"To create their own local steammata of variants, build up a genalogical database..." This makes it sound like you can use this tool to come up with your own text, perhaps this is an oversimplification but it's very difficult to not read it that way.

I recall someone, I think Wallace, saying essentially that we have the text and we're just 'tinkering' with it. It appears now that ECM is done for Mark, that this is not really the case.

Thanks for another great episode. It's good to have a faithful watchdog keeping us up on the developments. I am thinking that the critical text (beside the modern translations) is going to play a big part in the apostasy we are witnessing. People are smart enough to draw the conclusion that a text that continually changes is not reliable.

What about the MEV translation that uses the Majority/Received text? Well?

lol. "Textual Critical Scholars are so disconnected with the church"
These apologists just hate scholarship and also hate reality. It also theologically affects this dude. Also he does not understand TC as his video shows. He totally does not get it. Nothing new.

If there is that many changes in Mark then there is bound to be many more changes coming.
The way I heard that was here is our work we don't really know we are just making it up as we go along, but hey you can build your own critical text make the Bible of your own imagination like many of us have always wanted. Instead of just having hundreds of different versions now we can have millions or even billions of versions.

I don't know man, I'd be super interested in the tools to do my own textual criticism. I can't believe the church hasn't yet put all the manuscripts in an easy to use/compare format yet.

If you followed recensions, text-types, process, and now CBGM AKA GIGO, just wait until 2030 for the complete ECM. Then from an ancient garbage dump in Upper Egypt we find a new scrap. Methinks, I'll just stick with the AV. Peace.

The Mark of the beast cannot be a Bible translation. It is the mark of *THE BEAST*. The Beast is explained as a last days revival of the Empire that followed the Roman Empire in the Middle East. (Rev 17, Daniel 7) The ECM has nothing to do with the newly reviving Ottoman Empire. They use the Koran.
