That soot line you pointed out is actually the heat line too. The air was hot enough to damage the sheetrock/paint. The temperature at the floor was probably less than 200 degrees while at that heat line it was probably between 600-1000 degrees. The house held up great considering because of the materials used and how its built. That's what we call a legacy structure in the fire service. A house built today would have been on the ground. Looks like the Fire Department did a great job though. Always make sure you have working smoke detectors in your home. In a house like this one you have around 7 minutes to get out, in today's homes you have about 3. Everyone stay safe.
you probably dont give a shit but does someone know a trick to log back into an Instagram account..? I was dumb lost my login password. I appreciate any help you can offer me!
@Harper Ira thanks for your reply. I found the site on google and im in the hacking process atm. Takes quite some time so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
Sad anytime someone suffers a catastrophic fire. The 2 worst losses are fire damage and then storm flood water damage. The sentimental part is devasting to the owner/occupant and the cleanup costs are huge. It's very fortunate everyone was able to escape this tragedy and no one was injured. As a retired IAFF firefighter, I commend the crew that fought that fire and minimized the damage! Very professional takedown Mike, the lot was tight but, you planned it, and executed the takedown without a hitch. 2 thumbs up from here brother. Great narration too. The drone shots added tremendous scope to the size of the lot and the volume of debris the building generated. If you have additional footage of this job, please share it with us! Work safe, see ya on the next 1 Doug@ the"ranch"
Great video Mike! Great explanation on demo work, there is definitely a method to the madness. I’m glad your friend and his family was ok. Thanks for sharing
It was a nice looking house. Where I work caught fire under suspicious circumstances and the offices had to be demolished, but you could still smell the fire even after my office was rebuilt.
makes sense.. sorry for your friend's loss - I went through a fire in college at my apartment, it totally sucks. Couldn't imagine losing the home I've lived in all my life. Hopefully he was insured
I really enjoy sitting here watching you guys do a tremendous job of getting the house on the ground with out hurting or wrecking anything it's really nice to see that you have someone that you can call and they can call you that can come help you so you don't have to try and drop that house yourself!! Cheers! Always look forward to seeing you having a new upload!!!
Having drove roll off for the last 23 years around Muncie, I've hauled countless loads of demo. I appreciate your experience in your work. Keep up the good work, great vidgas.
It brought tears to my eyes seeing this lovely home he was brought up in torn down it could have been saved but I guess it's what the owner wanted I respect him for that. I wonder why the owner didnt repair it instead
I was surprised they didn't repair but if there were other issues I suppose. Nice stop by the local FD. Fire damage didnt seem to extensive actually. The smoke/heat line here is exactly why we teach people to stay low, ourselves included. The temperature and visibility difference from floor to ceiling is DRAMATIC. Cool demo video by the way.
This was years ago. We got a knock at the door and they were turned around and told us that we had 6 foot flames coming out over chimney and my mom yelled for me to get up and I got up and come downstairs and I said what’s wrong. She just got a fire going Fire department the chimney was not attached or I would’ve been here but we use the shimming week logs and the fire department says don’t even cuss so don’t work, but I understand from the farm Marshall that a chimney had never been cleaned and we bought the house. It was winter there and you’re very lucky.
Don't know why but cleaning up after fires are my least favorite thing to do. The worst was a barn fire where 65 could not get out. I hate to see people loss their stuff. Like you said at least no one was hurt. Great video
Really professional job I did admit I did cry when the house was torn down in my eyes it could have been saved and repaired but I'm no home expert and it could have loads of things wrong with it I respect the owners decision and I hope that they make more new memories for their families. Let's hope in the future fires can be prevented and all electrics safer to use and also gas too. I too been in two house fires years apart they do have a devastating impact on people.
That's what you call a tight spot for sure. Really glad no one got hurt in the fire. Great work as always Michael, can't wait for part two. Oh, hate that you had an unscheduled shower!
The reason it’s like that the heated gases rise and that’s why the fire normally up high and burns the hearted gases . ( I was a volunteer firefighter for 13 years )
Far too many homes burn down because of faults within the electrical wiring of the building [power cables getting hot without fuses tripping]Also sometimes fan heaters are sold that draw 10 amps whilst being equipped with power cables fit only for 5 amps continuous use [ie 10 amps intermittent use-a recepie for trouble if cable is over stressed]Since my mother's house burned down [electrical fault] I now operate electrical appliences on an "eyes on" basis-no to fridges/freezers /standby mode etc etc.
Look Like you did a great job considering the circumstance. I have demoed a triple wide trailer back at the first of the year and it was more than I expected.
What kind of timeframe do you have once the permit is pulled and who disconnects the power and utilities? Thanks for another great video. Love the sky cam video. Cheers!
Shitty thing to happen, but good job doing it. At least everyone made it out safe and sound houses can be rebuilt, new memories can be made, but lives don't come back. When you're doing demo like this, do you have to check for asbestos or suchlike?
That could of been easily repaired. I've seen a total fire gut to a house and get repaired. You tore down a minor damaged old house! You could of at least salvaged a lot of that old flooring and other things that have value.
So saddened to hear a good friend loss an heirloom family home. But great the community pulls together to help and support. God bless
Very interesting. You worked well with each other.

