the really rad thing about the rain/thunder tracks is that 3H, as a turn-based game, has your map and combat sequences dynamically switch between the two.
so with wrath strike you have these driving strings/brass as you’re positioning units that fade to percussion and suspense as you’re actually fighting
Not just in 3H, it's also done in multiple modern Fire Emblem games. I especially like the way Fire Emblem Warrior did it with the instruments and the music pace changing depending if you are on the open field, inside a base, have your special bar activated or are in the pause menu.

I think that might become a peak reaction. lol Shambhala gains in context of the whole soundtrack, because hearing it unaware of what FE is and sounds like is one thing, but going from the rest of the soundtrack to that? It's definitely an experience. lol

Here's something I always love: the parallels between Blue Skies and A Battle and Between Heaven and Earth. It's, obvious for anyone who played, that it's events of that fight twisted on their head from just a competition between 3 classes to a full rage 3-way war that's been brewing for 5 years. And seeing the switch, growth, and, more importantly, the full trauma and stress these students have all went through in the between the first time seeing them in this area, and them all there 5 years later having been forced into a full war. I just can't listen to 1 without needing to listen to the other.
First Persona, then Xenoblade 1 and 2, and now Fire Emblem Three Houses. Thank you so much for reacting to all of amazing soundtracks!

Three Houses OST is fantastic. It’s one of the best examples of an OST, where the composers created many unique sounding tracks out of a small handful of motifs.
wrong, is the music being different in all the routes. Chasing daybreak is present in ALL the routes, and is overplayed as well. Sure people prefer to call it the blue lions theme but it isn't. It's present in all the 4 time skip routes because they were lazy to make different ones. The long road is also present in all the 4 routes. And the use of perspective is done in hundreds of genres. Three houses uses "reach for my hand" over and ove ragain, using different small pieces of it in every song is not unique nor amazing, it's basic even tho I get the message that the whole story is inside the edge of dawn song. But again, all the songs (minus the final map song) are the same in all the routes in the time skip. The soundtrack si quite lazy and lacks power at times. Even that sad song that play more during dimitri's deppresion is present IN ALL THE ROUTES. And no, it's not dimitri's theme just cuz it plays more to him or that you like to assing it to him. It would have been cool if that one was his theme but it isn't, it's basically "the sad theme that plays when a sad moment happens". Also if you are gonna use the excuse as "but shambala theme is only in two routes", yeah because shambala map is only present in 2 routes *which I am shocked cuz three houses reuses the same garbage maps all the time". If shambala map was in CF or AM it would be the same song.
You know what game does the difference of songs in different routes the best? Fates. Listen to the preparations map theme in conquest and then in birthright, the same song but with different instruments and tunes in between, three houses doesn't do that

The Main Theme is one of my favorite tracks in the series. It goes through all the main genres/styles the OST features in one track while also showcasing the series' theme and the game's main leitmotif that shows up repeatedly. One of the coolest tracks to listen to
This is still one of if not my favourite ost of all time, just means a lot to me. Also the fact it got no nominations or awards for its ost is a shame, as this ost is one of the most unique sounding ost that combines a ton of different genres and style to a fantasy game

@mihaimercenarul7467 It's not unique because it has dubstep. It's do the the compositions that take inspiration from different genres and styles. Sure there is a dubstep track but there's are other track that's also use the electronic elements but blend them in such a unique waym the best part of the ost that I forgot to mention is the use of perspective in the music as a lot of the tracks take the same chords/ progression but reworks it in different context for the different routes and all. Like it's really impressive on its own plus you have the 2 different takes on the same track something very few games do. I will admit my comment is not as well conducted as I should have made it. Also I'm a massive music fan and a bit of buff so I know what I'm talking about.

and the two takes of the soundtrack is done in all the modern fire emblem games, and three houses has only one song where the two phases sound quite different in tone and that is again, funeral of flower where the thunder version is actually sad and slow. Meanwhile all the other songs 2 phases are slow/battle style. @@Quinnsula5
I will always love for Edge of Dawn when they slip in each path into the lyrics, Blue moonlight, Blue moon, Wind cuts across my path, Verdant wind, etc
Before 3 houses I only knew Fe from smash bros
But going into 3 houses and playing it I absolutely love it. What a great experience. 3 hopes was fun and I'm looking forward to engage.

