    What a technically superb production that is head and shoulders above most others. Imagine - this has almost perfect lens exposure, excellent tunnel captures with no windshield reflections and beautiful color that is not washed out like other train videos. And with subtitles yet! Wow, this videographer is a real pro!

      Except for a heavy yellow color filter which kills all the "beautiful color."

      All rail lines between cities with at least a 100K population needs to first of all be built if they’re not already, and the existing ones upgraded to 250km/h, to compete with short haul flights and cars.

    I REALLY like the way Swedish locomotive drivers get going smartly, with no bell ringing and horn tooting like Yank drivers who seem to think it necessary to warn every dog, horse and weasel of its approach. Informative subtitles much appreciated.

    It is utterly beyond me how as many as 12 wretched souls could dislike this wonderfully-filmed, superbly-documented video. I watch far too many of these cab ride videos, and this is the first one I have seen that has not only such profuse (not to mention bilingual) explanatory notes (be ready to hit the Pause button when one appears), but even the latitude and longitude of the various station stops! Herr Kivisaar has just gained another subscriber.

      iltrenocolorato Thank you. :) Yes, it can be very nice to be a train driver. Many times, I've just wanted to stop the train to take a photo, because the sunset or something else was so beautiful. Or the feeling when you go at high speed, and see that you're going into a dense summer rain. A black curtain far away, getting closer fast. Tip: Follow me on Instagram: @SwedishKiwi. Hello Jan,
    I thoroughly enjoyed this video, the subtitles added to the overall enjoyment.
    I will avidly look out for more of your videos to enjoy.

    • @jankiwi
      @jankiwi  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you!
      Yes, our signaling system is a bit illogical sometimes. Red is stop and green is go - that's okay. But the more of green lights you have, the slower you have to go..! And when you see a single blinking green light, that means the next signal is red. :)

    Det är inte alla som hälsar, ens inom samma företag. En del kanske inte vill det, andra är upptagna just då (t.ex. telefonsamtal med fjärrtågklareraren). Svårt att säga. Men de allra flesta hälsar tillbaka.

    Awesome movie! to me the Swedish Railway seems to be very well maintained and is very fast, quick and effective in transporting Swedes where they need to be. I can imagine the system doesn't suffer without the occasional late train but I enjoy the moderate speeds, smooth and well maintained rail and the absolutely gorgeous scenery!
    I would love to go to Sweden someday and maybe even live there. This is definitely one way I would consider going around Sweden in! I also love the SJ rolling stock! I love the X31 and the X2000 and would love to travel on them!

      Poor Amtrak! - it cannot compare to the Swedish Railways shown in these videos - and, adding insult to injury, the governing party in the United States is actively trying to shut it down, which would mean that the USA as a very large country would have no trains (except for a few limited ones in large population areas).

    It would be wonderful if we had a train system like this in America, but it would have to be super fast because of the distances involved. The main advantages would be not having to drive yourself, not having to get to the airport an hour early in order to go through security, and virtually no delays caused by extreme weather. But $435 million for 4.4 miles of track!?! Even including a tunnel, that is outrageous!
