little fun thing u can do, craft portable light, put in big battery, put it in your back, now u have light around you that spends the battery at least 2x slower + its on its on battery so lasts like 3x overall than your normal pointed light and it is all around you at decent radius. also makes your suit battery last like 5x longer :D

1 more QOL thing, if u use jetpack while mining i think u never break the suit, at least never happened to me since i started using it, u can fuel the jetpack with N or pure O i think also, so its basically free anyways
@@LargelyUnemployed oh yeah right i remember reading that now, it just uses the gas to vent so it gives u lift so any gas will do. so yea , i actually managed to damage my suit while flying today, but i was actively pushing into the ground while mining, otherwise never had any issues while mining with jetpack
@@LargelyUnemployed i played for days without it and then accidentally found it somewhere i think i dont even remember. but yea makes insanely big difference especially since its basically free u can make it on day 1 on new run
i've only tried small miner so far, seems ok if u use like 4+ at the same time, i personally made a line of cables and chutes with stacker at the end near dug hole, so i just build them in 1 line connect chutes and cables and wait and then continue the same line, its not that time consuming and has decent yield, but i'd probably not do like 1 at a time its too slow. maybe ogre would be useful after u dig with the miner first so u can put it very deep? how long would it go i wonder, all the way around the planet? :D probably gonna try out deep miner soon see how that goes, i have a feeling its gonna be pain to process the yields in the centrifuge
@@LargelyUnemployed i finally got around to do it, built myself 5-6 miners with 10+ centrifuges and full system for sorting the stacks of ore, i must say that thing is kinda insane, i'm getting ore faster than i can use them :D
I mean, OGRE and Autominer(small) do have their very situational usefullness, but they at least have double the yield for the mined ore like I personally do use the Autominer for ores I have problem finding
@@LargelyUnemployed there's some rng involved, but from my testing, it gives you roughly 2 times the ore(item) from the same ore mined, compared to mining it with hand drill It even says it in the in-game help XD I tested it on the same iron ore patch over and over again, with the help of save-loading, the results being 10-14 ores with all hand drills ans 20-28 with Autominer(small) (haven't tested OGRE, but I assume it does it too, because it's mentioned in the help as well, but autominer being 2x2 makes it somewhat more convenient to use, albeit not much XD)
Mining belt is not for storage. Unfortunately the game does not validate this so I follow reasonable rules. In this matter it is: no ores in the belt if I want to put it in locker. And no not empty belts in backpack. The only allowed items are tools in belts.
I realise I'm behind on the series but could anybody explain to me why he's using insulated water pipes.. and then puts radiators on them? Surely regular pipes are cheaper...
Ore nodes are to small for automated mining to make any sense. It should be less nodes and much, much larger. And there is no reliable way to detect ores. The ore detector would be good if its range would be higher. Perhaps as some upgrade to it.

You can put any gas in it. The game only cares that the tank pressure is higher than the atmosphere

also u can craft the other jetpack that costs basically nothing, and its 2 or 3 times faster than the default 1, i think it also has 2 more slots

Yeah they've changed the yields on the centrifuge too. It definitely gave a lot more in the past.

Didn't have iron on hand when I went to print these. Was simply just being lazy! Regular pipes would work just fine too.
