I am from UP and I have seen those days of "extreme minority appeasement" during past years which has resulted in this massive storm from 2014-2017.
And now we are seeing majority appeasement and every wrong they do is overlooked even if they kill and dominate minority and dalits. lynching, hypernationalism, giving cirtificates on nationalism, love jihad and what not.

It's basically a cycle which cannot be broken unless communal Identity is made irrelevant in elections by U.P. voters similar to what AAP did in Delhi but I don't see that happening anytime soon. I'm a south indian and I have been to RSS shaka, it was not even in a city but in a town, they do lot of activities and they are highly motivated people, it is not a religious group, you might find atheists too, but their love for country and its culture is very religious

I live in U.P west near Delhi NCR & I must say, the new infrastructural developments here are commendable in the BJP govt tenure, that we have never seen in other parties rule...With new expressways, rapid transits, flyovers etc, the other parities were ignorant when coming down to these development.

And I have also jonded RSS shakha, according to me it is really important to be a part of shakha, as they told you about your history. And the most important is, you will find yourself discipline, which even the modern day's expensive schools can't provide you..
I think knowing about your religion and history is not a bad thing.
And because of them, many teenagers actually come out of their home and do some exercises and play sports. Otherwise today's kids only play online games.
And even after this, people spread fear about RSS.

I would say that electricity in our area had tremendously improved in Yogi govt. It was good during the Mayawati gov but was devastated during Akhilesh's term.

I have been visiting UP from almost a decade as my uncle stays in Purvanchal. A drastic change in infrastructure, industries, transport, tourist attractions, etc is rapidly increasing. My uncle suffered a huge loss in riots(2008) with frequent riots and tensions we were unable to visit them. It's been almost 3 years, the city have not seen any riots. He is very happy and we don't bother about travelling to UP frequent.

to be honest i don't know that rss is hindu nationalist organisation until few years back. i didn't even know what shakhas are. i visted rss once with my friend who regularly goes there in 5th or 6th class, we played games sung some songs. later they invited me to event where they told story of swami vivekananda. in 7th class rss came to our school and started teaching karre saamu(stick fight) to girls for self defence , some games and yoga session every saturday. later in 11th class i came to know rss does a lot of polarisation.
Even the Taliban do that. That's a garb. They start beating up couples on Valentine's Day and vandalise your property if you refuse to give donations for Ram Mandir.

I am from Lucknow. Yogi has done what he promised if not more than that. Every one takes advantages of government schemes,(lol majority people are Dalits and Muslims, whom congress is trying to turn against BJP). I had not ever imagined this rise. I hope BJP wins again.

Frankly speaking the development i have seen in the last 5 Years is commendable . For e.g. if we take basic necessities like Electricity in governments before this we hardly got 3-4 hour of electricity a day and not at all on some day ( Exception: Electricity was almost 24 X 7 during Eid in SP's time ) . But now it doesn't matter if it is a normal day or EID ,Holi ,Diwali , Christmas we get almost 13-15 hours of electricity and i don't think i have to mention about infrastructure here. In some regions we are still lagging but hope we will sort them out.
For those who are saying 14 hours electricity is so big for you then to tell you that i don't live in a city or big town either.

No offense but I think you got overly impressed with the methodology. Every single party including AAP prepare this way. But they will never be able to beat the BJP for the next 10 years at least as they are diametrically opposed in identity politics. Let me explain.
Bjp tries to unite and create a Hindu identity othering minorities. Congress and CPI create a mixed identity("secularism") othering upper castes and the culturally Hindu. Regional politicians create a caste based identity and strike up local collections of different caste groups+ significant minority.
Congress model is well past it's sell by date because the upper castes started recognising that even of they were over represented in the government, they were all Hindus who do not associate themselves strongly to the religion(Chidambaram, Kapil Sibal, Arjun Singh, Digvijay Singh). Further the institutions were placed against Hinduism in general (temples controlled by state, a muslim majority state wielding article 370, the attack on Ram janmabhoomi movement etc) and most significantly there was no common identity even between OBCs and lower caste Hindus let alone with other minorities.
BJP on the other hand creates an assertive Hindu identity(others will call it aggressive). This is particularly appealing to OBCs and lower castes as the battle ground is between them and muslims. Further the political movent lends them acceptance and respect within the Hindu fold by not only giving them a role( the mahant of janmabhoomi temple will be a dalit), but credence to thier underrepresented historical figures as fighters against islamization of India. What goes underreported is the absolute ground swell of OBC and dalit support to BJP because the ambedkarite movement/ lower caste leadership offer only a negative identity(we are not Hindus, we want rights for everyone) vs the positive identity that right wing offers( your ancestors fought the Muslims/British, here you go take a leadership position/ role in society and reclaim your glory). Let's not forget Modi is an OBC, what kind of messaging is that? A pan indian upper caste following for an OBC leader.
The only bulwark left is regional parties, who are getting attacked on basis of heredity. (That is why BJP appoints absolute outliers with no political pedigree like Yogi, Modi and recently Pushkar Singh Dhami). They allow heredity only where they don't have a footprint.
Now secular and regional parties have two options, oppose the new hindu identity(instantly getting the ire of the new Hindu identity) or pander to the same( which only makes them a lesser version of BJP).
How are you even supposed to win?

I don't know the behind story accurately but indeed bjp is the most productive party (at least in UP state) in terms of infrastructure development, Hindu social harmony growth, corruption reduction & here other unmentioned fields.
As a UP domicile resident ,I dislike SP primarily because of higher level of CORRUPTION in education, governance & amongst job vacancies but like their development deeds (Congress, BSP & AIMIM etc are unmatchable even with SP. I can't dishonour Akhilesh by comparing these parties with him). 🕊️

RSS has actually helped to bridge the gap between caste in hindus. u cannot say what person are on your other side during karseva . whether he is brahmin , kshatriya , vaisha or shudra , they work together and give selfless service to the world . during rss camps, rotis from all types of families belonging to different caste are mixed together and given . hope u pin this comment

Read Bhanwar Meghwanshi's work or just watch his interviews then you will realise that these goons do not care about caste unity...they think of members of the lower castes in general as vote bank at best & lesser than a human being at worst....
Im not saying that the opposition parties are not guilty of that and completely innocent but just for you information...every party is gulity of appeasing(including the BJP) be it majority or minority...this is the problem with Indian voters...they'd rather vote on the basis of miniscule and utter waste of time topics like religion and caste rather than actual development...
