Hi Mikel, I’m really enjoying your channel. I would love to see a series of videos, perhaps something like a language diary, where you start at zero with a language and use your techniques to learn. Watching the progression would be interesting!
I completely agree with your ideas for how to change up the channel. I've been a long time supporter of the channel and I really like the idea of seeing new content that's different from your repetitive (albeit helpful) tutorials. I can't wait for what you have in store for the channel.
Sadly seems like it was too difficult... Was really hopeful he would give it a proper shot. But ya, Japanese is definitely not a language you can do in 3 months and he has proven it 😂
I admit I started doing the top four things you said to do. I did or thought I was experiencing a change. But I was spending 3 hours and it was more of getting procedures right and less on listening and speaking. Then I stopped though in large part due to fear. 14 years of failure with a few methods - traditional, having children's books read to me, LingQ - getting nowhere and loosing friends here in Manila trying to learn Tagalog. Tremendous fear of failure continues. I will only do the sentences and situation sentences that I use ChatGPT to create and translate. I did find a text to speech for Tagalog that is good. I may know a lot of words but useless at understanding and speaking. The Tagalog region of the Philippines is awful getting help from friends. Now depressed during holidays. Much more than few friends realize. Sick of failing. Sick of being among people I do not understand.
Hi Mikel, I've been following you and learning a lot from your recommendations. What do you think of using Character AI (creating a character) to engage in a conversation in a specific language?
Is the jp update coming soon
