Did he fuzz about you with makeup before your conversations with Artur? Just joking, of course. I hope, you will back sooner or later in Artur's studio. Your conversations are great to listen to. Thanks, Reshala!

I also grew up in Maardu! One thing to note, even in the early 2000s when I was in school we had language immersion (keelekümblus) programmes, which I am infinitely grateful to my parents for signing me to. Basically you have a class of russian-speaking children, but fully Estonian teachers and subjects. As a 7 year old you pick it up very close to native.
So the problems Ilya talks about are definitely true, but slowly but surely improving in my opinion.

Yes! I went to school in 90-s and early 2000s. Things are improving. Especially with a younger generations and new school programs

Thank you, Artur and Ilya, this was a super interesting conversation. Especially how Ilya has changed his mind. It would be great to hear more about it or about Russians in Estonia or elsewhere. Very insightful to hear it from Ilya! So, yes, please, please, please do another episode together, about anything that comes to your mind, be it Ilya's future or else. Thanks to Ilya for doing all the hard work in the background and for propping up Artur's videos. Great job, and I wish you well in pursuing your career as a director.

People from non-English speaking countries (in English): "My English is not that good" ...while proceeding to reply/speak in English...often better than some people from an English-speaking country.
People, who come from non-English speaking countries (this mainly refers to every other place besides US, UK, CAN, AUS) often apologize for their "non perfect" English, but they do better than many English-speakers, cause they at least speak (at least) one foreign language...English. There really is no need to apologize!
Another great interview/talk. Thanks for sharing.

Damn. Well i guess now that i speak Estonian, English and a little bit of Russian i will have to start apologizing for my not so good German. English was always easy for me in the school. And this was before the Internet so i naturally picked it up very well. I also learned some Russian by necessity because i used to live in Valga that is one of the most southern towns in Estonia and it too had a large Russian speaking population. When i lived in Tartu i had to learn German in school but i've forgotten almost all of it now tho i still recognize some words.

Enjoyed this interview very much. His experiences with coming from a aeria with russians outside russia is very interesting, as many countries do have that. Also the cultural differences. Thanks a lot for a great conversation. I also enjoyed the part where he talks about about his passion for photography, and following his ambitions, great stuff. Lots of luck, with such enthusiasm for what he does he will achieve many of his goals in life.
As always, great job, Arthur. I follow your other channel every day, and this one when I get time for it. You find so many cool and interesting people.

Your English is very good and easy to understabd, Ilja. I heard no errors of pronunciation or grammar. Now, whose Telecaster is that on the wall?

DON' WORRY, ILYA. THINGS ARE JUST THE SAME IN THE UK. IF A CHILD IS DIFFERENTLY INTELLIGENT AND STANDS UP FOR HIMDELF, THEN HE IS PUNISHED, THE LYING TEACHER KEEPS HIS JOB AND THE INNOCENT CHILD SUFFERS, BUT OUT OF SIGHT, SO NO MORE PROBLEM. i HAD A SIMILAR EXPERIENCE, BUT MUCH WORSE DETAILS. SAME END EFFECT, 40 YEARS LATER.

I stopped watching 4-mins in because I don't see you wearing your wedding ring! So, this must be an old PODCAST and just filler material while you're on your honeymoon or you got divorced really quickly. 👎
