NO + NO + GUN = HUNT, it can be easily solved by looking at options. We know that H=1 and U=0, so it is clear that the number would be 10XX, by looking at options it is clear that 1st option is the only one matching the pattern....................so before attempting the question people should take a glance at options...........if the options are not helping then off course we need to solve it. BTW this video helped me a lot in understanding the tips and tricks for cryptarithmetic questions which earlier looked harder to me to solve. Thankyou!!!!!

For the addition of three numbers, is there a condition that maximum carry can be 1 .? because for eg. HUNT question, sir has directly taken carry to be 1 where it can be 2 as well.

Look at the options, there's no 11xx number present. So obviously it has to be 10 or 12 at the first two places, but 12 is not possible so, first option is the right answer so you don't need to solve the last question.

yup i agree that was really easy i noted the question and solved it by my own before looking to its solution but the last one took around 3min to solve.
In that USSR+ USA question, after finding the values of U, P and E, if you will apply hit and trial method for S+U=A (S+9=A, as we already have found out U=9) then you'll get answer faster. In S+9=A, As 1 and 0 are already occupied by P and E respectively, so resultant A can't be 11 or 12. Therefore you can go for adding 3 to 9 directly to make the resultant 12. And so the value of A wilo become 2 and the rest parts will become pretty easy.
@@kaali9658 and thats the reason why we are choosing 1 instead of carry=2 . We can assume it but thats not possible with carry 2 so we are going with 1
In the quastion USSAR + USA = PEACE why P can not have value 0. Suppose if E has less than 10. We only know that U + 1 = E . We cannot say that E is always greater than 10 . If E is less than 10 there is no carry so P = 0
The number at that place won't have any significance if P=0. For ex, we say 1500 not 01500 even though both are same. Just think of it as rule that the first character cannot be 0 in any case.
In USSR + USA = PEACE question, (S,A)= (4,3) is also possible, in addition to (3,2). Accordingly, U=9, S=4, R=7, A=3, P=1, E=0, and C=8. Somebody please confirm this...
If we put S=4 then on adding S+S+ 1 A will be equal to 9 which is contradicting U=9 Instead I tried putting R=4, A=6 M getting values as S=3, C= 7, A= 2 Which is satisfying the equation too🙄

In last question, G value can be 8 assuming N+N+U > 20.
Then N would result as 9 which is clearly not in options given. So he must have gone for G as 9

Sir ,in last question carry for "G " may be 2 also.
Look at the options, there's no 11xx number present. So obviously it has to be 10 or 12 at the first two places, but 12 is not possible so, first option is the right answer so you don't need to solve the last question.

No it cannot. Because U = 9 is already found. So C cannot be 9.

In the HUNT question, while solving from left can't we assume carry=2 instead of 1??
Yeah we can do that and by solving we can get that g=9

8 is the only possibility for N. So consider the example
8+8+2 = 18 (10+8)
So we can write 18 as 10+8.
