Just for a rough visualization of how "Rain" and "Thunder" versions work in-game for better understanding of this game's soundtrack:
Generally, the "Rain" version is heard 90% of the time, as it plays while moving characters around in a chess-like fashion. When a character attacks or is attacked by an enemy, it will zoom in to show a brief animation of hits landing or missing―it's during these brief animations (generally < 10 seconds long) where the "Thunder" version starts playing, the game seamlessly swapping between the two versions when needed.
Helps add variety to the music, because even though the songs are bangers, some battles can last a VERY long time, so this helps both make battles more engaging and also helps the music feel less repetitive.
Ngl, I lost my mind over the harmony thing in "Awakening". I love that kind of stuff.
Checked for the strange little skip in "Roar of Dominion (Thunder)" in the in-game music library. It doesn't seem to be there, so it was probably an error with the TH-cam video.

Yeah the people who made music for Fire Emblem Three Houses are extremely talented with music, and the unique ways they keep using the main theme. Even in a theme call “Thre Shackled Wolves” (you haven’t reacted to it yet), there’s a part where the a part of the main theme was played in reverse, and I didn’t even notice until like a year after when someone pointed it out
The "Question and Answer" part makes sense since that song is essentially the "Rousing Speech" song
Paths That Will Never Cross is top 3 songs on the OST for me.
That song screams HYPE when you hear it post time skip

Late but Those Who Sow In Darkness would be TWSID, TWSITD is Those Who Slither In The Dark

Yo, chasing daybreak is my favorite track in the game, it really captures the feel of an endless struggle in battle.
Agreed, friend. I lost my mind when I first heard it in Azure Moon. It's by far my favorite, followed by God Shattering Star and Roar of Dominion.

I don't know the routes by names but I took the Golden Deer route (Verdant Wind is it?).

@@mihaimercenarul7467 I don't know what you mean by power, everytime it plays I like it, and everytime some other track plays, I notice it's missing. So it does have some impact.
umm ok? I mean there are like so many games that use leitmotifs. And aside 2 or 3 songs, in the timeskip they got lazy and all 4 routes have the same songs. Chasing daybrayk is the generic time skip song that plays in all 4 routes. @@GoldenLeafsMovies

Edit: if I were you, I’d look up footage of the game on TH-cam, just so you can get an idea of what the game is like, and having the music play in context.
Or better yet, play the game yourself.
At least the thumbnails are good at telling what character the music is about.

I think one of the main points of these types of streams is not knowing what a game is like, the context etc. There's a specific appeal in listening to what the music has to say and translating it for or sharing it with the viewers.
I just noticed how similar sounding the 87. People of the Marketplace is to some Final Fantasy Tactics musics.
Golden Deer and Crescent Moon is just so good. 😌 Best character theme for the best house leader, as it should be.
(It, as well as The Leader's Path and The King of Lions are the respective character themes for the three house leaders, so the three main Lords of the game.)
Roar of Dominion may just be my favorite track in the entire playlist. It seems a bit overshadowed by the Gronder Field battle themes and the final levels.
It's definitely mine.
My first playthrough I went Crimson Flower, so I first heard this track whilst on the invading side. Preparing the battle, having chosen to side with Edelgard, seeing so many familiar faces I was planning to take on, combined with this theme playing gave me probably the greatest thrill I've ever experienced in gaming.
I am glad it got a second appearance in the DLC at the second-to-last mission.

it's been a WHILE since I've played this game but the tracks are so memorable (at least major themes and the battle themes) i find myself humming along because i remember them. great ost

I strongly recommend that you react to the Braid OST. It's really elegant and I think you would love it
I just beat Chained Echoes and I would love to see Dans take on that soundtrack. For me the soundtrack is almost on par with soundtracks from Nobuo Uematsu. I would love to see a professional take on this.
For anyone into old school JRPGs, that hasn't played chained echoes yet, I can only recommend you to try it.
The story is a bit slow in the beginning and it has a few moments where the actions of the characters bewildered me, but in the end it's an awesome story, that's among the best I've ever experienced in any JRPG.
It's amazing, that this game was build by a single dev.

I was looking at the future ost reactions, and I saw that there was Ultrakill and Ultrakill 2. Ultrakill is just one game, even though it says like Act 1 and Act 2. When you react to the Ultrakill ost, I just wanted to let you know that you should react to both the Act 1 and Act 2 soundtracks. Ultrakill goes by in levels, like 2-4 or 5-2, and Act 1 and the prelude are 0-3 and Act 2 is 4-6.

Why do I randomly think of the stampede scene from Lion King when I hear Chasing Daybreak? 🤔
Maybe it's all just getting in my head, but I think there is in fact special significance to the Roar of Dominion having a bit of the main theme reversed in it.
The game employs Tarot motifs for its characters, and in particular one of them, the active party in the scene where this song plays, is associated with the World Arcana, mostly in the Reversed position, via the Crest of Flames. Having a bit of the Fire Emblem / Crest of Flames motif reversed in this song could thus be a subtle reference tying into that.
I know it's not a game but man if we could superchat FMAB's OST I know you would absolutely love it
While it isn't the same, the next best could be Triangle Strategy's ost as it was written by the same composer (and is a game, so it fits the criteria)
broken routine hits hard with context, it’s a somber take on the music that plays during downtime between chapters. Spoiler:
your player character’s father has just been assassinated during what should’ve been a normal mission, and just the day after you’re already trying to go about business as usual as a teacher at this war academy.
needless to say you’re not doing so hot.
id love if you could react to the destiny ost. its one of the best soundtracks ive ever heard, and i think its really underrated. it has quite a lot of dlc, and each dlc has its own ost pretty much, so theres a lot to hear
Love the content! Have you ever thought of listening to Katano Zero's soundtrack? LudoWic and DJ Electrohead make some awesome music that some gets you in the flow, while others hit emotions.
