I live in the UK where it rains a lot. My Lemon tree has yellow leaves and some of the leaves are curling inwards. It’s not an old tree. It’s currently growing in a pot. I’m going to try the Epsom salts you suggested for the yellowing but why are the leaves curling up? I have just discovered your channel and I love the clear and simple way you explained this ❤
In both the ground and in a pot they need a nice free draining soil. Water them in with some seaweed solution to minimise transplant shock and give them a good watering in. Water every day for a week, then every week for a month then every month for a year👍👍
Bacteria and other microbes in the soil decomposes it into Magnesium and Sulphur, plant usable form. Sulphur is further converted to sulphuric acid that lowers soil pH (makes soil acidic slightly), which all Citrus plants like.
@@underated17 Epsom salt is not the sodium salt that causes the roots to dry up. It is actually magnesium sulfate and it’s good for plants, especially those that are malnourished.
Realized that my poor lime trees original soil might as well have been sponge with the kind of mulch it was potted in. This is why i dislike buying plants from large store chains.
Both my trees leaves are turning yellow thank you so much. I keep Epsom salt, has lots of uses.
I've had a win using your handy tip, what I did was mixed the salts with water and poured it down the deep root watering tubes.
Thanks a lot my trees are inside. I like how they smell.

@@Dopeypatriotprob root rot.
Root rot isn't available for citrus plants in chemical.explaned the name of medicine.
Too much water and your roots are rottening (root rot) get them out of the rain and let the soil dry or better - repot them
Thank you! I'm going to try this.
How often do you treat with the Epsom salts? Thanks!!!
Thank you for this information. I'm going to try this.
Thank you for a very informative information in a short time. I appreciate it
Thanks Becks. I'm off out with the Epsom Salts.
Thank you for this video. Might this also be the problem with my pomegranate tree as well?
Hi Beck, how often should you apply the Epsom Salt? TIA😊
How often do you have to perform this task?
Another great video. Thanks bec
You are so welcome!
Thanks so much for your video😁
Thank you
Great, thanks.
Thanks for sharing. Where do i buy epsom salt?
I started some lemon seeds a few months ago and need to transplant them. What type soil would they require? Thank you!

@@becksbasics1 thanks so much!
Yes a lot better ❤
Here in Netherlands I find epsom salt as crystal to be placed in baths. Or an additive for health? Is that the same stuf?
Yep - same stuff👍👍
Is it the same problem as going pals green?
Thank you, granny
How did this work out for you?
How long do you think it would take to see a difference?
About 3weeks
Will this work on kumquat trees too?
Have you tried it on a kumquat tree?
how long does it take for the leaves to turn back green? TY
Could take a number of weeks
I’m confused, Eason Salt is not magnesium but a magnesium sulfate. That’s not the same thing.
It's water soluble and separates when wet

Don't Epsom salt kill the root
No it’s fine on the roots. It’s not actually a salt
@@becksbasics1I was told the same thing about not using Epsom salt but I use it anyway and my once sick tree now has new growth on it.
Are you sure it’s always safe to use epsom salt for indoor potted lemon tree?

@@underated17I tried to kill some unwanted vegetation and used a lot of epsom salt instead of roundup. It made it grow like crazy .

horribly basic and misinformative.. it could equally be low iron, low nitrogen, off ph, etc..
Quick look at the leaves show not a sign of iron deficiency.
