Yeah exactly. There is a pair of them in the Zoo of the city where I live, they are amazing! Although I saw that they could be very peaceful - when I saw one of them laying on the ground and a small cat was purring to the cassowary hehe - it's still strange to see them walking among people so peacefully.
Jon Jones Hyperbole. They are not dreaded killers. They need to be respected and kept at a distance. Humans again have messed with nature by feeding them, which makes the affected ones more aggressive and dangerous to humans. If humans would leave them be there’d be no problem.
Ok, I'm overreacting, but your video brought me to tears. Thank you so much, I've never been to Australia, and chances are, will never go. But this video brought it all so close! Thank you, thank you, thank you so much! Especially for the chick :)
Nice video! The choice of music is perfect and I love how you choose JP font for the ending card. Also, very educational for me - I hear all the time how aggressive they are, but here they seem to be completely indifferent to humans.
Cassowaries are not to be messed with. I read a news article about a man who kept a "pet" cassowary. He was cleaning the enclosure, slipped and fell, and the cassowary rushed up to him and kicked him to death. Not sure if he ate him.
@@jimcrawford5039 You should read more about this amazing bird, then you may find out why this is the closest animal to a dinosaur in the modern world.
And now we need to do something to help these birds they are so fascinating and special and they are on the road to extinction. I do not live in Australia though I am Australian and know a lot about these birds. So somebody in Australia needs to step up and help these birds!
Hi there! We are making a short film about Cassowary Conservation in the mission beach area, but we're finding it difficult to get good shots of Cassowaries! :P I was wondering if you would be happy for us to include some of the shots you have made here? We will credit you and your TH-cam channel in the video and link to it in the description as well, let us know what you think :) Thanks!
Steve Irwin, the naturalist, who didn’t fear anything, was terrified of these birds. He kept some at his zoo. He said, at any minute, you do not know what they will do or what will set them off. They can appear friendly at one minute and then attack. So even if this bird appears very tame, petting one would be dumb. You see people with emus as pets, but not cassowaries. They are very strong and can injure or kill a person easily.
omg i just love the bird . i wish it was a little a bigger in size . and also i would like to create a cross btw cassowary and an eagle .. i know they are really far from one another i the tree
Baby is so cute but still I am never going near a Cassowary. This bird is known to kill any human with those daggered claws. Cassowaries are bad-tempered and you had the courage to get this close to that cranky deadly bird.
There is only one recorded death. In the early 20th century a young boy was kicked by one after he fell. He died after his carotid artery was severed. They can be dangerous yes but forget the hype about them. Emus can be just as dangerous but there are never any problems, and THEY are everywhere!
I also saw a YT interview with a woman who knows a “local cassowary” that is extremely friendly. It’s a female and she said it’s not aggressive at all and actually everyone loves her. She’s a well known resident. Wish I could remember where I saw the video!
They can be, but that reputation is undeserved. They don't mess with people unless threatened or harassed. The cassowaries at Etty Bay are quite peaceful around people.
You talking about this story? Link here: www.theguardian.com/us-news/2019/apr/14/cassowary-attack-giant-bird-kills-owner-in-florida-after-he-fell It's really sad and crazy! That poor man. But these birds should definitely be taken seriously!

I agree with you, Matt Summers. It seem to come out of a scene of "Jurassic Park" ;)
ALL birds are living dinosaurs
Probably one of the most magnificent species of flightless birds alive today!
But they are toó dangerous
no they're beautiful!
@@luispineda6439 humans are more dangerous, and don't worry, that few won't find you on the way to work

Very respectful citizens with this bird that deserves to live as much as we do.
I wish I would have seen one in the wild. They need to be protected because they are really something special! Thanks for sharing.

The chicks are so cute😍
Although a bit delayed to the “party”, I’m a lucky girl as your video collection is timeless. And the music, 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🧡🪔🍂🪷thank you
From 2:00-2:09 the cassowary almost seems to like the attention it's getting. It's almost like it's saying "be sure to get my good side."
Nice video! The choice of music is perfect and I love how you choose JP font for the ending card. Also, very educational for me - I hear all the time how aggressive they are, but here they seem to be completely indifferent to humans.
Thank you! Yes, they can be aggressive, but as you can see in the video, this aggression has been quite sensationalized.

No, they're not made to feed on flesh, they're mostly fruit-eaters that sometimes eat small animals which they can swallow whole.
At 00:05 you're essentially seeing what a real live dinosaur's feet looked like ;)
Victor R it’s a bird for Christ’s sake. You watch too many movies. Australia.
