Removing a 4th OWI/DUI offender from the public is in the best intrest of public safety. They obviously have a drinking problem and it is time for some tough love. • @Mike-ry4mg
      @Mike-ry4mg ปีที่แล้ว +43

      4th dui in the state of Wisconsin is mandatory 3 years prison time with a $10,000 fine. A signature bond was probably issued due to lack of jail space and the fact that he probably wasn't deemed a significant threat to the public. Once he goes to court, he will go to jail to await transportation to a classification facility to determine the level of security he will need min-max. He didn't walk free promise. Wisconsin doesn't work that way. When it comes to DUI, they are the strictest in the nation and proud of it.

The suspect managed to get into his car after being ordered not to. He was chasing my son in his car, as my son was on foot. This happened in the confines of a gated yard. The assisting officer finally got the suspect stopped by pinning his car against the fence. All of this was caught on the dash cam and on body cam. He still has to go to trial. If he enters rehab, demonstrates sobriety for the entire time between now and trial, doesn't have a record of previous arrests, he MAY be lucky enough to get a deal that will give him a multi-year suspended sentence and drivers license. If he violates the agreement by drinking, he will end up in jail for long time.
      If he doesn't do the things stated, he is going to jail for a long time.

      At least 10% fault on that officer.
      His logic: Stand in the middle of the road where a car is approaching, car just barely makes it past you, then the person standing on the road must say "WHY THE HELL DID YOU TRY TO HIT ME I COULD HAVE DIED"
      The person was ON THE ROAD, in the direction where the car was heading. If the person used their eyes in the example scenario then they could have avoided the risk themself. Besides, people can't stand in the middle of the road where cars are passing through. If the person got killed because they stood in the middle of the highway, it's on the person, not on the cars, because we can't go from 70 to 10 just because of one lazy person who refused to move in a highly dangerous area.

      That's their favorite thing to do. That and grab onto the window and so they're dragged down the street, etc... Or somebody takes off so they grab the person and hang on and get dragged down the street instead of letting them take off.

    TX has the most strict DUI laws. Your 1st is 6 months in jail, your 2nd is 1 year, and your 3rd or more is 2-10 years in state prison. Plus they have enhancements if your BAC is over 0.15 or if you have a child in the car. I’ve seen tons of judges give people 10 years for their 3rd DUI. Plus even your first one stays on your record for life, the same way serious felonies do instead of falling off in 7 years. Even one DUI will follow you forever in this state.