Smash Bros. was my introduction to Fire Emblem as well, my first game being FE Awakening.
I'm just now playing 3 houses. The game is totally awesome and I'm addicted, looking forward to engage but I'm probably not going to touch it until I go through all the major routes in 3 houses.
@@ghostf6321 i reccomend you to rest a bit of three houses after doing one or two routes of the game, since playing that game can feel repetitive because the first half of the game is almost the same in all the routes
Same as you, I discovered the series with 3H, it became my favourite game on the switch. Now I'd say I have 4 top 1s: Fe3H, MK8deluxe, Smash Ultimate and DQ11 (also my true introduction of the DQ series).
I played Fates (Conquest), Awekening, both Warriors and I started PoR. Also I need to finish my no NG+ Lunatic run
Smash Bros was mine as well with Melee back on the Gamecube. Marth and Roy were fun to play as and reading their trophy descriptions interested me greatly. When I read the *Japan Only* at the bottom I felt sad, then fast forward some years later to me walking into a Blockbuster/Game store combo and I saw Fire Emblem Radiant Dawn for the Wii and bought it instantly. The Fire Emblem journey from there was a great one indeed.

This soundtrack brings out so much emotion in me it's hard to put into words. It's beautiful
that is the problem with the three houses soundtrack, it lacks emotion compared to the other titles
Sad not to hear any thoughts on _As Swift as Wind;_ it's one of the best tracks on the entire soundtrack.

The Spirit Dais chant is in japanese, actually. Telling of a hope for the second coming of Sothis.
It's not. The Japanese lyrics are provided with the OST, but the actual lyrics to the chant, like God-Shattering Star, are in a made up language.

Fire Emblem always has amazing OSTs, but 3H definitely captured my heart my first time playing. and when you get to know more about Edie, Dmitri and Claude, a lot of the songs take on a whole new meaning and it's AWESOME

Fire Emblem: Three Houses, Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes, Fire Emblem: Awakening , and Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia have possibly my favorite soundtracks of the whole series. I especially like Id (Purpose), Twilight of the Gods, and God Shattering Star.

The music is so incredibly intertwined with the story and characters. I could tell you every little tidbit about every melody/rythym/chord and change in tone/rhythm/etc. and tell you why it's there and what it has to do with the world/story/characters.

Hey i was wondering if you could react to the Dwarf Fortess steam edition soundtrack.
It is such a good soundtrack, it fits the game perfectly, and it does many things other soundtracks don't, I think you would enjoy that sweet guitar too.
Its chill music to starve/freeze to death to while sealed off in a flooding cave.

Really hoping you're able to get around to FE Shadow of Valencia's OST.
btw since many people don´t get rhea, she is a grey character, but the developer themself don´t call her an Antagonist, infact she is an antihero. Meanwhile edelgard who many casual play like is the Antagonist as the devs state. Just wanted to clear that up because I can´t believe that people still 4 years after release think that Edelgard is the good one in the story and rhea the evil one and it is even more clear if you played 3 hopes
rhea is one of the worst written characters in the second half. In the time skip in blue lions rhea barely is mentioned, in verdandt wind she is an exposition bot and in crimson flower she is an angry karen who screams "GIVE ME BACK MY MOTHER!" What a wasted character who isn't even playable
got to the end and I have a couple questions about the bonus songs.
1: what is the context of the first bonus song? Like, is it a fan remix, official remix by same composer, official remix by different composer?
2. I assume 3hopes would of had a different development team since it's a different genre of game (real time tactical instead of turn based tactical) but are the composers the same?
3. Unrelated, but where do I go to suggest a soundtrack? There is one I have in mind but am wondering if there is a proper place to suggest it.
You should definitely react to the Sonic Frontiers OST, specifically cyberspace and the open-world BOTW styled piano music!

I think FETH is a really good entry in the series both in gameplay and in presentation (though we will always poke fun at the low-res fruit textures in the market area and the random dubstep on a few tracks.) They put a lot of effort into making the first "home console" FE game since the Wii be a real success. With that said, as good as this game's OST is, the OST for Fire Emblem Echoes (a remake of Fire Emblem Gaiden, an NES game) is even better. They managed to even make March to Deliverance, a legitimately annoying track to listen to on the original NES version, great. And they carried on the tradition of adding some Latin flair that the Smash Melee composers decided to randomly add to With Mila's Divine Protection even though the original NES version had none of that (obviously you wouldn't be able to hear it from the timbre, but it just wasn't even using any compositional elements of Latin music in the first place, and for some reason they added castinets and other Latin timbre to the Smash composition) while not making it feel out of place in the otherwise very-traditionally-orchestral soundtrack at all. I'm sure it won't get you a ton of views to react to that game's OST since it criminally undersold, but I hope you get to listen to it sometime just because it's so enjoyable. It also makes good use of leitmotifs without over-relying on them like Awakening, Three Houses, and Engage's OSTs did, which means the soundtrack is super varied compositionally but still cohesive. (To Fates' credit, they did a great job using leitmotifs tastefully.)

@@captainpep3 He made the final boss theme and raid battle themes himself, alomg with Area Zero I believe. Otherwise he had a lot of influence on a majority of the tracks.
