freedom to choose. Rather that watching whatever order of selection of shows CN or another station chooses, you get to choose what show you want to watch and how much of it, especially for binge watching.
@ShadowWolfRising Nah. Netflix has a particular niche for movies, and are starting to dabble in anime (to ambivalent results atm). They spent years building up their library to get to this point. In comparison, channels like CN and nick also ready have DECADES of content that they can deploy off the bat should they jump on the internet. And as the video shows, CN already has a lot of content to choose from. If they spruce up the interface and charge a reasonable price, I see no reason why they cannot coexsist. Also, keep in mind that they are still the go to publisher for new cartoon hooks. It'd be a lot more worth t for animators to pitch to a company that has an established brand in cartoons than to take a chance at what is mostly known as a video streaming site.

If i controlled CN.. Here's what i'd do. 1st- Teen Titans Go.. away. I'd still keep it, but i'd dull it a lot. Only 2-4 eps per 2 days. Day yes, day no. 2nd- "And then, we can do this!" I'd add more Adventure Time, Steven Universe,and Regular Show. But i'd also add a bit more of some shows that need love, like Mighty Magiswords, and We Bare Bears. I myself like those shows, and I see that they're doing nicely. So, i'd give 'em a chance. 3rd - "C'mon Skips, you gotta fix this!" Everyone has been complaining that the app is way too glitchy. Never tried it, but if THAT many people are mad, then it must be a serious issue. 4th - Cartoon Cartoons! I'd add a new "Cartoon Cartoons" block to the network, with the old stuff everyone used to love, and still love to this day. Dexter's Lab, the original PPG, Billy & Mandy, Flapjack, you name it. All of the good ol' stuff. 5th - Website broke, sorry. I'd completely revamp the CNsite. It needs a refresh to go with the style. It has to be both beautiful, and user-friendly. 6th - "Where the fuck are we?" I'd air the uncensored version of Rude Removal on adult swim. Ya know, for everyone that wants to see the official version. I mean, c'mooon. Who doesn't want to hear Dexter swear like a sailor?
Thank you for that insightful information, I really didn't look at it that way. I agree that there is definitely a generation shift and that television industry is dying. However I feel that the new creators of the cartoons are part of the problem, a lot of their cartoons designs are similar to one another, lack of creativity, and the story lines aren't exciting as they use to. It's like originality and creativity went out the window.
Here's what I would do: 1. Mixels reboot, please 2. Return Cartoon Cartoons 3. Remove Teen Titans Go! 4. Add new shows or pilots 5. Don't show ttg again
If they were to bring back the old shows I would not be surprised if they instead just made those into crappy reboots too. I mean, we’ve all seen the monstrosity they created out of the Teen Titans and the Powerpuff girls.
Every show on CN has to be a corny comedy with fart jokes and memes. If a show doesn’t get good ratings, they stop airing it and fill the empty schedule space with constant re-runs of Teen Titans Go. We barely see Adventure Time, and Regular Show ended. But instead of showing re-runs of it, they’d fill the schedule with Teen Titans Go and continue to make increasingly low quality episodes with even more “hip and cool” text lingo and butt comedy.

I miss the old Cartoon Network...I remember the days where I would be excited when Adventure time, The amazing world of gumball, and regular show would air. But now....TTG everyday..I missed when the network actually had content..
Powerpuff Girls actually airs a whole lot on Boomerang, a sister channel that, back in the day, aired classic cartoons like Jetsons and Flintstones and the like, but now it basically airs Sonic Boom, Powerpuff Girls, and Scooby Doo exclusively.
The old PPG or new PPG? And it's really goddamn sad about Sonic Boom. After the games were such a disaster, the TV show easily became the absolute best part about that new Western direction. It's about as self-aware of the entire Sonic franchise as Aaron Webber himself is when running its social media, more so when you find videos that compile every time that show jokes about a past game in the series. But instead CN would rather ruin Powerpuff Girls or Teen Titans than promote a show that old fans of the series actually LIKE.

