Lil' Guardsman is a narrative puzzle game, inspired by the classic point-and-click genre and the mechanics of Papers, Please. Set in a high-fantasy world with the comedic sensibility of Monkey Island and other 90s Lucasarts adventure classics, Lil regularly finds herself covering for her dad, the head castle guardsman. She interrogates a cavalcade of fun and weird characters trying to gain entry to The Sprawl.
You decide their fate... and the fate of the entire kingdom.

First concept is creepy
It's definitely weirder!
wow! the game sure looks way different at the start, love the lil we got. As hamish says it best, shes adorable. I really hope we get some sorta expansion to the game, this was my first introduction to this sorta game and I am looking forward to playing the other games, this title was inspired by.
The final version is definitely more 'classic' and cute. But there's something strange and angular and more edgy about the early concept that I still really like. Maybe we'll come back to that style some day for a different game!
It’s a shame this game isn’t huge huge. It’s getting there though.
We love that people are loving, and discovering our game. Yes it's slow and steady, but hopefully it achieves 'cult classic' status and then lots of people find it!
I liked the old style looked like the sally face/ Franbow type style… like uhh the 2010’s visual novel style. Reminds me of old flash games I love it

So glad you found us! I think the style we ultimately landed on suits the material, but yeah - when we have something a bit more ominous and weird, Artiom's original direction will be perfect!!!
It kinda reminds me of gravity falls or welcome to nightvale and the Magnus archives.
All good pieces of media that has mystery’s and dark secrets in the background.
The cute art style is amazing though and just gives me a nice fuzzy feeling.
I like the style of concept too though. Would be great to play your next games in this style :D
Our co-creator/director Artiom did all of the art in the prototype. We still really love it too! Definitely can see a darker cartoon game working really well in his style.
