I am impressed with how well Sir Noel handled the interviewer . His use of word play and his talent for world play and character judgement are so plainly in force .

What a good interview. Radio is such an intimate medium. I think this interview is quite reflective and Coward's observations are cutting when needed but then very warm and laudatory. The interview has some good advice too from Coward. The Master gives a very good account of himself indeed.

Critics of today:" I have seen no signs of cleverness, nor intoxication. I would say they are fairly earnest and with no knowledge of the theatre." Haha LOVE IT!!
So screw Bernhard Levin and Kenneth Tynan. The two monuments to vitriolic pomposity of the decade who reigned supreme in the Sunday supplements.
