Bhawani Prasad Mishra (29 March 1913 - 20 February 1985) was a Hindi poet and author. He was honoured with Sahitya Akademi Award in 1972 for his book Buni Hui Rassi. भवानी प्रसाद मिश्र की प्रारंभिक शिक्षा सोहागपुर, होशंगाबाद, नरसिंहपुर और जबलपुर में हुई। आपने हिन्दी, अंग्रेज़ी और संस्कृत विषय लेकर बी. ए. पास किया। भवानी प्रसाद मिश्र ने महात्मा गांधी के विचारों से प्रेरित होकर शिक्षा देने के विचार से एक विद्यालय आरंभ किया और उसी समय 1942 में आपको गिरफ्तार कर लिया गया व 1949 तक आप जेल में रहे। 1949 में आप एक शिक्षक के रूप में महिलाश्रम वर्धा गए और लगभग पाँच वर्ष वर्धा में बिताए।

भवानी प्रसाद मिश्र मेरे शहर सोहागपुर से पढ़े थे और मेरे ही जिले होशंगाबाद से इनका वास्ता रहा वे हिंदी के बहुत ही जाने माने कवि और तारसप्तक में शामिल थे , सतपुड़ा के घने जंगल, सन्नाटा कविता उनकी प्रसिद्ध कविताएं है।

This is so interesting and simultaneously so painful to know the mindset of our society... Why do we impose this unrealistic idealism on our brilliant and talented writers... Do they not need anything to survive.. Do we provide them the social security to thrive independently... Where everything comes at a price for everyone, a writer also has a right to have a luxurious lifestyle.. After all they work hard(harder than many of the wealthy people) to reach that level of excellence...
Nothing is free in this world and this is cruel to expect writers or any other such Nobel professionals not demanding return of their work...
