- The Critic's Choice Awards red carpet was pretty much a snoozefest! The looks for the most part were either really boring, or they just weren't well executed enough to make one really feel them on a deeper level! There were some breakthrough moments thanks to Margot Robbie & Colman Domingo, but there were so many others that just fell flat on their face. Unfortunately, it seems that this award show is only about what movie critics care for.

Coleman’s entire look was well put together, ie. the rings, gold boots, haircut. The pieces they choose to match vs compliment was just smart. Talented stylist. Jeremy’s pants were one of the best. I notice every man’s pant fit and where the pant meets the shoe. One out of 100 looks get it right. Jer is the 1. I like why Billie chooses her style just don’t care much for it. This TBrown finally complimented her waistline yet kept her covered which makes her comfortable. Why is the flower the only motif designers use?? My goodness there so many beautiful things in nature they can pull, yet they stick to the flower.

I was drooling over Christina Ricci then Colman Domingo came up next and sent me on over the edge. HOT DAMN!! (Also Christina looks divine and I absolutely love that scalloped neckline with that fabric!)

I have been loving every dress of Carey Mulligan this awards season. Everything she has worn has been so perfectly tailored and she just looks so brilliant with that bob hairdo.
Colman Domingo was IT.
No one else had a chance at this event after his outfit and styling. No one got even remotely close to being THAT memorable. I already forgot all of them…but HIM.

Billies corset was rolling up because it was too tight and the material is stretchy. So it’s climbing, happens with tight elastic dresses on night out.
Yeah, but should not happen with haute couture. If your boning is thin enough that it rides up, use better boning 🤦🏻♀️

@@beckstheimpatient4135 I’m not saying it’s good, I’m just saying that’s what happened, this also isn’t haute couture, this is a custom gown which is different. They should at least have her sizing right at the very least.
That gown’s on their website (£4k if you want one…😁) but I’m sure they fitted one just for her. It looks to me like the skirt’s ridden up a little bit, which happens with latex because it doesn’t ‘slip’ over the skin like fabric. Still looks fab though

And she pulls red off so well, as a pale female I am truly envious she can have the exact red that flatters her. It's a harsh color for a lot of people.

My favourite look was actually Dua Lipa’s. I’m not the biggest Prada fan but something about that dress was just so hauntingly beautiful. She looked great.

Agreed, she looked gorgeous. The colour and the texture of the dress was reminiscent of rose petals. When you pair that with her hair being the same colour and that hairstyle with her bangs in a circular swish motion along with her make-up she looked like a whole rose and I thought that was very obvious. Luke's reviews never do her justice, I'm starting to question his taste.

Dua was the best dressed for me, that texture reminded me of rose petals. Idk why this guy keeps giving dua back-handed compliments when she slays every look she shows up in

Colman Domingo 😍 what a look, everything was perfectionnnnnn the cut was fabulous and the colours pulled together so well- seemed like everything down to the blue lining that made the mustard trousers pop was thought out what. a. vibe.
Margot Robbie looks incredible in that gown- it's going for such a different vibe to Zendaya that it feels like a new dress to me too :)

30:59 I knew Luke would like those boots :) I like the waistcoat, too. Tom does really like a brown suit, like this one of the Cadbury Dairy Milk Chocolate Bar variety. The whole look makes me want to pin a US Marshall’s badge on his lapel. Or make him a Detective Inspector of Scotland Yard. Or put him through FBI training at Quantico and see what he makes of it. All because of that waistcoat 😂 Seriously, I was pleased to see him on a red carpet, especially because of his nomination for The Crowded Room.

Thank you, Luke. You always explain what the designer is trying to do so well. The pastrami dress -- yes, I hated & was intrigued by it at the same time. Yet to learn they were going for "jolie laide" or Edmund Burke's idea of "Sublime" makes a difference.
And talk about a love-hate relationship, I've been thinking about Danielle Brooks's gown. That Monsoori gown proves it's all a matter of how you present yourself and how the designer uses the material. Flipping that tule vertically makes all the difference. And Danielle worked the look; she didn't just passively stand there like a department store dummy!
Can't remember if it was in this video or the Emmys but the tule-and-black-leather(?) dress looked so droopy & sad. At first, I assumed the different colors of white were to blame. But no! It was the blahness of the material from the knees up and the two weights of white tule, chiffon, both? Honestly, they just hung from the hem like Granny's curtains.
Also, love how your closeups really show colors and detailing on everything that might look just fine in a regular, full-length shot.

Julianne Moore’s dress looks like one of those fast fashion ads that show a picture of an iconic Christian lacroix dress on the runway and the too detailed description says: A-line dip dark purple iridescent floor length middle slit pockets gold jeweled broach. You order it, it takes six months to get to your door, and it looks like that Chanel dress.

The fold over yellow Prada dress looks a little more like a peeled banana then a flower pedal to me. I so want Coleman to wear a hat with that phenomenal suit but I'm afraid it would push the look from chic to big pimpin, especially with that over coat. Don't get me wrong I'm definitely a fan of his outfit. Now Billy Eilish's dress I absolutely love.

for Billie Eilish's corset top, I theorize that the hip area is just too tightly fitted so it rides up when she walks around (not shading the tailors who worked on it at all I'm sure they had limited time and fittings). the boning detail on the dart lines of the bodice is also most probably decorative. She still looks super stunning in it, though!

High waisted pants work on Asian women (like Greta and others like me) because we have long bodies and shorter legs, so the long waisted pants balances us out. I respectfully disagree with Luke on this one.
