I got a yellow Jaboticaba tree in a 7 gallon container, in Mesa, Arizona. Looking forward to tasting the fruit hopefully next year.

Hope you get some fruit! Don't be disheartened if the flowers don't turn into fruit for the first one or two years, mine needed some practise b4 they set fruit.

Interesting that they flower on the stems and not the trunk. Fruiting in the shade is fantastic.

Beautiful specimens! I watched a video a few years ago from Florida where they were planting them on the northern side of buildings, so full shade and still getting fruit. I planted mine under my patio after seeing that with minimal light and it’s flowering for the second year, the de Cruz variety is a few years behind.

Please let me know if the de Cruz variety is better than the standard yellows! I have been tempted to plant one but space is at a premium here.

@@dougs_urbanfarm will do, it’s only been in the ground a little over a year so imagine a few years away from flowering. From what I’ve read they are meant to have a better flesh to seed ratio and taste better.

Just as I was about to log off, see this pop up, gotta get the update 😅 I hope they taste good and very interested to hear that it still flowers in the shade. Do you think they won't be as sweet? I really like how you've planted that all close together, gives me a good idea of how to do it on my end. Thanks for sharing!

Hey Pablo the fruit I've eaten in the shade tastes exactly the same and dense is the way I roll, at least my wife always calls me that!

      Very good 😂
I’ll have to experiment on potted stuff to see what does alright in the shade
