you can easily fix your soles by using cold version of hot glue(idk what its name is).Basically a goo but when it sets it grips just like the sole.So if you can't buy shoe goo and hot glue is too bad for your taste it might be helpful.
Here is lil tip on using hot glue, spread the glue from center of the hole in circular motion until you reach at least 5mm outside the hole, after that quickly scrub and press the hot glue using ice cube while its still hot. You will end up with clear, neat and smooth surface of hot glue.
All we had back in the day was paraffin wax. It works fine when applied very liberally. And use a couple layers of duct tape on your shoe rather than whack hot glue.
Protip: paraffin wax with bees wax in a 3:2 ratio in a pot on medium heat, stirring until melted and mixed. Feel free to add candle/wax dyes for customs colors before popping pouring it into a mold. I prefer using a coffee filter in a bowl for easy extraction.
I bought the skate trainers and they are great!! The board doesn’t move at all but if you only have skate trainers on one side of the board it will still move
For wax I would recommend Howie’s hockey wax it’s what hockey players use for their stick you can get a thing of it for like 2 bucks at any hockey store and mine has lasted me 2 years of skating and hockey
Thanks for these tips, just got back on the board after years of letting adulting get in the way(and a busted ACL) definitely missed it. Have fun out there my skater friends.
@@trontosaurusrex9532 that's awesome to hear man, I've been skating for 2 years now and my progressions been really slow, good to see that your sticking with it and not giving up
I love his deck. When I griped my first deck, the grip tape was sloppy and I didn't do good with it. Knowing that your grip tape job doesn't effect you as a skater makes me feel good.
Not sure how I got here..... I was nodding along thinking, “yea! That would work well as an alternative to what I would otherwise do!” Then I realized I have never skated before...
I always just used a shop brush to clean my grip tape. Shop brushes also work great for clearing light debris from obstacles you want to skate and cleaning out dirt from the bottom of your shoes.
I used 2 Velcro strips to cover up a hole in my shoe, 1 in the shoe, 1 and 1 outside of the hole. You can also just put 1 inside the shoe and add extra Velcro to secure it and it works very well
Thanks for another helpful vid! - def gunna try those tennis balls, actually havent seen that done before.... having trouble learning heelflips right now 😵 Love my 2 liter balance board, has helped my manual game soooo much!
Great video, just be careful when attempting tricks on the balance board. Broke my arm attempting a frontside shuvit, as the board completely slipped out from under my feet.
I think ima try tennis balls because rn I can do Ollie without moving and holding to something however I can’t do it regularly I feel like the tennis will help me start adjusting to moving wheels but not completely moving
My country is not that big on skating so these are the only options available for me even though if I have the money, this video is honestly much appreciated.
Pariffin Wax with Cooking Oil, Motor Oil, or Grease mixed in is cheap, slides well, and doesn't flake. Melt down the Paraffin Wax, add the oil/grease (1-2 tablespoons per bar) , mix, and let harden. Prayer Candles (without the picture on it) are cheap and contain oil in them. You slide well with a little. You just have to carefully break the glass off, cut into segments, and put a segment in a zip lock bag wrapped in a towel, so it doesn't melt.
Koichi the Hamon consumer if your doing a trick like a kickflip or tre flip it helps me to really bring your knees up to your chest. What I used to do was pop and then put my back foot straight on the ground but when you bring your knee up to your chest your only option really is just to land.
1. Grass or carpet is abundant and free. 2. Bar soap is WAY more slippery than wax, it's cheaper still and it'll make your deck smell all rosy for the ladies too. Also, in case you think the curb, bar, ledge etc is too slippery, you can rinse it off easily. 3. Goo. Nothing compares. Hot glue is more like plastic when it hardens, making for a slippery experience. 4. There was already a perfectly useful fulcrum underneath that board before you took the trucks off. I even think that stationary wheelie practice gives you more bang for your buck than the balance board would. 5. Good call. On the other hand you could buy nothing and the grip would cure itself via abrasion as the shoe drags across it. 600 nbs is 600 nbs.
Surf wax works good too. My local shop sells wax for about $2. I live in Hawaii so it’s readily available, and dual purpose for me. Plus it smells good too
He makes a point with supporting skate products, however not everyone is rich or can afford a lot. Just a skateboard complete can be too expensive for some, and even the best ones won't last long. A few months or years only. And the big companies are doing well for themselves, and all these various products "specially designed" for skateboarding have almost similar cheaper products available. Only thing that really matters buying are skateboard decks and all it's parts, I even found that I can skate exactly the same with regular, non-skate shoes, and no they don't get destroyed faster, even skate shoes themselves won't last long either.
I see a lot of comments saying "just tighten your wheels instead of buying skater trainers". Dont do that because they will ruin your bearings. You wanna take care of them since they're pretty expensive
If you're old like me you have a foam roller to help roll out the muscles. You can use that also to try to balance on a deck. Serves a dual purpose but not as cheap as a 2 liter of soda.
Great video loved this info. I'm thinking of trying the balance board hack but I'm a heavy, heavy guy and I don't know if a 2 liter will support my weight..
Great idea with the tennis balls. I like to practice in the grass but the ground is pretty soft and little uneven so I don't get the good pop. With the tennis balls, I can practice on flat concrete. Plus I play tennis a lot and can simply use my old used tennis balls.
Never in my years of skating, have I used grip cleaner. If it ever got bad enough, id just rinse it with a hose for a second or two. I wasn't really aware of it lol

You can use deoderant instead of wax
I already use that hot glue tactic. It’s way better trust me y’all

For the skate stoppers, you can literally just tighten your wheels really tight and they won't move it loosen them so they move a little
