How to replace URLs in WordPress in 5 mins (also in Database)

- I’ll show you how to replace URLs in WordPress, we are going to use one plugin to achieve this and it will actually also change the URLs in the database.
For example, when I moved my website to a new web host, for some reason, some of my URLs had an IP address instead of my domain, and they appeared all over my site, so changing these manually would take ages. So I’ll show you how to easily search and replace every URL on your website to the correct URL with just one plugin.

i liked the video. but sadly it didnt work for me. i have a website, which on the face of it has three pop up buttons. 2 lead to a form being sent. 1 is a url link. in wordpress admin, the 2 forms are reflected in the popups. not the url link button. i accessed the website and tried to edit the irl as admin in the code. worked whislt i was still in. but on editing. and leaving and going to the webiste anew, the old url is accessed still. i then saw your video. followed it, thanks its very clewar. run the test, then ran it proper. but alas it still links to old url. any thoughts

I'm kind of new, so I apologize in advance, but why can't I just change my domain through Wordpress' general settings, and delete/replace my existing domain?
I'm not sure what you mean. But in general, you can only change domain name configuration in the DNS settings of your domain registrar. The stuff you do with the plugin in this video will just change the links with your domain name on your website. But not the domain name itself. I hope that makes sense

Hi Saharis, do you have a caching plugin? maybe you just need to clean the cache, then you see the change on your site.

go ahead, it won't have a problem. The links are replaced permanently.
This doesn't seem to change the pages on the WordPress site. I see it change posts and other things but my pages arent affected.
maybe you have caching plugin? If you do just clear the cache and try again then.

Question - if my client's new site (under construction) is on Server A, and the current site is on Server B, when we want to make the new site on Server A to go live, can I still use this method?
Do I do search and replace first, then update the URLs setting in Setting - General, then finally, update the DNS A records to point to the new server (Server A)?
in my case doing either 'search and replace' & 'Update URLs in WordPress Setting - General' will both bring the site down. Or should I do 'search and replace' using the plugin first then just update the WordPress URLs in wp-coinfig, followed by DNS update so then I can access the site?
you can use temporary urls on your server A, while building it...
once you are ready, then change it in DNS and as soon as DNS is ready then run search and replace.
If the website is exactly the same but you are just moving servers, then I would use a migration plugin, and if that gives you trouble then a backup plugin + search and replace

You'll have to pay for another domain name
Changing domain name is fairly easy, where you need to be careful is how you redirect from your old domain to new one to retain SEO value as much as possible.

Hi Poonam, make sure you make a backup before doing anything.
But basically, you can use this tool to try to replace all those URLs, you just search for /hospitals/?speciality=cardiac-surgery and then replace it with /hospitals/cardiac-surgery

if you follow this video, you should be able to fix it. But if the extra parameters (?speciality=cardiac-surgery) is added dynamically from script on your website. This will not work.
@@tipswithpunch yes that’s what I’m not getting because they are generating dynamically. Is their any way where I can replace the url with other and get the same result. Like making clone of same page with different url.
Or redirect domain/?speciality=1&city=1 to domain/1/1
you could redirect, but then it's not a good user experience.
Why do you want to get rid of the parameters? (I know it's not pretty, but any other reasons?)

After migration my website link has changed I reasearch lot of youtube but not solve the problem so installed plugin change link what you are saying the process after not changed my link.
I understand your frustrateion. It might be that your issue is somewhere else and not in wordpress database (this is what this plugin updates).