@Harper Ira it did the trick and I finally got access to my account again. I'm so happy!
Thank you so much you really help me out !
I’m truly sorry for the loss of their home. But thankful they all got out. 🙏

I'm sorry for your friend. To loose the house before Christmas. Sucks
Surprised this house wasn't repaired - looked fixable! But nice work with the demo regardless!
It could have went either way but have had a few other problems other then fire damage

Sorry for your friends loss, glad no problems getting it down. Good luck on hauling it away..

So sorry for your friends loss, and thankful that everyone made it out.
That was an excellent video. Loved your narration and the drone footage. Thanks for making it.
Thanks
Another job of proper planning leading to a job well done.

Thanks and yes the house had some other issues. Thought that heat line was pretty cool myself I don’t get to see that everyday
@@DirtPerfect
26 years of seeing it and its still cool. Fire is an interesting animal.
Yes it is
Like you said sucks losing the house. Thank God they are all ok though.
Yes very true
surprised they doesn't more fire damage / fire travel ...I didn't see a fire stop one...nice job the the FD's ......
Great job on getting it down safety..
Dwayne
Thanks Dwayne
Good solid information. Nice job 👍
Nice job! Your fire department done a great stop on that fire .
Thanks and yes
the bedroom door was probably closed, it contained the fire to that room

Yup it’s a sad deal for sure
Awesome video, love the teaching you do as it happens.
Demo Perfect! Great job Mike!👍👷
Thanks man
Such a shame I hope everyone is ok now and got a new home sending my love to everyone

Cool thanks Todd
I seen this one a while back, but I wouldn’t liking and commenting in, but enjoyed the second time
This reminds me of what I was doing back in 2013 getting my old house taken down so I could build a new one.
Did you have s fire berry
@@DirtPerfect no it was an old villa that was passed it's use by date was wasting money trying to keep warm.

Good stuff---
Think God everyone got out safe
Yes sir that’s the main thing
Sad that your friend's house burned and his families but he did select the finest person to help and to take the house down
Thanks
Great story. World would be a better place if we took care of our family and friends first.
Yes amen to that
Looks like the FD was literally next door. Handy...
Look Like you did a great job considering the circumstance.
I have demoed a triple wide trailer back at the first of the year and it was more than I expected.
lol thanks Jeffery
Enjoy watching. Thanks for the videos and time out of your busy day.
Sad when a house burns
“Long story short…”. 😊
How many dumpsters did you need? Pricing out a job right now
8
That’s with the foundation as well?
Nice work keeping everything contained, one question when you demo a place like that is there any way to get access to a fire hydrant for the water?
Thanks sometimes yes but in this case it was in the other side of the highway
What kind of timeframe do you have once the permit is pulled and who disconnects the power and utilities? Thanks for another great video. Love the sky cam video. Cheers!
30 and all the utilities companies do the disconnect s thanks for watching
How’s your friend doing after a year after this?
They are doing good
Nothing runs like a Deere ;)
Yup
Was waiting for some super stick action
I know sorry 😐
Nice video. I think I might be your 5000 sub
Thanks bill and that’s awesome!!!! Glade you found the channel and hope you enjoy
Nice job, I have enjoyed working in team style. I have a tiny vid coming of a pet rock for you 😄
Cool will have to check it out

Yes asbestos and lead
Do you bottle all your aggressions up and take them out on demo days, seems like good therapy lol
Yes you guessed it 😜😀😀
demo is difficult and dangerous - much to observe and think about - remain safe- remain organized. keep onlookers away.
That's nothing I do fire restoration on homes with the roof half caved in. But I guess if they want a new house that's the time to do it
House had other problems unfortunately
Usually the only problems I run into is either a bad foundation or government restrictions from the local city hall
👍
👍👍👍
Did that house have a basement?
Very small cellar
That could of been easily repaired. I've seen a total fire gut to a house and get repaired. You tore down a minor damaged old house! You could of at least salvaged a lot of that old flooring and other things that have value.
Sorry mark not my house not my decision just hired to do a job 😁
@@DirtPerfect I understand. But if that was his childhood home, you'd think he'd try to save it
I thought u bought a new Volvo?
No just hauled it for a buddy 😜
