Would have been justified. Surprised he didn't. Cop put himself in that situation. As soon as he back into him he should have found a spot that wasn't between his car and trees.
That was just a lot of tough talk by the officer. He was so winded and so rattled he couldn't have placed an accurate shot. Probably would have hit a bystander. He's just lucky he didn't have a heart attack.
I like how the other officers are giving the officer who was almost hit by he drunk a "seriously?" look when he was saying he was thinking of charging him for attempted murder. Then they were like. "Maybe assault with a vehicle." .
Glad the officer was OK, I get that he was shaken up and wanted to try for attempted murder but any defense attorney would quickly get that dismissed so I can see why they didn't include that charge.
A bit of advice for officers, never step in front or behind a suspect's vehicle when they're trying to flee. It could very well take a lot more than "2 years off your life".
Yeah the video is going to be good training for him. He's probably going to realize it was pretty stupid to stand right in the middle of that giant car sized hole where the guy was obviously trying to drive through. Situational awareness probably compromised from the previous hit a moment earlier, and like someone else pointed out, sounds like this officer hasn't really been in a violent confrontation like that before, so kinda took him by surprise.
@@singemfrc Yeah, I hope he learned something from it, like the fact that his life is worth more than that. Officers stepping in the pathway of vehicles, and officers that grab and hold onto a vehicle that is trying to flee are two things that make me ask why? Just why?
Why didn’t he fire at least a couple of rounds off at the screen or the front if he didn’t want to shoot the guy? If you are drawing the weapon it should be legitimate to use it surely?
At least 10% fault on that officer. His logic: Stand in the middle of the road where a car is approaching, car just barely makes it past you, then the person standing on the road must say "WHY THE HELL DID YOU TRY TO HIT ME I COULD HAVE DIED" The person was ON THE ROAD, in the direction where the car was heading. If the person used their eyes in the example scenario then they could have avoided the risk themself. Besides, people can't stand in the middle of the road where cars are passing through. If the person got killed because they stood in the middle of the highway, it's on the person, not on the cars, because we can't go from 70 to 10 just because of one lazy person who refused to move in a highly dangerous area.
That's their favorite thing to do. That and grab onto the window and so they're dragged down the street, etc... Or somebody takes off so they grab the person and hang on and get dragged down the street instead of letting them take off.
I mean, it could've absolutely killed him if the guy aimed more towards the cop. but it's pretty hard to prove he had any clue of his surroundings in that car. He was drunk as a skunk. So yeah, the other cop was just like "yeah, that shit isn't gonna stick bro".
The officer should have some kind of remedial training to help him with his emotional response to the situation. Some of his dialogue is concerning and he could eventually react in a way that’s overly aggressive or violent.
@@zuzuspetals9281 Exactly. His response was way overboard talking about how the guy was lucky he didn't put a "round" through him. That is beyond concerning but it'll never be looked into until the guy does something very overt and by that time it'll be too late.
TX has the most strict DUI laws. Your 1st is 6 months in jail, your 2nd is 1 year, and your 3rd or more is 2-10 years in state prison. Plus they have enhancements if your BAC is over 0.15 or if you have a child in the car. I’ve seen tons of judges give people 10 years for their 3rd DUI. Plus even your first one stays on your record for life, the same way serious felonies do instead of falling off in 7 years. Even one DUI will follow you forever in this state.
Even if it was true, cops aren't in the saving business. They are enforcers. They are not going to do shit unless they actually see something and care enough.
Yeah, it would be justified. I've seen multiple videos where they shoot if a vehicle is used as a weapon. It's still admirable that he had the restraint to handle the situation without anyone getting hurt.
I love how the cop is trying to convince them how the driver almost killed him and wrecked his car while his co-workers are looking the two scratch lines on the side of his car and rolling their eyes 😂😂

Punishments in Wisconsin seem to be nearly nonexistent, which seems why there’s no end to these videos
You are correct. Thank all the George Soros funded DA's. They are turning the justice system into a laughing stock.
Wisconsin is run by liberals. They punish success and responsibility, and reward failure and lawlessness.

The drunk driver is just as lucky to be alive as the policeman is. Like he said at 9:55 drunky’s lucky that he didn’t pull the trigger.
Would have been justified. Surprised he didn't. Cop put himself in that situation. As soon as he back into him he should have found a spot that wasn't between his car and trees.
For the cop's sake, I'm glad he didn't. It would have been justified, but then he'd have to live with the fact he killed someone.

His logic: Stand in the middle of the road where a car is approaching, car just barely makes it past you, then the person standing on the road must say "WHY THE HELL DID YOU TRY TO HIT ME I COULD HAVE DIED"
The person was ON THE ROAD, in the direction where the car was heading.
Your videos are truly a work of art. I'm looking forward to seeing what you have in store for us next
New cop: "I swear, it was attempted murder, I mean, ya know"
Old cop: "yea, alright."

The Safe+Sound shirt 😂😂😂
TX has the most strict DUI laws. Your 1st is 6 months in jail, your 2nd is 1 year, and your 3rd or more is 2-10 years in state prison. Plus they have enhancements if your BAC is over 0.15 or if you have a child in the car. I’ve seen tons of judges give people 10 years for their 3rd DUI. Plus even your first one stays on your record for life, the same way serious felonies do instead of falling off in 7 years. Even one DUI will follow you forever in this state.
The fact that his shirt says safe + sound
