- ⚓ Maersk is currently fully dependent on fossil fuels to run its business of enabling global trade. We are on a mission to change that as fast as we can.
Every year, we burn approx 10 million tons of fuel, which leads to 0.1% of the global CO2 emissions. We have committed to getting to zero CO2 emissions latest by 2050, and in just two years' time, we plan to have our first carbon-neutral vessel in operation.
As shown in the latest IPCC report, we all need to hurry up in our efforts to decarbonize, to avoid climate change disasters. Maersk is ready to lead in shipping,
