Go Ed! All that driving would have been difficult for me even in a car. I'm glad you were able to have fun along the way. Can't wait to see the truck unloading. ❤
They're building a buc-ees by my place in Florida, and everyone's excited for the buc-ees, but not for where they're putting it, since it's going on a road that has an on/off-ramp to the freeway that also has an elementary school, a middle school, and an in-progress high school on it, so the traffic is gonna SUCK
That is a 'truck stop' gas staion. Most are far smaller - but at places where major interstates connect... they get big like this to cater to long haul truckers (and locals who want cheeper gas). There is showers, places to sleep and sitdown resturants in there too.
As others have said, even by our standards that one is HUGE. "Everything is bigger in Texas" is also pretty true; but it's also a truck stop, meant to accommodate semi-trucks and lots of interstate travelers as seen. I used to work at QuikTrip (featured at the end of their video) and those are more of a normal size, but even the truck stop ones are usually at least the size of a soccer field. This Buc-ee's however is easily the largest I've ever seen!
It is definitely an anomaly in the US as well. Believe me, our normal sized gas station is much smaller. Heck, some in the NYC area are literally just a little booth to pay and some covered wares between the lanes. But you'll see a conglomerate of different stores or rest centers on major highways. Many times they're the only stop for miles so they get a ton of business. Never heard of the one in the video before though, that must be a southern thing.
Church’s is THE best best fried chicken ever. Miss Texas since I live in Utah! I think that was a fried okra lump. Big Red is like super sweet cream soda.
hey Emily! Just wanted to send you a nice quick message that your channel is totally amazing, i love it, I binge watch it, and I just totally recommend it! Everyone thinks snakes are slimy but since i was small I've had a interest in snakes and reptiles, and your channel just brings it out in a fun and educational way. Anyways have a good day, ty for wearing your mask properly, keep being safe and positive!
From being up north and moving down south I have learned the get stuff moving mentality down here means I just have to leave extra early to make time for the relaxed pace lol
That awkward, painful pause when Ed prepares himself to say Big Red is... "pretty good?" As a San Antonian (Big Red's stronghold) who hates Big Red, I felt that to my bones.
You want to talk about tourists, I'm from Florida more than 10,000 people move here a day. that's not even considering the people that visit. I wish they would all just leave it's so nice Doreen hurricane season when no one wants to be here. I'd rather my house get blown away then the Taurus be here there's so many of them and it feels like they just keep coming 😤🙄
12:20 My Dad is an over-the-road truck driver. Every month, when he comes home, he brings home bread from Wisconsin. He’s also brought home cupcakes and brownies from that same place. I’m not sure if it’s a specific store from a specific town, or just a Wisconsin chain, but my Dad has said Wisconsin has the best baked goods. Wisconsin is known for their baked goods.
Having lived in Oklahoma for more than two decades, I can affirm that Taco Bueno is foul. (Like most American cities, OKC has plenty of excellent hole-in-the-wall, family-run taquerias if you know where to look.)
@@erinboes9139 Here are a couple of the Mexican places in OKC that make great food (consider this a random pair of restaurants. I just happen to have bumped into these two. I think there are probably many other similarly terrific places): Tacos San Pedro and Super Tortas El Chavo. The former is a great taqueria with terrific menudo on weekends (if you're into that). The second specializes in (huge and delicious) tortas (i.e. Mexican sandwiches). The kitchen can be a little slow, but it's a kind of fun atmosphere: they have a parrot and the decor is based on the Mexican sitcom El Chavo. (Also, if you're ever in Norman, the Campus Corner staple Pepe Delgados is always good. But OKC has better ethnic food of all sorts.)
I love buc-ee’s so much. I have to travel to Austin to Houston every other week for business and I always stop there. Great bathrooms, snacks, jerky, warm and cold food, drinks, and even gift items. lol. That’s all I have to say lol

It makes me so happy to see y'all make your dreams come true
5:30 THAT IS A GASSTATION???! Holy f, america, the GROCERY SHOP I visit weekly is smaller than this!
Do you know IKEA? The one we go to is smaller.
America is crazy, but also fun to visit
That is a 'truck stop' gas staion. Most are far smaller - but at places where major interstates connect... they get big like this to cater to long haul truckers (and locals who want cheeper gas). There is showers, places to sleep and sitdown resturants in there too.
Yeah I feel like that gas station has more square footage than the space needle although only been on the top floor🤣
Came here for this comment 😂I laughed when she asked what it was
I'm constantly on the lookout for your new videos cause I'm soooooo excited for your facility!!! You gotta give us a big tour of it when it's done!!
I wouldn't trust Emily with that big of a supply of coffee.
Definitely not lol....
amen
I live in Texas, I really wish we had gotten to meet! But I'm glad you enjoyed it!
From being up north and moving down south I have learned the get stuff moving mentality down here means I just have to leave extra early to make time for the relaxed pace lol
*Im a northerner in the north and I always get places early*
@@cynthiabrogan9215 my grandfather always said being early is on time and being on time is late
That awkward, painful pause when Ed prepares himself to say Big Red is... "pretty good?" As a San Antonian (Big Red's stronghold) who hates Big Red, I felt that to my bones.
Same! It is so gross.
It just tastes like pure snow cone syrup in the worst way possible, it's disgusting
Like, Dr. Pepper is syrupy, but it's the wayyyyyyy better Texan soda
YALL ARE THE BEST EVER (THANKS CHARLES FOR EDITING THIS AWESOME VIDEO)
It’s weird seeing Texas from a tourist POV
Edit thank u I’ve never had this many likes
True
Right
You want to talk about tourists, I'm from Florida more than 10,000 people move here a day. that's not even considering the people that visit. I wish they would all just leave it's so nice Doreen hurricane season when no one wants to be here. I'd rather my house get blown away then the Taurus be here there's so many of them and it feels like they just keep coming 😤🙄
I've been on both sides. Lmao
Right?!?!? So weird lol
Those lorikeets were so pretty! I cant imagine how pretty their colors are in person!
12:06 - both missed the opportunity to say "it wasn't bueno" 😂🤭
Or even better it was (no bueno)
*Emily watches truck leave*
Emily: And we're off!
---
Also Emily: Oh wait, I'm supposed to be on that truck...
😂🤣😂🤣
Penske! Great video! Love to see you having so much fun!
Having lived in Oklahoma for more than two decades, I can affirm that Taco Bueno is foul. (Like most American cities, OKC has plenty of excellent hole-in-the-wall, family-run taquerias if you know where to look.)
Enlighten me! We moved to OKC 2 years ago and have been searching like crazy for great restaurants!
@@erinboes9139 try the lazy donkey
Who would suggest Taco Bueno? Ick! There's so many better places to eat here.
I live in england I didnt know what buc-ees was 😭
I went to Universal Rocks to service some of their equipment today. They are very friendly.
I stopped my idle game for this. NO regrets! Keep making amazing videos, Emily and Ed!
Emily: "Iowa smells like poop."
Me: "Hahaha you should smell Charleston, SC."
Oh and that thing that was in your churches chicken box was fried okra.. and its delicious!
Okra? What's that.
They don't know what fried okra is?

It's a vegetable. I personally don't like it but a lot of people I know do
@@kristheblueberry2319 i guess not. Lol! It's a southern delicacy!
Ahhhh DFW Reptarium! I use to live across the street from there and I miss that place!
I like it that Ed, is now more comfortable being on camera and not saying " you don't have to film me drinking / eating / opening this"
