Big Bend National Park TX Hiking & Scenic Drives: Cross Country Road Trip in the Van 2024: Day 9

- Join us on Day 9 of our cross country road trip where we spend the day in Big Bend National Park!
After an early start to the day, and entering the park in the dark, we make our way to the Lost Mine Trail, one of the most popular trails in the park that overlooks the Chisos Basin.
We then spend the day exploring as we drive to our destination for the evening: Terlingua to get rested up to return the park tomorrow.

Looks like a beautiful park. When the sun is strong it really can make you feel wiped out.
Not alot of shade here! Yes, the sun is pretty intense, even on the cooler days it can drain you pretty quick. So when they say bring plenty of water, they really mean it. Thanks for watching!
Cannot beat a nick early start and a nice bit of climbing to get those lungs burning but those views sure were spectacular. We always enjoy a visitor shop stop off too and plenty of views to see there on that drive - good memories made for sure, cheers Alan

This is one national park I have not been too.
Highly recommend!
Lots of driving to get around out there. One of my favorite haunts in Texas. We stay at the Terlingua Ranch Lodge for the week when we visit there.

How beautiful! What was the temperature? And what did the temps get to at night?
Temps ranged 60 - 90 degrees. We were there during a hot spell, so experienced some pretty hot sunny days, but it was fantastic ! A bit cooler at night, once the sun went down. Thanks for watching!
