She knew her light shined brighter than her husband. (She stated in her Oprah interview that he was jealous of her success.) And, there is a little guilt that goes along with that. So, she would always go out of his way to share the spotlight with him but he really had sung his last good note by this time. Not sure if this kiss was love or show.
