So I watched this and no joke next Abrams game went 21-1. Doubled the networth of the most farmed player on their team. And got a triple kill solo in their base. Actually incredible guide, the early aggression from Monster rounds unlocks so much potential
Awesome guide, loved how you talked about how each item can change the available playstyles. Felt okay on Abrams before but first match after felt so much more confident! Was maybe my best deadlock game yet!
Love this form of video! Don’t feel bad about going in depth, there are plenty of people already who will just do surface level anyways. Would enjoy seeing this for more characters
Ah Abrams, my crutch pick for my early hours in Deadlock. He's just so great to play and is one of the best choices for non-aim oriented players. Thanks for this build, definitely feels like a refinement compared to popular ones :)
I've really gotten into Abrams and I gotta say, the amount of enemies that know how to parry is like 1/10 somehow. There are many games where in the late-game I become unstoppable because I can just non-stop punch every person I come across.
Great video! The build is explained so well, appreciate you describing why you pick items when you do. Im gonna try the parry check at the start of games and then die tho now lol
There was like 20 different clips in this video where the opponent pressing F would mean certain death for Abrams. Also as of last patch his stun duration got reduced, so with debuff reducer you can guarantee a parry on him if he tries to heavy melee you after landing a shoulder charge.
@@McDonkies not realy. You can easily fake a punch and even if you get parried you are too tanky to die. Also you have tons of damage in close range.
@@MarcoStylealso debuff reducer works on his shoulder charge stun duration which allows you to parry him even if the abrams is running duration extender + superior duration.
I used to watch your TheDivision videos all the time, crazy to see you doing Deadlock content years later! Love the videos, happy to see you again, playing a game that I also play :)
32:36 Amazing tip however it's slightly misleading. It doesn't "delay" the melee slightly, it actually cancels it completely. It just feels delayed because you keep holding down the melee key. So you can actually -double- (It's actually almost triple) the distance of your melee if you wait until almost the end of the animation and then press the siphon ability. Which you can also use to to bait out an enemy parry, steer away mid animation and then activate the ability while steering back towards the enemy. (Note: I have not tried this out in an actual game and will report back with my discoveries.) Edit: it works really well in game and can also work with fleetfoot incase you dont play abrams
I didnt really like Abrams until I played him yesterday, and I finally realized how much fun it is to punch people and see 3/4 of their hp just disappear 😂
Curious thoughts on torment pulse? Seems like a good fit for his kit. If so when would you pick it up? Edit: Forgot to mention hands down best deadlock content on youtube. The depth is amazing please keep doing long form!!
Hi Marco, can I suggest an editing addition. When you talk about an item. Take a screenshot of the description and leave it on screen for 10 seconds so we know which item you are talking about?
For delaying your Heavy Melee by activating Siphon Life during it, you can actually cancel the Heavy Melee entirely. It's a bit buggy, but it works nicely for baiting parries out of people if you can get it down.
Neat guide thank you! I just wanted to let you know though that using siphon life fully cancels the melee now. You have to let go of the button pretty quickly otherwise another one just comes out anyway but it's pretty neat.
Hey Marco, big fan of your videos, you're one of the top content creators for deadlock, looking forward to see more guides from you. love the emphasis on the builds as well. How do you feel about Phantom Strike? tried it a few times lately and it was crazy good, guaranteed kill each time. and helps with enemies with mobility (obviously might not be best choice when losing). feels like a combination of slowing hex and warp stone. Also, what about Torment Pulse? been using the punchy mcpuncherson build and it feels super helpful especially for wave clear. Lastly, with Frenzy, I feel like it doesnt synergize well with your health regen, meaning you might not proc it many times. Not getting armor items will be tricky, as I'm always counting on them for survivability, but I could be overestimating them. also missed some specific collosus explanation i.e when to get, when to use etc. Will check out your guide but might have to make my own variation as there's no way I'm ready to part with melee charge :p Last question (sorry for the essay) - hiw does Vampiric Burst compare to Colossus, Inhibitor and Leech? I always assumed strong M1 heroes like wraith, haze, infernus would benefit more from it. does it also benefit from melee?
@@Tommy-hv8pk oh I found the comment you meant. yeah Phantom strike can be good but I feel like I'm usually super full on vitality items. Knockdown is a cheaper spirit alternative that I just prefer for targets I can't reach. I think torment pulse is just not good on Abrams with this build. It can be a strong early game item, but I feel that Abrams has so much burst already, the damage that torment pulse adds is negligible. Frenzy is amazing against a spirit heavy team. Every time you fall below 40% hp, you become twice/three times as tanky and start moving super fast making it hard to hit abilities. The survivability items like armors are crucial for late game, I only skip them when I'm far ahead. Last up, I definitely think vamperic burst is the strongest item if you're already winning, but colossus is a safer pick that also scales really well. Vamperic burst can seem a bit weaker if the opponents have a lot of fire rate slows, whereas colossus always gets value.
