This is one of the most memorable nights of the Monday Night War. While I'm very much in the camp "if you seen one Ric Flair match, you've seen them all," the man is a legend, and I got chills rewatching this. Of course WCW botched the momentum, cause, WCW. But this nitro was a bright night for WCW
I never cared for Alex wright back in the day but since I've been watching reliving the war, he's one of my favorites I absolutely agree with you. Somebody should definitely hire this man to wrestle today that would be really awesome to see
Normally, I feel like I can gather who won throughout the night but I was like damn, these two shows were loaded. Tie was the right result. I don't remember the other 16 ties, but this may be the highest quality of shows we've seen involved in a split decision.
That KIdman slingshot headscissor takedown was a sick move, I wasn't a Kidman fan back in the day but that's because i was a toolbox. He was always great i just had to mature to appreciate him.

Kidman was one of my favorites as a kid. Very overlooked in the grand scheme of wrestling history . He helped usher in a new style for American wrestling. Also made it cool to be smaller.
And that is how you cut a promo... don't get me wrong the rock and stone cold could talk it........ but that flair promo all these years later still gives me chills just like the first time I saw it live...... the man... the myth.... the legend.... the nature boy...

That Ric Flair promo is *THE* reason why I am a wrestling fan today. I was five years old at the time, I was barely in Grade Primary when this episode of Nitro aired. I never saw this promo when I was younger, but now I've had a chance to watch it, and it really is one of the greatest wrestling segments of all time. I'm including both promos and matches when I say "segment", because people had wanted Ric Flair to come back for months after he was nearly kicked out of WCW. I don't even know if I can properly put it into words, but even it was only for a few minutes...it showed that Nitro could do what they've already done several times before. Just as they did tonight, they put on far better content than RAW in the war when they were at their best. As for WCW when they're at their worst...I have a feeling that's coming very soon. I guess it'll be entertaining to an extent to see how the gaps between now and Starrcade '98 are filled in.

I remember this was the episode I really started getting behind the Rock. He was just SO DAMN over the top! Also, looking back we saw a nice foreshadowing for "The Rock N Sock!"

Even though I had a DX hat & Stone Cold t-shirt on he still took a picture with me. He only joked that I needed some different gear lol.

Billy Kidman vs Juventud Guerrera was really a highlight in 98-99. They had tremendous chemistry and really brought out the best in each other.

The entire cruiserweight division was underrated by those in power in WCW.
