  • This year is the 60th anniversary of the launch of the stunning Jaguar E-type, the car that Enzo Ferrari himself called "the most beautiful car in the world". We will have a stunning selection of these beautiful cars on the Cartier Lawn at the Festival of Speed presented by Mastercard in 2021, but the Festival is no stranger to E-types of all varieties running up the Hill.
Here we've picked some of our favourites from the last few years, from the stunning lightweight to the slightly bonkers E2A. Which is your favourite E-type of all time?

It's the hardest question. Low Drag, Lightweight or Roadster? Which do you take home?

A healthy E-type sounds like a baby Spitfire.

Quick question re 86PJ: on restoration in 2006 or so, she was found to be just about the most original of all Lightweights, and and very little was done apart from a first-class tidy-up. Seeing the car back in Historic Racing makes me ask the question - has the car been upgraded to make her competitive, or is she still the wonderful car 'as raced' in the '60s?

@@dickieb2233 Hi thanks for the reply in 1976 when I was a very young man 21 I brought a lotuselan sprint which was very much smaller than the etype that's why I think the etype looks high by the way Iam english and I still have the elan naw Iam 65

@@TheNigel55 Nigel, I apologize. My comment was tongue in cheek really. You have been a very fortunate chap; Elan Sprint are becoming very few are far between and command high prices, I am sure you agree. Cars are getting so big that when an Elan, mini or any car up to the mid eighties, is seen, it looks tiny. Long live the little cars of yesteryear.

@@dickieb2233 Hi yep did not take to hart some people get a bit offensive not me ,my elan cost me £1675 00 in 1976 lot of dosh then moden cars seem to big now days

@@TheNigel55 Nigel, that was plenty. Our Mini was £1500 brand new in '76. Sold it two yrs ago for £8000. Mind you, an old pal sold his e-type in '73 for £700 and bought a Ferrari 246gt for nearly the same. If only a select few could time travel... or had forethought.