@@MarcoStyle IMO torment pulse is super helpful for wave and jungle clearing, but i'll try a bit without it and see how it works. I still struggle to see how vampiric burst would be so efficient given we are not a super high ROF M1 gun hero, but will give it a shot as well based on your input. What do you think about Inhibitor? the slow is really nice, but IMO gets less effective in the very late game. And lastly, how do you balance slowing hex and knockdown together? I would think getting hex and then selling for knockdown is the way but you are wasting a bit of souls. and having both seems like an overkill and a waste of slot. or do you always just get one of each? I would rather use that 4th spirit slot late game for something like mystic slow (though harder to proc without torment pulse). Thanks for your response!
@@Tommy-hv8pk I feel the debuff duration is too little to really make use of with Abrams. He target switches quite a bit and the debuff only lingers for 2.5 seconds.
Great guide! I think that the Kinetic Dash setup is way above my pay grade skill wise. I'll adapt by replacing it with Melee Charge instead, then I should be good to go!
A little bit of practice is all you need, don't be discouraged. Kinetic Dash is such a great item on other heroes too so it'll be worth your time to get those dash-jump timings right. Plus the increased mobility feels so good. I buy KD on pretty much all heroes just because of that. Yes, I buy it on Bebop.
Gonna quote Marco's response to other commenters who asked about torment pulse: @MarcoStyle said: "Just don't think it's worth it. I think torment is great on heroes that benefit from escalating exposure, but idk abrams is more of a gun damage type of character imo." He also said in another comment: "I don't feel like spirit items are that good on abrams and torment doesn't add that much damage imo."
Interesting that you made no mention of torment pulse? I have not really started my Abrams journey yet, but in the few games I did play it felt very impactful.
Question about punches: Do they work with bullet lifesteal? Punches are affected by bullet resistance after all, so one would expect the general damage type to be bullet
Can you elaborate on that multiplicative stacking on -bullet resist from Hunter's Aura and Bullet Resist Shredder? What are we multiplying here? I would have assumed 1.3 * 1.12, but that is definitely not it.
100 * 0,70 * 0,88 = 61,6 rounded to 62 in game. This means our bullet resist would be -38. Since the bullet resist values are negative we have to multiply with values below 1.
Interesting, you build abrams pretty different from alot of the community I typically build for spirit lifesteal and rush his 1 Popping that with infuser and healing booster You can regen your entire bar while in combat But i might just be in lower elo lol
I feel like the ability to just kill people with your gun is mroe useful than refilling your whole bar. Also I think it is fairly easy to play around the siphon life so you might not always get the value that you want with that.
Definitely not in the same mmr now, had to start rushing 2 since, yeah, people play outside of siphon and minions aren’t always around for free health, lol But I’ve been having fun being silly with both melee charge and kinetic dash, just never reload after lane phase
Just don't think it is worth it. I think torment is great on heroes that benifit from escalating exposure, but idk abrams is more of a gun damage type of character imo.

Your comment made me take another look at boundless in the context of this video, and my god.. Seems an easy lategame pick for Abrams, given his lack of spirit slot pressure. I'm curious what other items you're referencing, regarding better EHP picks.
Boundless Spirit is great but also costs 9000. Usually my games are done before I get to that item. I'm not sure what you are refering to when it comes to the EHP/s. th-cam.com/video/R-zb9-FRUzc/w-d-xo.htmlsi=PTYq7YGn8gpYddd4&t=1919 In this short part of my item guide I explain why I think the early resists aren't that strong. Almost every item I take isn't so much for the most hp, but to have the most impact at different times of the match.
I am playing Abrams and the amount of people who instantly go into parrying when they see me make me chuckle. You can parry my melee attacks but try and parry these bullets coming at you. Abrams gets really annoying and strong when you build his gun dmg to the skies, he has 2 stuns which is already annoying, but when his gun shoots like a bazooka in your face, just give up and go next lol
New patch I think made it so you don't get a confirmed melee after a charge on Abrams. I played against some bad Abrams and got free parries but I kind of think this is strangely a buff. Forcing people to panic and take a 50/50 means Abrams can now bait parry without doing anything. And if someone whiffs the parry they can't dash away fast and you then get like two free melees lol
Duration extender still makes it so the heavy melee goes through every single time. So unless they buy debuff reducer it still works very much the same.
Hopefully he does, but you can keep this in mind: One point in every skill (preferably in order 3 > 2 > 1 > 4, same as unlock order) Max 2, then max 4, then max 3, and last max 1.