I seriously think that one of the reasons for people not watching Cartoon Network is because how expensive it is for a cable TV subscription in Australia it's over $60aud a month, whereas you can get a Netflix subscription for $15 and there you can watch shows on demand so if they want cable TV shows to succeed they need to try and make the subscription for cable TV cheaper. Even though CN has no control over that, but most who have cable TV that I know only subscribed for the sports.

I remember not being the biggest fan of adventure time when i was a kid but when the theme played i wanted to cry
when i was little-er than i am now, what was on was adventure time and SWTCW. Then in 2013 ttg showed up and i was too young to know what the original tt was like so i saw a few episodes and immediately hated it. even being 5 i was into action shows from the 80s like dukes of hazard, knight rider, Airwolf, and especially Rambo for some reason. So you can see why 5yo me hated this show.

Netflix has yet to capture the tv style turn on a show midway through for noise in the house while I sort of pay attention vibe. But 90% of content I consume is online because Jesus fucking Christ 5 minute commercials and people like discovery now have the characters pop in for 60 seconds of bullshit after a commercial break and go immediately to another 5 minutes of commercials.
The fact they aired the original Teen Titans is hilarious to me.

Cartoon Network was the only channel I watched when I realized Disney Channel wasn’t good anymore, but now my mom doesn’t want our TV channel provider thing to keep the channel anymore. Back at the end of December, I developed Cellulitis, and had to stay in the Hospital for a week or so while it was being treated. As such, I did not have access to my computer or game consoles, so I had to attempt to rely on TV to get through the day... Everything else was boring, and Cartoon Network was Trash. Everytime I turned the TV to Cartoon Network, all I saw was Teen Titans Go! I guess the only times I was able to watch TV were The Price is Right and Wheel of Fortune...

I'm a CN fan guy in 2020, and this is what I think:
Cartoon Network today is like EA. They are ruining their best franchises and releases some crappy ones. I felt like I've lost my faith on the television channel simply because the best shows on Cartoon Network shows today were not giving more attention or airing more episodes, or making better shows other than that TTG garbage.
I know right? Like people these days are super duper money hungry and they try to do crappy things to gain their profit from it.

There are so many good shows that haven’t been officially cancelled/concluded that they could be putting in their schedule. And boomerang needs more of the oldies during the daytime instead of the new wacky races and the wizard of Oz show which could be on CN.

What else is there on TV? News and Sports? Both of those have already transistioned to the internet (and quite well IMO). Most of the other big channels (outside of maybe certain non-premium movie channels) also have done pretty well in terms of keeping up with the times
Tv is still an important medium it shouldn't be abandoned when Adventure Time when it first premiered clearly shows that the network can still be a success on tv. So no cord cutting itsnt an excuse here

Television is most definitely dying. My concern is how underhanded these TV giants will get to keep the money flowing. Expect more attacks on the internet, attempts to put pay access to sites, etc...
Imagine having to buy your websites like you buy channel packs on cable, yeah, that's what they want. Chances are they'll get it too.
Except I don't see that working particularly well for them.
Because Netflix will still DESTROY them in that scenario. Hulu and Amazon as well.
I believe the internet migration is due to a few major reasons- 1. Cost- the ability to watch everything online either free or cheap one way or another, as opposed to the expensive cost of cable and 2. The ability to avoid, minimize, or keep away from ads. It's annoying watching 5-10 mins of commercials for every 22 mins of content. You can watch most of the same content online with no commercials, skippable commercials, or at worst have only about a minute of it. 3. freedom to choose. Rather that watching whatever order of selection of shows CN or another station chooses, you get to choose what show you want to watch and how much of it, especially for binge watching.
@ShadowWolfRising Nah. Netflix has a particular niche for movies, and are starting to dabble in anime (to ambivalent results atm). They spent years building up their library to get to this point.
In comparison, channels like CN and nick also ready have DECADES of content that they can deploy off the bat should they jump on the internet. And as the video shows, CN already has a lot of content to choose from. If they spruce up the interface and charge a reasonable price, I see no reason why they cannot coexsist.
Also, keep in mind that they are still the go to publisher for new cartoon hooks. It'd be a lot more worth t for animators to pitch to a company that has an established brand in cartoons than to take a chance at what is mostly known as a video streaming site.
TV is still an important medium of entertainment. It shouldn't be abandoned when there's still plenty of ways they can improve the channel. They can always utilize bith

Also the app's broken as shit. I spent three hours tying to watch the new Steven Universe episodes yesterday before giving up and seeing Thor Ragnarok. Three hours of critical app failures on two devices. I cannot begin to fathom the terrible coding that did this.

If i controlled CN.. Here's what i'd do.
1st- Teen Titans Go.. away.
I'd still keep it, but i'd dull it a lot.
Only 2-4 eps per 2 days. Day yes, day no.
2nd- "And then, we can do this!"
I'd add more Adventure Time, Steven Universe,and Regular Show.
But i'd also add a bit more of some shows that need love, like Mighty Magiswords, and We Bare Bears.
I myself like those shows, and I see that they're doing nicely. So, i'd give 'em a chance.
3rd - "C'mon Skips, you gotta fix this!"
Everyone has been complaining that the app is way too glitchy.
Never tried it, but if THAT many people are mad, then it must be a serious issue.
4th - Cartoon Cartoons!
I'd add a new "Cartoon Cartoons" block to the network, with the old stuff everyone used to love, and still love to this day. Dexter's Lab, the original PPG, Billy & Mandy, Flapjack, you name it.
All of the good ol' stuff.
5th - Website broke, sorry.
I'd completely revamp the CNsite. It needs a refresh to go with the style. It has to be both beautiful, and user-friendly.
6th - "Where the fuck are we?"
I'd air the uncensored version of Rude Removal on adult swim. Ya know, for everyone that wants to see the official version. I mean, c'mooon. Who doesn't want to hear Dexter swear like a sailor?

Thank you for that insightful information, I really didn't look at it that way. I agree that there is definitely a generation shift and that television industry is dying. However I feel that the new creators of the cartoons are part of the problem, a lot of their cartoons designs are similar to one another, lack of creativity, and the story lines aren't exciting as they use to. It's like originality and creativity went out the window.
Fantasy vs Reality 101 Could be that or networks afraid to try new things.
Here's what I would do:
1. Mixels reboot, please
2. Return Cartoon Cartoons
3. Remove Teen Titans Go!
4. Add new shows or pilots
5. Don't show ttg again
If they were to bring back the old shows I would not be surprised if they instead just made those into crappy reboots too. I mean, we’ve all seen the monstrosity they created out of the Teen Titans and the Powerpuff girls.

Every show on CN has to be a corny comedy with fart jokes and memes. If a show doesn’t get good ratings, they stop airing it and fill the empty schedule space with constant re-runs of Teen Titans Go. We barely see Adventure Time, and Regular Show ended. But instead of showing re-runs of it, they’d fill the schedule with Teen Titans Go and continue to make increasingly low quality episodes with even more “hip and cool” text lingo and butt comedy.
OK KO, Gumball, Steven Universe, and We Bare Bears are still airing and they don't have many fart jokes and memes.

I miss the old Cartoon Network...I remember the days where I would be excited when Adventure time, The amazing world of gumball, and regular show would air. But now....TTG everyday..I missed when the network actually had content..

Powerpuff Girls actually airs a whole lot on Boomerang, a sister channel that, back in the day, aired classic cartoons like Jetsons and Flintstones and the like, but now it basically airs Sonic Boom, Powerpuff Girls, and Scooby Doo exclusively.

And it's really goddamn sad about Sonic Boom. After the games were such a disaster, the TV show easily became the absolute best part about that new Western direction. It's about as self-aware of the entire Sonic franchise as Aaron Webber himself is when running its social media, more so when you find videos that compile every time that show jokes about a past game in the series.
But instead CN would rather ruin Powerpuff Girls or Teen Titans than promote a show that old fans of the series actually LIKE.

I seriously think that one of the reasons for people not watching Cartoon Network is because how expensive it is for a cable TV subscription in Australia it's over $60aud a month, whereas you can get a Netflix subscription for $15 and there you can watch shows on demand so if they want cable TV shows to succeed they need to try and make the subscription for cable TV cheaper. Even though CN has no control over that, but most who have cable TV that I know only subscribed for the sports.
